party b4 the party was such a weird song to give them

pb4tp is very obviously a song about pre-gaming-- who thought it would be a good idea to give this song to the line-up with a 16 year old in it??

i know it's normal for kpop groups to be handed songs without having any involvement in the songwriting process, but what usually makes up for it is that the songs match the vibe or 'story' of the group in such a way that it's believable for them to be singing it. internet girl for example (even though it was a bad song) is believable coming from a group like katseye bc everyone knows they're chronically online, it makes sense. a 16 year old with a sheltered upbringing (who honestly looks and sounds even younger IMO) singing about pregaming and then going out for a night on the town is just so unbelievable to me like even if the vocals were better i wouldn't be able to take this song seriously coming from them 😭

i will not be streaming lol. why did they not keep prelude as 3!!

i wonder if they think about the fact that they're being sold like commodities

this isn't really snark but seeing clips of katseye sometimes i just wonder if they realise or ever think about the fact that they have essentially been turned into products for their company to sell.

this is also kind of true for all k-pop idols not just katseye tbh, but with their 15 million brand deals alongside complete their lack of creative, stylistic, or musical autonomy- which isn't standard in the west, it feels especially obvious.

do u think this is something any of them ever think about in great depth? i imagine it would be very difficult thing to come to terms with, so maybe they're just happy to have a platform and be famous, who knows

i feel so stupid . i posted a skit thinking it was funny, waited a few days to check how it did, and the one comment i got was someone saying "is this supposed to be funny?"

people say embrace the hate bc it means you're gettting views and engagent, but im literally not gettting either of those things. maybe i dont have what it takes to do youtube bc this just makes me sad and embarrased.

does anyone else get this sense?

the racism and hate online is so virulent and so casual to the point where there could literally just be an indian existing in tthe background of a video or speaking completely normal but with a slight accent and boom an onslaught of comments making indian jokes. or the crazy levels of backlash towards indians just existing together in places like frisco, even though they're a completely harmless community thatt has done nothing but boost the local economy. none of this strikes me as normal. i would not dream of treating people of another race this way. i've started to internalise it in my own life too

they think 'indian' before they think human being. you could argue it's mostly an internet tthing, but is it really though? the effects of this sort of behaviour and rhetoric bleed into real life too

this is just a vent honestly i'm really depressed about it and tired
