SONY definitely outdid themselves this time

So yeah, I just got myself the XM6 earbuds and I did not expect these to blow me away. I had the Sennheiser MTWS4 but broke and had to send them away for warranty so I bought these bad boys since they were on sale for $320cad. For reference, I also own the WH1000XM5’s don’t like how they sound, bloated, muddy etc. Tried the xm6’s and damn idk which one is better at this point, these or the Sennheisers. Good job SONY

JBL Live Buds 3

Hey y'all

So my Sennheiser MTWS4 gave up on me out of nowhere, left bud decided to break while the right bud still works, all the touch functions on both earbuds still works even the wear detection on both so I sent to them to get warrantied.

So while that's happening I bought the JBL live buds 3 to use as my dailys while I wait for my replacements. I get home, tested them, and jeez.... Very disappointing, before I bought these I watched some reviews from flossycarter and Aaron x Loud and Wireless just to name a couple and they seem very happy with it. Tried all the options in the settings and nothing seem to sound good. Am I missing something?

Please help

RMA questions for TWS4

Hey y'all

So my TWS4 gave up on me out of nowhere, left bud decided to break while the right bud still works, all the touch functions on both earbuds still works even the wear detection on both.

Called up Sennheiser and filed a warranty claim and my earbuds are on the way to them as we speak and they told me that they will try to repair it and if it's deemed unrepairable, they will replace it with a brand new one.

Now my questions are:

How long will it take for them to complete my warranty after receiving my pair?

Does bestbuy receipt work as proof of purchase?

What are the chances of it being denied of warranty?

How common is this problem to happen to a Sennheiser product?

What happens if a product is approved of warranty but that same product is discontinued? (Hypothetically)

Did y'all also pay for shipping?

Thanks.

Wiring management help and improvements help.

Hey everyone,

I'm still pretty new to the audiophile world and am learning as I go when it comes to setting up these kinds of speaker chains.

Right now, I'm looking for some advice on how to cleanly hide my rat's nest of wires for my desktop setup. I also wanted to see if there are any obvious tweaks or small replacements I should make to get the absolute best out of the gear I currently have.

My Current Chain:

  • Source: PC running Tidal (Exclusive Mode)
  • DAC: SMSL SU-1
  • Amp: Fosi Audio BT20A Max (Using the 32V power supply, 80Hz HPF switch is turned ON)
  • Speakers: KEF Q150
  • Subwoofer: Polk Audio PSW10 (connected via sub out and the frequency knob at the back turned up to 160hz )

1. The Wire Situation

Between the PC cables, DAC USB, RCA runs, speaker wire, and the massive power bricks for the Fosi and the PC, it’s a total mess behind the desk. Since I'm still learning the best practices here, what are your favorite budget-friendly ways to route and tuck away wires so they aren't visible from the front? Split loom? Under-desk baskets? J-channels? Let me know what worked best for your setups.

2. Crossover & Tweak Check

I turned the 80Hz HPF switch ON on the Fosi amp to roll off the deep bass going to the KEFs so they can focus on the mids and highs.

I originally had the subwoofer's low-pass filter maxed out at 160Hz, but I'm realizing that causes a messy overlap. I'm turning the Polk PSW10's crossover knob on the back down to around 80Hz so it meets the KEFs right where they drop off.

  • Does that 80Hz hand-off point sound right to you guys for this gear? The Polk is definitely the weakest link here, so I want to blend it as smoothly as possible.
  • As a beginner, are there any other free or cheap tweaks (placement, using the KEF foam port plugs, desktop isolation pads) I should look into to optimize this space?

Appreciate any tips or constructive criticism you've got for a learner!

Method 360 ANC help

Yo guys,
Soooo I recently bought the Method 360 ANC since they were on sale for $100cad because my Sennheiser MTW4 earbuds broke in the middle of my gym sesh, so the skull candies are my daily earbuds as for now while getting the Sennheiser warranty’d. Anyways, they feel good in the ear they’re not as heavy as they look. But damn how do I make them sound good? I did the V shape EQ thing and it only sounds halfway decent. I tried changing my playback settings through my music app (tidal) and nothing worked. Are there anymore things I haven’t tried that yall tried and it worked? Thanks

Hey everyone,

I just pulled the trigger on a new "Chi-Fi" stack: the SMSL SU-1 DAC and the Fosi Audio BT20A MAX. I’m still waiting to get everything wired up, but I wanted to see if anyone else here is running this specific combo.

My Current Setup:

Speakers: KEF Q150

Sub: Polk PSW110

Previous Amp: Yamaha HTR-3067 (basically an entry-level 5.1 AVR)

A few questions for the experts:

Sound Quality: For those who moved from an older budget AVR to a dedicated Class D amp like the BT20A MAX (TPA3255 chip) and a modern AKM DAC like the SU-1, what should I expect? I’m hoping for a cleaner noise floor and maybe a bit more detail in the highs.

Efficiency/Power: The Q150s aren’t the most sensitive speakers in the world (86dB). Is the BT20A MAX going to have enough juice to really make them sing compared to the Yamaha?

Sub Integration: Since the BT20A MAX has a dedicated sub out, how are you guys finding the crossover/integration?

I’m excited to move away from the massive footprint of the AVR to something that actually fits on my desk, but I’m curious if I’ll actually hear a "step up" or just a "sideways" move in terms of actual audio fidelity.

Appreciate any insights!
