[Self-Promo] I built a visual Mac automation app for repetitive work, looking for honest feedback

I’ve been building Tapquence, a visual automation app for macOS.

The idea is simple: repetitive work shouldn’t keep taking your time. Tapquence lets you build visual macros without code, combining actions such as opening apps and websites, typing text, clicking, scrolling, waiting and working with content on your screen.

It also includes ready-made Smart Automations. Presentation Mode can prepare your Mac for a meeting by checking your calendar, opening the relevant meeting app, launching your presentation and websites, silencing notifications and adjusting the volume. Routine Scout can observe a workflow you choose to perform and help identify repeated steps that could become an automation.

This short video shows the current version. It’s still evolving, so I’d genuinely appreciate feedback on what feels useful, what remains unclear and which automation you would want us to add next.

Tapquence is available directly from our website. The Mac download is signed and notarized by Apple.

What repetitive task on your Mac would you most like to automate?

I’m building a Mac automation app, which Smart Automation should I add next?

I’m building Tapquence, a native macOS app that lets people automate repetitive tasks using sequences of mouse clicks, keyboard input and other actions.

Recently, I added Smart Automations: ready-made workflows that users can quickly configure instead of building everything from scratch.

Now I’m trying to decide what to build next. I could come up with another preset myself, but I’d rather solve a task that people actually encounter in their daily work.

So, fellow builders and Mac users: what’s one repetitive Mac workflow you would genuinely want to run with a single click or keyboard shortcut?

Simple, niche and oddly specific ideas are all welcome. If an idea is useful and technically feasible, I may build it as the next Smart Automation.

You can see the project here: https://tapquence.com

I’d also appreciate any feedback on the Smart Automation concept itself.

What’s one repetitive thing you wish your Mac could automate for you?

I’m building a Mac automation app called Tapquence, and I’m looking for ideas for the next Smart Automation.

The idea behind Smart Automations is pretty simple: instead of manually building a sequence of clicks and keystrokes, you pick a useful preset, configure a few options, and it’s ready to go.

We already have a few built in (see screenshot), but I’d love to add ones based on actual use cases rather than just inventing features for the sake of having more.

So I’m curious: what repetitive thing do you regularly do on your Mac that you wish you could automate with one click or shortcut?

Can be something very simple or oddly specific. If it’s useful and technically possible, I might build it into Tapquence.

For context, this is the app: https://tapquence.com

Tell me one annoying Mac problem. I’ll build the most upvoted idea

I recently finished building my first macOS app and really enjoyed turning a small everyday frustration into something people can actually use.

Now I’m looking for the next problem to solve.

Comment with one small but genuinely annoying problem you have on your Mac. It can be related to productivity, files, repetitive tasks, the menu bar, window management, or something completely different.

The idea with the most upvotes will be my starting point. If it is technically realistic and doesn’t already have a great solution, I’ll try to build a working prototype and share the progress here.

A good suggestion describes:

  1. What currently annoys you

  2. How you deal with it today

  3. What the ideal solution would do

Keep it small. The best apps often solve one frustrating problem really well.

[macOS beta] Looking for people to test a cleaner mouse and keyboard automation app

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a few macOS users to test Tapquence, a visual mouse and keyboard automation app I’ve been building.

I started it because many macro tools work, but feel dated or unnecessarily difficult to use. Tapquence lets you build sequences with mouse movement, clicks, key inputs and fixed or random waits. It also has grouping, hiding actions while testing, templates and a separate Auto Clicker.

The public beta is free. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, and macro content stays locally on your Mac.

I’d especially value feedback on:

• installation and first launch

• creating your first useful macro

• anything confusing in the interface

• bugs or unexpected behavior

Honest criticism is exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks!

[macOS] I built a cleaner mouse and keyboard automation app — looking for honest beta feedback

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a macOS app called Tapquence.

I built it because the auto-clickers and macro tools I found could usually do the job, but often felt outdated or more complicated than necessary. Tapquence lets you combine mouse movements, clicks, keyboard inputs and timed waits in a visual sequence. It also includes action grouping, temporarily hiding steps while testing, templates and a separate Auto Clicker.

I’m opening it as a free public beta and would really appreciate blunt feedback.

I’m especially looking to learn:

• Does installation and first launch feel trustworthy and clear?

• Is creating a first macro easy to understand?

• Which parts feel confusing or unfinished?

• Can you find anything that breaks?

The app is signed and notarized by Apple, and macros stay locally on your Mac.

Even small observations are genuinely useful. Thanks to anyone willing to try it.
