HELP - BUYING LAPTOP FOR COLLEGE B-TECH

- I will be going to college from August, electronics related branch, I need a solid laptop for work only (no gaming required)
- Budget is within 1L
- Thinking of buying this laptop for college, it has all the specs that I was looking for, however, there is a sale coming on Amazon from 4th to 6th July.
- I've heard people are saying that prices will hike in July, so should I buy this now itself? Or do I wait till 4th?

If there are better laptops with similar specs within the same price range, kindly suggest some

Genuine doubt about BITS P pls help

I want to know what exactly does BITS P offer that it has so much hype?

  1. They charge 30-40+ Lakh fees (depending on 4/5 yr course).
  2. They have no normalisation in shift difficulty and take raw score. They don't even release the papers or key, there is no transparency at all.
  3. They boast that they will give scholarship to top 500 rankers provided that they have under 20 LPA income and maintain 7.5+ CGPA but how are we supposed to know who tf are the top 500? Why are you not giving ranks to everyone? Why can't you share the stats of the highest scorer? Why can't you show how many candidates appeared for the exam? How many male/female? Where is the transparency? How hard is it to share basic details of an examination?
  4. They're located in Rajasthan with extreme heat during summers, if they're charging so much fee, how hard is it to equip hostels with ac or coolers?

They may have a great alumni and legacy ofc but I wanted to know, is the hype justified? This is not a hate post towards bits, I just want to know if it truly is worth going to the institute. Would be grateful if people could share their opinions

EDIT: Everyone here is under the assumption that I'm ranting or talking trash about BITS. I am not doing that, I know that bits pilani is considered one of the best in our country, I just need help from seniors as to why it's so good, why is it one of the best, what makes it stand out. Kindly help

Before you guys hate, Hear me out

Everyone here is under this false hope that cut offs will be 2025 - 10 or 2025 - 20, itna hopium mat karo yaar, there is a good chance that cut offs may go higher too.

  1. The biggest factor I think for cut offs going high is the discrepancy in shift difficulty, in both the sessions, 16s1 and 26s1 are the easiest shifts respectively (consensus), although the other shifts were notably harder than last year, even a couple of easy shifts can change the whole game.

  2. Jee Advanced shocker, everyone expected cut offs to be low, look what happened, it went roughly (2024 + 2025)/2, many people who did bad (as per their expectations) may consider bits now

Even I want cut offs to go low but we have to be realistic, take 2024 for worst case, 2025 for best case and their average for the most likely cut off scenario. Aise heartbreak bhi nahi hoga aur expectations se zyaada accha hi mil jayega. ✌️✌️ Let's hope for the best
