FAST vs NUST — which is better for AI/ML?

hii everyone! so i'm currently deciding between FAST and NUST for CS and honestly i'm pretty set on going into data science and AI, like that's the whole plan. the thing is FAST has a dedicated DSAI degree which sounds perfect on paper, but NUST doesn't really have a specific track for it within their CS program. so i'm kinda torn, does FAST's focused curriculum actually give you a better foundation for ML/AI, or can you get just as deep into it at NUST through electives? and is the NUST brand worth it even without a proper DSAI path? would love to hear from people at NUST.

Identity Crisis 101

I’ve been struggling with a weird identity crisis lately and I wanted to know if other Pakistanis feel this too.

Alhamdulillah I’ve had a privileged life in many ways. I’ve had access to good education opportunities and supportive people around me. But in international social settings especially around peers from “better” countries I sometimes suddenly feel… lesser. Not because someone openly says it but because of the subtle racism stereotypes or the way people react when they hear where you’re from.

And the worst part is how it starts affecting your own mind. I genuinely love Pakistan. I love Urdu desi culture our humor our hospitality all of it. I want to embrace my roots proudly. But sometimes after enough subtle comments or feeling looked down upon, I catch myself wishing I was from somewhere else.

Because of this I sometimes avoid mixing with other cultures and stay within my own because it feels safer and less exhausting mentally. But at the same time I hate that I do that because I don’t want to become closed off or bitter. It’s strange because you know your worth intellectually but emotionally you still absorb the way the world ranks countries and people. Sometimes I hate that I even think this way because deep down I do love where I come from. Have other people experienced this too? Especially those who’ve spent a lot of time in international environments? How do you stay proud of where you come from without letting other people’s perceptions slowly shape your own?

South Asians at NTU

Hi everyone! I’m an incoming freshman this August. As an international student, and I was wondering if there are many South Asian students there, especially Pakistanis. I’ll probably find my people anyway, but I just wanted to know beforehand if there’s a decent Pakistani/community presence on campus.

Going to Singapore for undergrad this July?

Hey everyone, I’ll be heading to Singapore this July for my undergraduate. I was wondering if anyone else from Islamabad is also going this year? It would be nice to connect with someone beforehand and maybe stay in touch or travel together if possible. So, if you’re also joining this intake, Let’s connect.
