M29 - recent accidents, a bit concerned about future travel

i've had a few bedwetting incidents over the last week, which is what it is - it's never been an issue before but it feels pretty explainable i guess (emotionally a bit overwhelmed, v tired, energy drinks to combat tiredness, drinking with friends - effectively i've created the perfect storm but didn't connect the dots until i'd done some research). while it does feel explainable, i'm also wondering if a trip to the doctor is recommended, or just watch and wait?

i did get some rough news about my mum's health this week, and i wonder if that contributed, because the only two times i had accidents as a child were when there were family issues - is it likely at all?

i guess i want to know what to look out for in future so i can be prepared, it does feel strange this happening twice in three nights after over 15 years of never wetting the bed.

potentially it could happen again and the factors playing in are maybe more likely when i'm away from home - staying with my family will be emotionally turbulent, staying with my fiancé's family always involves a booze up, extended social interaction wears me out and i'm always dead to the world when it comes to sleeping afterwards.

i already had some adult nappies having caught a food bug last year so it's not a massive deal that this is happening, especially when it feels pretty temporary (never combining energy drinks with alcohol ever again, and i'm not a frequent drinker, this week has been an exception) - if i can get through the next few nights without using them they can go back in the cupboard

wearing the nappies doesn't bother me, it's better than actually wetting my bed or someone else's, but i'd rather my parents/in-laws didn't find out, and if i do end up needing one i'll also need to dispose of it which would be tricky to do discretely in someone else's home.

could be that i'm really overthinking this and it's too early to start thinking about this stuff, but i guess the peace of mind of knowing how to deal with it would be nice?

Trying to delete my account (MacOS)

I've been trying to delete my account, but need to create a password to do so. In order to create my password, I need to verify my email address. When I request the verification link, nothing turns up in my inbox.

I have:

- checked the socials folder

- checked the spam and junk folders

- checked every folder

This is the email listed in my profile, so I'm not sure what to do at this point, but I would just love to be able to delete the account asap.

Thanks!

Student noise / behaviour in Crookesmoor - any guidance?

Not to be a grumpy old 29y/o, I get that this is a student heavy neighbourhood and that's wonderful, but the last few days the end of year behaviour has been rough.

Last night a group of students had an outdoor thing in their garden until 2:45am, and while it's lovely to know they're making use of the warm weather and getting to let off steam after exams, there was literally no volume control. From a couple hundred meters away, every word and laugh was audible. Even if it had ended at 1-ish, that would have been something, but it was literally getting light before they finished up. I asked them three times to just lower the volume a bit, and was ignored every time (ie. standing at their fence at 2:30am and being ignored).

A couple nights before, another house had a group of girls do a top-volume singalong outdoors at 2am. We had some football lads playing ear splitting music until midnight in the garden opposite us - and fair play, when asked to turn it down at 12:15 they absolutely did. But what's up with this cohort? - it's 7 years since my undergrad and 5 years since my postgrad and honestly I do not recall anyone behaving like this back then.

We've also had students use our bin to put their rubbish in because they missed their bin collection (if they'd asked we would've said yes, but we just found our black bin full up because of them), and the overflowing rubbish from other bins was just left to rot in the street for days on end during the heatwave.

I get that it's the end of the year, and that because they're all heading off for the summer, it probably feels like consequences for antisocial behaviour are going to be fleeting or nonexistent - especially since lettings agents and landlords can't do much at this point with tenancies ending in a couple days.

Nonetheless, kinda mind boggling how lacking in self-awareness and thoughtfulness some of the student body is. I know the vast majority know how to manage themselves and that it's always a small minority that end up drawing attention, but any guidance on how to confront this. My instinct would be to go to the unis and talk to them, but unless you know whether they're Hallam or UOS students, it's going to be tricky for the unis to do much.

Crookesmoor - continuous bass beat

I'm new to the area and am delighted to be living in Sheffield, but had a query about a neighbour. I think he's in social housing down the same back street I'm living on, and over the last few days has been playing very loud music pretty continuously - today I think he's totalled about seven/eight hours of the exact same bass beat in 2-3 hour shifts. If you're anywhere near Ivy Drive you might have picked up on it too? Tbh it's driving me slightly mad, and as much as I don't want to be difficult about it having literally just moved it, I can hear this bass beat nonstop from every corner of my house.

The fella seems a bit vulnerable and I don't want to do anything to upset or disturb him, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any guidance on how to handle it? Especially during the heatwave when windows kinda need to be open, it's beginning to feel a bit selfish to have such loud music playing so relentlessly.
