AI info on DM: Fact or Fiction?

Hi all,

Just Googled "Dea Matrona" to learn more about the band, background etc. as a relatively new fan liking their sound, from their earlier recorded with Maimie, to their newer work.

As you can see, this came up 1st in the AI overview section after simply searching "Dea Matrona".

Anyways, just curious if this is true or not as I know AI can be inaccurate? It says they've publicly shared being romantic partners but I couldn't find a source for this.

It also got me thinking that we don't often see relationships within original bands as much these days.

Thanks all!

Is this routine a good start? 27m Beginner

27m, relatively new to calisthenics, started inconsistently in the New Year experimenting with a home workout app, however, I'm feeling much more motivation and enjoyment in trying to build a routine over the past 6 weeks.

I started with purely kettlebell workouts but am now leaning more towards bodyweight basics, push ups, pull up and dips.

I guess I'm really just looking for guidance on structure and how to progress to build muscle.

My main goal is simply to build my arms + shoulders and fill out my sleeves in the upper arm area.

I'm a skinny guy, 5ft 9" and 68kg, seeing small but noticeable progress so far (shoulders growing a bit, lats as well as biceps) which I'm happy with but again, I probably don't have an efficient system in place for progression so would really appreciate guidance on this.

I've shared last week's workouts below as an example:

Monday 27th July:

• x2 Halos + x2 Pullovers, repeated until need to set kettlebell down (10 rounds w/15kg kettlebell, 90 second rest between sets)

Wednesday 29th July:

Push Day (30 seconds between sets)

• x60 Push Ups (x4 15)

• x100 Seated Tricep Dips (x6 15, x1 10)

• x3 Sets of Bottoms Up Presses (15kg Kettlebell, x5 each side)

Friday 31st July:

Pull Day (1 min between sets)

• 12 Pull Ups (x2 6)

• 15 Chin ups (x3 5)

• 60 Kettlebell Rows (x4 15, 30 secs between sets)

Sunday 2nd August:

Push Day (30 seconds between sets)

• x50 Push Ups (x5 10)

• x70 Seated Tricep Dips (x4 15, x1 10)

\*(Slightly less on this day as still feeling DOMS from previous workouts)\*

Thanks in advance!

Singing feels much easier in the morning?

Anyone else find their singing feels easier first thing in the morning?

Specifically singing in head and mix voice (27 Y/O Male here), it's bright and resonant, with good cord closure in the morning.

As the day progresses (whether I've been singing in the morning or not), this disappears and head voice vocals start feeling stuck in the throat with poor cord closure, leading to a falsetto sound for notes above F#4, and a pulling sensation in the throat for the mid-upper 4th octave.

Anything above F4 or so feels like I'm pulling chest, whereas first thing in the morning, I can sing notes from F4 to C#5 relatively easily; everything feels light and relaxed, yet bright and resonant.

Pain in the ass as I'd much rather this the other way around considering rehearsals, gigs etc. all take place at night.

Thanks in advance!

(Lowest comfortable sustained note is an F2 if that gives any insight)

Received Diagnosis this week: Thoughts and Questions

Hi all,

What is says on the tin really, I had my autism assessment earlier this week (Tuesday 7th July but booked since early March) and as suspected, was confirmed autistic.

For context, I'm 27M, and have always felt different from others, like an outsider or observer in social interactions, groups etc.

I compare it to an alien trying to fit in; hyper-aware of and tracking others actions and expressions, yet often unable to interact back in a smooth, natural way like NTs.

Anyways, I'm now realising that I've been heavily masking most of my life, and what I thought for years was social anxiety (which has gotten less severe with therapeutic work but still present) was indeed autism.. better late than never!

However, my main reason for seeking diagnosis was due to an inability to engage romantically, whether casually or in relationships.

Sad to say, but all my intimate and romantic interactions from about age 14 onwards have been while drinking, and usually heavily.

I've always felt very awkward around women I've any romantic interest in and while sober, feel I just can't engage and know what to do next; the whole concept of flirting, creating tension back and forth etc. simply doesn't feel natural to me.

While I'm no oil painting, I've had plenty of opportunities both over the years and recently for dating, and have bottled all of these (when sober) when advances such as flirting or hints are made.

Worth noting that I don't drink much at all these days, the last few years specifically, so very much in a drought lol.

There is a longing for connection and intimacy, yet a feeling of uncertainty around being able to get to that point and sustain it.

I think this may be down to needing to meet someone like-minded, which is likely ND also; a feeling of deeper connection and being on the same "wavelength" emotionally and perspective wise are definitely requirements for a relationship.

So on that note, a quick question on relationships for you all:

  1. Do you think NDs are a better fit romantically with other NDs? Do you yourself prefer to date other NDs, or NTs? And why?

(Some of you may be familiar with the "Double Empathy Problem" coined by David Milton, an autistic researcher)

Thanks in advance 🙏

Upgrade: Redmi Note 9S vs Note 9 Pro?

Hi there,

I had the Redmi Note 9S when it first came out and it was a really great phone, it lasted about 4 years with no issues before the charging port failed.

I then ugraded to the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G, and while it is a great phone (my current phone), the charging port is now failing badly, and there are issues with the power button responding at times.

Do you have any recommendations in the Redmi range for a new phone?

Should I try to find a used Redmi Note 9S in good condition, or should I aim for a newer model?

I know someone who has the Redmi Note 14 and says it is crap compared to the 9S they had previously! (Are the older Redmi models better before they became more popular?)

Thanks!

Best Men's Slim Fit Plain T-Shirts?

What it says on the tin lads, the last haul of plain t-shirts I got (Mainly River Island, some Next) weren't great quality compared to my previous order from both a few years back.

("Rasher" collar and losing shape after a few washes, weakening material etc.)

So, any suggestions on the best places to get plain, slim fit T-shirts online?

Cheers!

Best First Car, €6000 or so budget

What it says on the tin lads, looking for a reliable first car, 27M, budget of around €6000, excluding insurance.

I live rurally but work from home so the average weekly mileage wouldn't be too much, just to get from A to B during the week and to travel further afield every so often.

Currently looking at petrol hatchbacks around the 2015/16 mark, mainly Toyotas.

I'd been looking at Yaris, Auris and also Aquas, though I'm open to suggestions on other models, Toyota or otherwise.

Also, is rust a big issue with Toyotas around these years? I've heard this can be an issue with them over time.

Thanks lads!
