Larger Sized Korean Sunscreen! Isntree Hyaluronic Acid sun Cream SPF 50+

Finally! A larger sized Korean sunscreen, 150 ml. It's great for my dry sensitive skin. It does not contain any fragrance, is dye free and does not contain any essential oils.

It comes out like a lotion, and quickly turns into an easily spreadable serum texture that is very moisturizing, especially for dehydrated skin.

Finish, slight glow.

Nice and light and easy to reapply.

I saw that beauty of joseon also came out with two body sunscreens as well. I went with Isntree because they disclosed their SPF and UVA testing.

Tested SPF 60 with a UVA of 20

80 minutes water resistant

It's currently on sale on yesstyle for around 15 bucks, I just repurchased it and bought the twin pack.

All Mineral Sunscreen my Perioral Dermititis can handle. Bioré UV Kids SPF 50+

I don't know, maybe this will help others, but I'm currently breaking out after a year and a half of clearance. Horrible stress and the use of nasal steroids for allergies caused another flare-up.

I still need to use sunscreen when I'm out here in California regardless of my perioral dermatitis.

This is an all mineral zinc oxide sunscreen with no chemical UV boosters that might irritate perioral dermatitis.

It's also water resistant 80 minutes.

I ordered mine off of yes style, now that I'm having another breakout, I ordered a few more bottles.

It's super lightweight and doesn't leave a cast, they use nano zinc oxide, I kind of feel like zinc oxide helps those of us with perioral dermatitis due to its antimicrobial properties.

It's fragrance free, dye free and alcohol free and comes in a shea butter vehicle, not sure that oily skinned people will enjoy the texture.

I have dry skin and live in a dryer climate in Southern California.

Detroit or Western NY/albany

I live in Los Angeles and moved out here for work about a decade ago. I'm originally from Orange county New York, grew up on the Orange county / Sullivan county border.

Moved out here for a job opportunity and the weather. Ended up finding somebody special and got married 3 years ago. My husband was an international student and grew up in one of the super mega cities in Asia and hated it.

We want to settle down and buy a house. Which is never going to happen in Southern California, plus I miss the greenery and four seasons. My husband hates the heat.

What we really want is a nice beginner home in the countryside outside of a small City. We're very boring and love each other's company, we want to make a little heaven of our own with our own property away from people.

I moved to Buffalo New York for University when I was 18. And stayed there for 14 years. I also lived in Rochester New York for 6 months but moved back to Buffalo for work.

My husband is fresh out of grad school with a masters in IT.

I would honestly move back to Western New York in a heartbeat, but I'm contemplating places like Detroit, which has an economy that's three to four times larger than Buffalo, my concern is my husband finding any kind of job once we move out there. How's the economy in Detroit? I hear there are still a lot of manufacturing jobs that pay well.

Also considering Albany New York, with the idea that my husband can find some kind of government job with his degree.

The only thing that scares me about Detroit is that I've never been there, ever, and we would have to start from scratch... Whereas New York State, I know like the back of my hand, I just don't know if the jobs are there.

We don't have children and don't plan on having them.

And access to a good healthcare system would be ideal.

Fellow Americans I Have an Alternative French Pharmacy

I won't gatekeep this french pharmacy. It's called soin et nature, they ship from france, and obviously contain mostly French brands. This is where I buy my UVmune 400. €12.99 shipping, €6 in tariffs included on receipt, you will receive this package through USPS, my package was held by customs for one day and then it was forwarded to my address. 8 weeks so far, no additional charges, customs had no issues with my package.

Isntree body SPF 50+, 150ml tube, 80 mins. Water resistant

So I'm probably not going to repurchase this sunscreen, I got it while it was on sale at yesstyle during its launch special on the website.

it's not a horrible sunscreen, but I definitely wouldn't rely on the water resistance with this one, or heavy sweating, didn't seem to hold up well.

I mean, it's a great deal if you want to use this as a daily sunscreen in a climate where you won't be swimming or sweating incredibly. This would make a great daily sunscreen in fall spring and winter.

There is Tinosorb M in this formula and it's not in the nano form so when I was sweating, you could kind of see a little bit of a white cast develop when the sunscreen was mixing with the sweat. I'm also fair skinned. Fitzpatrick type 2. No cast when I initially applied it.

I mean other than that it's a super moisturizing sunscreen with a beautiful finish. A natural Glow I would say on my dry skin.

I'm honestly just going to use this around the house, I have a lot of large huge windows and I have melasma, I'll just use this as a daily sunscreen indoors when I work from home. I mean it does have incredible SPF protection and high UVA tested in vivo. So do with that what you will.

Alcohol free

Fragrance free

On the packaging it says it absorbs super quick, I don't think so, I understand there's no alcohol, but I've tried other Korean sunscreens with zero alcohol and they absorb super quickly, like House of HUR, harharu wonder yellow tube and the numbuzin no. 1 sunscreen come to mind.

Current SPF Faves

To save money, I'm using body sunscreen for face and neck, I use UPF clothing when I'm out, and wear a hat.

