Are Modern Women the Most Confused Generation in History?

Modern women are the most confused generation in human history and perhaps nobody talks about that openly.

She wants an independent life, yet expects a man to pay for everything. She wants equality, yet still wants a man to protects, provides, plans, and approaches. She wants a masculine man, but sometimes labels masculinity as toxic. She keeps her options open “just in case,” yet still wants commitment.

She wants to be treated like a queen, but brings little to the table that actually helps build a kingdom.

And that confusion isn’t entirely her fault. She was told she could have everything without necessarily having to give anything in return and she believed it.

Now, she has reached 30 feeling alone, disappointed, and wondering why the person she wants doesn’t want her back.

What do you think?

In 3 months, it will be 7 years since COVID started. 🤯

it’s been almost seven years since the world was hit by COVID 19. I still mentally process 2020 as "a couple of years ago" and feel like the two-week lockdown was just yesterday.

Ever since the pandemic, time feels like it's on 3x speed. Is anyone else still completely stuck in the 2020 time warp? My brain is refusing to accept this!

Divorced men and women: Why did your marriage end, and what advice do you have for singles?

I really want to understand the realities of marriage before making that kind of commitment in the future. We talk a lot in our culture about how marriages start, but I think there is a lot of valuable wisdom to learn from why they end.

If you have been through a divorce and feel comfortable sharing your story, I would sincerely love to hear from both genders.

I am hoping to understand a few things:

The breaking point: What was the exact moment or reason you realized the marriage was just not working anymore?

Taking the step: Who actually took the first step to get the divorce, was it you or your partner?

Advice for the future: Looking back now, what is the one thing you think everyone absolutely needs to know, ask, or figure out before getting married?

How do introverts survive their own weddings?

Does anyone else get stressed just thinking about the actual wedding events?

It’s not the marriage part, but the huge social gatherings. You are the center of attention, surrounded by relatives and guests for days. It feels like there is zero time or space to just step away, take a break from the crowd, and recharge your social battery.

Have any of you gone through this? How did you handle being the main focus for so long without burning out? Would love to hear your stories and advice!

Does Anyone Else Go Completely Silent Around New People?

Last week I met one of my university friend after a long time. He was with three of his coworkers, and he introduced me to everyone.

For the first 10-15 minutes, everything went well. We were chatting, laughing, and I felt comfortable. But after that, I suddenly went completely silent.

I didn't know what to say anymore. I kept thinking, "Should I say something? What do I even talk about?" The silence started feeling awkward, and I think they noticed it too. One of them even asked me, "Are you worried about something?"

The strange thing is, if it was just me and my university friend, we could easily talk for two hours without any awkwardness. But when I'm around new people, my mind just goes blank. I struggle to join the conversation, even when I genuinely want to.

Does anyone else experience this?

How do you keep conversations going with people you've just met? Is this just an introvert thing, social anxiety, or something that gets easier with practice?

Where would you invest 20–25k PKR every month for the long term?

If you had 20,000–25,000 PKR to invest every month and your goal was long-term wealth building (10–20+ years), where would you put it?

I'm open to different options like:

  • Pakistani stocks or mutual funds
  • International ETFs (if possible from Pakistan)
  • Gold
  • Real estate funds
  • Crypto (small allocation only)

I'm looking for a strategy with a good balance between risk and long-term returns rather than quick profits.

For those already investing from Pakistan, what has worked well for you, and what would you recommend for someone starting today?

Is it normal to feel uncomfortable deciding on an arranged marriage from just one photo?

I'm a 27-year-old guy from Pakistan, and my family is currently looking for a suitable match for me through the traditional arranged marriage process.

Recently, a proposal came from a family. My parents visited their house and met the girl. They liked her and thought she seemed like a good match.

Initially, the girl's family refused to share her photo. They said they wanted to see me and know about my family first. After they visited us and were satisfied with everything, they finally shared her photo.

Now both families are expecting me to quickly decide whether I "like" her or not.

The problem is... how am I supposed to make such a huge life decision based on a single photo?

The only things I know about her are:

She completed her BBA last year.

She's currently not working.

I have one photo of her.

(some other stuff about her family)

That's it.

I know physical attraction is important, but marriage is about much more than appearance. I don't know her personality, values, communication style, expectations from marriage, or whether we're even compatible.

In many middle-class families in Pakistan, talking or meeting of couple before marriage is often discouraged or kept very limited, which makes this even harder.

I'm not trying to reject the proposal. I just don't feel comfortable saying "yes" or "no" without getting to know the person at least a little.

How can someone realistically get to know their future spouse before an arranged marriage?
