How to prep for Epic Ambulatory interview

Managed to land an interview for an epic ambulatory position at a large health system. I am currently a part-time AI grad student with little clinical experience but have a bachelors in health sciences + a minor in CS, and multiple internships working with health data and ServiceNow.

Does anyone have any advice for how to translate my experience to seem like a good fit during the interview? Any resources or advice to help me prepare would greatly appreciated.

Reduced tuition for GRAs?

Anyone know what the process is for getting reduced or waived tuition as a GRA at UTSA?

I qualify for in state tuition, and will be starting both my Masters degree and as a GRA in a few weeks. I also currently work another job on campus around 12 hours each week. If possible I’d ideally like to continue doing my current job along with the GRA position, but ultimately the reduced tuition is the most important for me.

Tools for boosting research productivity

I will be starting as a GRA soon and will be researching some topics I am very unfamiliar with. I typically have to reread lengthy research papers a few times until I begin to understand them and this can be very time consuming, especially when I am juggling multiple other responsibilities like my internships and part time work.

Does anyone have any resources/tips for how they use AI or any other tools to aid in their research? I’m looking for anything that would make it easier to digest the large amounts of complex info in research papers or help with making reports/presentations detailing them.

How valuable is CSA certification?

I’m currently doing an internship through my university in which we’re assigned a bunch of ServiceNow university modules and given a voucher for a free CSA exam. I’ve seen many say how the exam takes a couple solid weeks of prep as well as mixed reviews of the value of the cert.

Is it worth investing time to earn this cert in particular when I’ve already earned a few micro-certifications or would I be better off pursuing other certs that could potentially be more valuable? I’m super limited on time this summer due to another internship I’m doing alongside this one, and I only want to try and squeeze in prepping for this exam by the end of this summer if it’s truly worth it.

Do we have to do prereqs for graduate courses?

Got admitted into the Masters in AI a few days ago, but when looking through the catalog 2 out of the 3 core courses have undergraduate prerequisite courses with some having prereqs for the prereqs.

My bachelors was in a loosely related field and while I had the relevant background to get admitted, I didn’t do any of these prereq courses.

Will I actually have to dedicate an extra year just to completing 2-3 courses or will UTSA let me register for the core classes anyways?

I’ve been taking compound injections + phentermine for a little over 4 months and have lost around 20 pounds so far. I started the phentermine almost a year and a half ago but the option for injections recently opened up so we started that as well.

3 weeks ago, a few days after our doctor recommended upping my dosage to 1.5 mL, I started having some smellier than usual eggy burps. We don’t know if it was caused by an actual stomach bug due to some gas station food I ate around 2 days earlier, or if it was just due to the new dosage. It started to get worse and worse throughout the week, and I’d have more diarrhea and feel even more bloated day by day. Eventually 1 full week after the burps started, I threw up a small amount at work, mostly just some applesauce I ate earlier that day. But once I got home an hour later, I vomited enough to nearly fill my bathroom sink to the brim, and could see undigested pieces of food I had eaten over 3 days prior. We went to urgent care and they gave me anti nausea medication and anti gas/diarrheal medication (big mistake apparently). The next day I had a slight stomach ache but it became unbearable and we had to go to the emergency room where they gave me medicine for stomach cramps and said to stop taking the anti gas/diarrheal. Our PCP also said to hold off on injections for a week or 2 and all tests for bacterial or viral infections came back negative. After a few days I got better and was able to eat normally for most of last week and we finally resumed the injections yesterday evening at half the prior dosage (0.7 mL).

Ended up waking up this morning with eggy burps again and they taste a lot more disgusting than when they first showed up a couple weeks ago. I’ve been feeling more and more bloated all day and nearly threw up earlier after I did a larger than usual belch. When I was dealing with all this stuff 2 weeks ago I felt terrible and could barely work or leave the house. I had a job interview and I’m 99% sure they could smell it coming off me. For her birthday my mom had to take me to the ER in the middle of the night. I haven’t eaten anything all day and have only been drinking fluids because I’m scared the food will just stay in my body until I’m forced to vomit it all out like I did before. Nearly every medication I’ve tried (pepto bismol, gas-x, probiotics) has had barely any effect either. During all of this I also developed a sore throat which led to a cold and cough so my body has been under a lot of stress lately. I’m starting to have second thoughts about these injections because if this is the condition I’m expected to be in I’d honestly rather just attempt other methods to lose weight.

Thanks for reading any advice appreciated 🙏