I have fair dry skin and melasma and need high UVA Protection in Southern California.

I like the tone up effect of the Daylong extreme due to high amounts of tinosorb M. It's a light runny milk that sets quickly thanks to some alcohol, creates a moisturized natural glow on me. Holds up to sweating really well. I mostly hike or go for walks.

Also loving the super moisturizing Shea butter base of the La Roche Posay uvmune 400 dermo-pediatrics invisible spray. This has a shinier finish than the daylong Extreme. I've noticed that the packaging has changed, it no longer comes with a cap, and you can now open and close the spray nozzle.

I read on their website that this specific sunscreen has a different technology of polymers than the rest of the line so that the solution doesn't Gunk up the spray nozzle. Having a pump bottle is so convenient, I know how much to apply, six pumps for 1 g, two pumps for each cheek and one pump for the forehead.

With the day long I carry along a plastic quarter teaspoon.

The Daylong Extreme has like a squirt bottle cap so that with one hand you can squeeze the bottle, shoots out a stream of sunscreen fluid.

Both sunscreens hold up to sweat really well, high uva too.

Both sunscreens have protected my melasma from getting worse.

Fair skin summer sunscreens

I like Korean and Japanese sunscreens, they're so light.

As a fair skinned individual I need to wear sunscreen daily. I'm in southern California and have dry skin.

Japanese sunscreens tend to be water resistant. This line is advertised to be extra sweat resistant too

The bioré athlizm SPF 50+ sunscreen 70g is 80 mins water resistant. Hybrid sunscreen using a mix of zinc and modern UV filters, doesn't stain white shirts.

Light lotion dry down feeling. Demi-matte

My favorite is the Korean Round Lab BIRCH Juice SPF 50+ Sunscreen. 50g

It plumps up my dehydration wrinkles around my eyes nicely. Feels silky soft. Not water resistant. Not shiny. Feels like a serum.

Both are great to reapply.

I got mine from a local Japanese beauty store in Los Angeles locally, but you can buy them on yesstyle too.

Sunscreen Reapplication Study

Turns out that reapplying sunscreen significantly increases the SPF value. So find a sunscreen you enjoy reapplying.

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/phpp.12535

Abstract

Background

In 2007, the FDA added requirements for sunscreens to be labeled “re-apply at least every 2 hours” based on very limited data. This study used hybrid diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (HDRS) to evaluate the persistence of protection by 80 minutes water-resistant sunscreen formulation with and without re-application, and with and without sweat-inducing activity over 6 hours.

Methods

Sunscreens were applied to subject's foreheads and backs, and they remained at rest or exercised to induce sweating in a heated environment. Efficacy of a sun protection factor (SPF 50) very water-resistant sunscreen was measured with HDRS instrumentation and ultraviolet (UV) photography to determine the sunscreen protection over time.

Results

The sunscreen maintained SPF 50 efficacy over 6 hours for the non-active group with a single application, and for 2 hours for the active group, dropping slowly to SPF 30 level after 6 hours of sweating. Re-application of sunscreen gave additive SPF, with two applications resulting in SPF >100 and three applications approximately SPF 150. UV photography was insensitive to the differences in protection detected with HDRS instrumentation.

Conclusions

Sunscreen efficacy is maintained over time in the absence of sweating or rub-off. After two hours of sweating, an 80 minutes water-resistant sunscreen does not need to be re-applied “at least every 2 hours.”

Wow, it would seem that sunscreen Reapplication significantly increases the SPF protection.

Please add country of origin 🙏🏻

So this group has a huge international following, and sunscreens are one of the trickiest cosmetic / drug because each country has their own government standards for sunscreens.

You're also more likely to get sunscreen recommendations of brands that are in your country.

So I see a lot of people blankly asking for sunscreen support, they get the support and recommendations, but then the responses "I can't get that in my country."

So make it easier for us to give you good recommendations of different sunscreen brands by stating what country you're from

Review MammaBaby SPF 50+ 🇯🇵 50ml

This was a disappointment. I purchased this off of Japan with love and had it sent to me here in the United States. Contains no UV boosters.

They cost around 20 US$ and come out like a runny liquid.

Very oily and greasy like the Bioré UV kids SPF 50+

Huge difference in formula though. This leaves a white cast that is streaky, and it never sets! I have dry skin and live in California where it can be dry and this stayed greasy and it moved around my face.

Some websites stated it's water resistant, I don't see any stars on the bottle. And the way that it never sets and moves around, I doubt that it's water resistant.

It says on their website they've been working on this formula for the past 6 years.... I'd say, back to the drawing board.

Skip this, the bioré UV kids is amazing for me, same texture comes out greasy but eventually dries down and forms a water resistant finish that is extremely smudge proof. Plus you get 70 g of product for around $10 or less, and absolutely no streaking and barely, maybe a hint of a white cast on me with the bioré UV kids.

I can forgive most of this, but the streaking makes me feel uncomfortable going out in public like that.
