A married couple gets a $500,000 exclusion from federal income tax does that exclusion apply to IRMAA too?

Like so many other seniors the value of our home has gone way up in the past couple of years. If we make say $350,000 in profit on the sale my understanding is that we do not have to pay federal income tax on that profit, but does that $350,000 count toward IRMAA?

I have severe osteoporosis and I would like a second opinion on treatment. I have already been on fosamax for 4.5 years and I was told that I can’t take a drug holiday. But my doctor recommended one drug and didn’t explain the advantages and disadvantages of any other drugs. I didn’t even know there were different options. I would like someone that would talk to me about the options. Preferably not someone associated with Capital Health. TIA

I am just curious if you had any signs that you were having a problem before it was diagnosed. Did you have leg pain or jaw pain before you had a problem? I am particularly interested to know about any symptoms prior to the broken leg?

I don’t really have much else to wear. Maybe black wool pants, but I only have one pair of them.

Is there a method for doing this that is more efficient than picking it off bit by bit with your fingertips? Is there a solution that loosens it? I usually rub it with a washcloth but that doesn’t help much and I still have to pick it off. Any advice? TIA

We are planning a trip there and our celiac child will be with us. I would love to be able to eat out with her at least one time. TIA

My doctor is recommending Prolia, which is an osteoporosis medicine that is quite expensive and once you start it you are on it for life. I am not on medicare yet, and my current insurance would cover it, but if it is not covered under my medigap I may talk to my doctor about an alternative medicine. If it is under Part D it is very expensive.

Last night at the Sabres game in Buffalo the singer’s mic wasn’t working during Oh Canada. No problem, the Buffalonians just jumped right in to sing. They were loud and they clearly love their Canadian neighbors. I can confirm that this is true having grown up in Buffalo.
