No more bidirectionnal function planed for the IQ EV Charger 2 ?

Hi,

I bought the (AC) IQ EV Charger 2 (IQ-EVSE-EU-3032-0105-1300) because it was advertised as supporting bidirectional charging. At the time, Enphase support told me that the hardware was already capable and that we were only waiting for a software update.

Now I've noticed that Enphase has removed most of the information about bidirectional charging from its website, which is very concerning.

What is the plan, u/Enphase_Support_Team? I sincerely hope that if the current hardware cannot support the promised bidirectional functionality, Enphase will replace it free of charge. Many customers purchased this charger based on that promise.

Is Enphase planning to offer a free hardware replacement for IQ EV Charger 2 owners so they can access the new bidirectional charger when it becomes available?

be quiet! Straight Power 12 vs Dark Power 14 vs Power Zone 2

Hi what do you recommand between "be quiet! Straight Power 12 vs Dark Power 14 vs Power Zone 2"

a guess i would order 750 W or 850 W für my 5070TI

but what is about the noise ?

Thx a lot :)

Why there is still no AI for Germany ? For fixed Tariff ?? There no more update for Germany forseen ?

Hi u/Enphase_Support_Team,

Why there is still no KI for Germany with Fixed Tariffs ? according to forums it was planed for Q1 2026....

Is there still update planed ? Or cancel ? and if still planed , WHEN is than that now planed ?

German users without dynamic tariffs are currently missing essential AI optimization features.
Due to recent regulatory changes, this leads to direct and repeated financial losses.

💸 Critical Financial Issues

1) 60% Feed-in Limitation – Lost Solar Energy at Peak Time

  • In Germany, PV systems are now limited to 60% of maximum feed-in power
  • This limitation occurs exactly when solar production is highest (midday)

Current Enphase behavior:

  • Battery is charged early in the day
  • EV (wallbox) is charged early
  • Hot water is heated early

➡️ By the time solar peak (midday) is reached:

  • All flexible consumers are already fully used
  • Feed-in is capped at 60%
  • Remaining production is simply curtailed (lost)

Why this is a problem:

  • The system uses energy too early instead of saving capacity for peak hours
  • There is no intelligent shifting toward midday peak production

👉 Result:

  • Significant amount of solar energy is wasted
  • Direct financial loss due to unused production

What is needed:

  • AI should delay flexible loads (battery, EV, heat pump)
  • Prioritize usage during solar peak window
  • Optimize specifically for the 60% limitation constraint

2) Negative Market Prices – Feeding Energy for Free

  • Electricity market prices are frequently negative
  • During these periods:
    • Feed-in is still possible
    • But no remuneration is paid

Important clarification:

  • This affects ALL users, including those without dynamic tariffs

Current Enphase behavior:

  • System already:
    • Charges battery
    • Charges EV
    • Heats water
  • When negative price occurs:
    • No more loads available
    • Energy is still exported → but not paid

➡️ Even worse:

  • The system does not anticipate or react to these situations
  • No strategy to avoid feeding into the grid during negative prices

Why this is a problem:

  • Energy is effectively given away for free
  • Later “compensation mechanisms” are not practical:
    • Delayed
    • Unpredictable

👉 Result:

  • Immediate and recurring financial losses

What is needed:

  • AI should:
    • Detect or anticipate negative price periods
    • Shift consumption (battery charge / SG ready / Wallbox) into those periods
    • Avoid exporting energy when it has zero value
  • This logic should also apply to non-dynamic tariff users ( seams to be here for german peapole with Dynamic tarif but NOT for Fixed Tariffs)

🤖 Missing Feature: AI Optimization for Fixed Tariffs

Currently:

  • AI optimization is limited to dynamic tariffs

But fixed tariff users face the same physical constraints:

  • Grid limitations (60%)
  • Market price effects (negative prices)

👉 AI optimization must be extended to:

  • Load shifting toward solar peak
  • Intelligent handling of negative price periods
  • Better coordination of battery, EV, and heating

⚙️ Requested Improvements

  • AI optimization for fixed tariffs
  • Smart load shifting to solar peak
  • Handling of negative price periods for all users
  • App update notifications / changelog

✅ Key Takeaway

The system currently ignores two critical realities:

  1. 60% feed-in limitation → forces peak optimization
  2. Negative prices → make uncontrolled export unprofitable

👉 Without AI optimization, users without dynamic tariffs are systematically losing money

Thx to make the update u/Enphase_Support_Team

Localisation don t work anytine on my kids applewatch

Hi,
My kid has an Apple Watch SE 3 Cellular (GPS + Cellular), but I have 2 problems:

  1. Sometimes the location in the People app shows a really old location (for example, from 21 hours ago), while the watch itself shows a more recent location (for example, from 1 hour ago). Why doesn’t the People app also show the newer location from 1 hour ago?
  2. Do you also have the same problem where sometimes the Apple Watch location doesn’t work at all? The Apple Watch has full network signal, but it still doesn’t update the location.

Looking for a silent 750W PSU recommendation for a RTX 5070 Ti build (Platinum efficiency)

Hi everyone,

I am currently planning a hardware upgrade and I need some advice on choosing the right 750W power supply.

Here is my target configuration:

  • GPU: RTX 5070 Ti (around 300W peak/transients)
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X (planning to upgrade soon to a more power-hungry modern CPU)
  • Case: Standard ATX case (no strict size limitations)

Energy saving is a top priority for me, so I am looking for a highly efficient unit with a minimum of 80 PLUS Platinum (or Cybenetics Platinum) certification to keep power consumption as low as possible.

My other absolute requirement is acoustics. I want a system that is as silent as possible under both idle and gaming loads.

I am currently torn between two different philosophies from be quiet!, but I am also open to other brands:

  • be quiet! Power Zone 2 750W: I love the fact that it is semi-passive (0 RPM / 0 dB at idle) and comes with a 140mm fan, making it potentially the quietest option on paper when not gaming.
  • be quiet! Pure Power 13M 750W: It technically hits Platinum efficiency in reviews with superior 28mV ripple filtering and solid caps, but the 120mm fan spins continuously.

How do these two stack up against each other in real-world noise levels? Is the continuous fan of the 13M truly inaudible, or is the 0 RPM mode of the Power Zone 2 better for a dead-silent idle setup?

If you have other top-tier Platinum suggestions like the Seasonic Focus PX-750 ATX 3.0 or Gigabyte AORUS ELITE Platinum 750W, please let me know how they compare regarding noise.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Need Feedback from TEsta Y to Xpeng G6

Hi, I’m thinking about switching from my Tesla Model Y to an Xpeng G6 — or maybe even another brand, just for a change.

Has anyone here compared Xpeng to Tesla? I’m seriously considering the G6. For the price, it seems to offer a lot more features, and Tesla Superchargers aren’t really necessary for me anymore.

If anyone has feedback or real‑world experience, I’d really appreciate it.

With Tesla, I’d lose the Enhanced Autopilot, while Xpeng still offers an advanced driver‑assistance system — and honestly, I think that’s a real advantage.

As for range: the difference between the Standard and Long Range versions of the G6 doesn’t seem that big. Do you see it the same way, especially compared to Tesla?
