Gutting the cat
Does anyone have any experience with gutting the cat on a 2001-2003 Honda Civic EX?

I’m looking for headers for my 2003 Honda Civic EX, and I’ve been trying to find Megan Racing headers (MR-SSH-HC117) specifically, but I can’t seem to find them sold anywhere anymore.
Does anyone know where I could still find a set of Megan Racing headers? If they’re too hard to come by, what other headers would you recommend for the 2001-2003 Civic EX?
I’m planning on getting a muffler custom-fabbed just cause I don’t have the money for some crazy exhaust system online, but I wanted to spend the money to replace my headers.
Any recommendations or links would be appreciated!
I got this camera for my birthday and these are some of the pictures I’ve taken in the past three days. This is my very first camera and if anyone has any recommendations, feel free to comment them on this post!
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to add fog lights to my car and I’m stuck between yellow or clear. Also, if anyone has installed a fog light kit on their pre-facelift 7th gen, what kit did you use and would you recommend it? Looking for something that’s worked well for you.
One other thing I’m trying to figure out is where to put the fog light switch.
As you can see, most of the factory switch spots in my car are already occupied, so I’m not sure where the cleanest place to mount it.
Any suggestions/pics of your setups (exterior and interior) would be appreciated!
Hello! I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX 4D that I bought back in October. It has about 132k miles. For the last couple months, the check engine light randomly comes on and turns off. I scanned the codes and it came back with a "p0420" code, "catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1".
I know there are several different possible issues that it could be, but I was wondering how I can narrow it down and figure out where my issue is. If it really is the catalytic converter, I do not plan on replacing it because it’s just far too expensive and I would prefer some way to bypass it because I do have required emissions testing in my state. My dad has the same code on his Altima and it hasn’t had any serious problems, but I would like to try to resolve the issue.
So, how can I narrow it down and figure out my issue.
Thank you!
As of yesterday, my car shut off twice at the light after idling weird. It was almost like it stalled, but it’s an automatic transmission. It has been idling weird at low speeds and at the light recently, but only as of yesterday has it turned off on me.
When I scanned for the codes, it had a new P0420 Catalyst-System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 code. Upon researching, I found that it could be caused by air intake leaks, and considering how loose that connector looked, I feel like that might be my issue. When I stalled at the light yesterday, I didn’t need to jumpstart it or anything, which makes me think it isn’t anything with my alternator going bad.
If anyone knows any other possibilities on why my car has been having this issue, please share your experience and thoughts!
Hey everyone! I’m new to the air compressor industry, and I’m looking to buy my first air compressor for my home garage.
I’m stuck between the KOBALT QUIET TECH 26-Gallon Portable Electric Vertical Air Compressor (150 PSI) and the MCGRAW 21-Gallon Oil-Free Vertical Shop/Auto Air Compressor (175 PSI).
I would mainly use it for inflating tires, running air tools occasionally (impact wrench, rachet, etc.), cleaning/detailing cars with an air blow gun, painting, general garage projects (sanding).
From what I can tell, the Kobalt QUIET TECH has a larger 26-gallon tank and is supposed to be much quieter, while the MCGRAW has a higher max pressure (175 PSI) but slightly smaller 21-gallon tank.
They are both oil-free vertical compressors. How much of a difference does it make if they are oil-free or not?
I am looking to compare noise level, reliability/longevity, actual airflow (CFM) performance, and value for the money
If you were buying today for a home garage, which one would you go with? If you have any other recommendations for around the same price range, please feel free to comment them below.
Thanks for any advice!
