Wyze Cam V3 power options
Bought one used for $10 at a yard sale. Working fine.
After poking around, seems the Thingino custom FW is "best" for this device. Great, I'll flash it.
I want it at the front door of a stairwell, thus there's no nearby power outlets.
My thoughts for options are:
Light bulb socket outlet adapter. Hacky, but if I could hide everything cleanly that works.
PoE injector. Would be preferred so that I don't need WiFi or an SD Card, but in checking other threads on this, it's kind of getting expensive for a cheap device... (Ubiquiti has a 802.3af adapter for 30 CAD...)
Lead-Acid powered battery backup / Lead-Acid power bank? No LiPo risk of fire, though it would be heavy and inconvenient if it's large... I can't get the Elecom Sodium-Ion battery bank yet, as it's only sold in Japan, and reshippers don't have enough information/SDS data to safely provide the package to the shipping company.
Solar panel in the window of the door. Could charge a small Pb battery or something similar, or just have the device on while it's sunny out?
Thanks
