Toe Cap Placement in Relation to Toe Puff Question

Is the leather toe cap placed in relation to the toe puff for all sized boots?

More specific question: for those of you who have a larger sized boot, does your toe cap seam run along the same line as the end of your toe puff?

I only have one pair of toe capped boots and they end at the same place, but I have a small boot. I'm ASSUMING they are sized in relation to each other, but wanted to double check before placing a custom pair. (I also checked photos and it seems that this is the case)

Thanks!

Priority Pass - Minute Suites New Cleaning Fee - anyone encountered this?

I use my Amex priority pass to get into minute suites when available hence why posting in the some

This morning at ATL I was charged $6 to enter Minute Suites as part of an enhanced cleaning procedure. Was too tired to remember to snap a photo of the sign but the attendant wasn’t sure if it was permanent.

Anyone else run into this recently and if so, which airport? Do many people even use these suites?

Dreams do come true: an UL scrunchie now exists

For those of you who’ve let their locks flow free because you couldn’t bear the weight of a hair tie… thanks to High Mnt Gear you can now officially pull that hair back without adding much to your overall weight

Dyneema Scrunchie

I searched the sub and didn’t see anyone post this but apologize if this is a repeat. This product gave me a chuckle but its also a near idea from a smaller brand for those always on the hunt to out ultralight themselves

also sorry no flair seemed to fit this properly

edited cottage to say smaller

Did this sub change how you order DoorDash?

For context, I’m not a DoorDash driver but this is a specific question about this sub:

This sub pops up a lot for me. Probably because I read the stories so it keeps popping up. I rarely order doordash becuase fees and tips (which I do assume are part of the order) are often more than the food I want and so, logically, if I don’t want to spend that much I don’t order.

that being said…is there anyone else who lurks here who, after reading from the driver’s perspective, changed how they interact with DoorDash? do you tip more, order from different places, etc?

For me, I think I gave up on it. I love the idea that people can do this as a job or a side gig but it sounds like DoorDash is a terrible company and the many drivers hate it and I really don’t want to support a predatory company, which sucks because I wish it was a good way for people to get gigs when they need it. also I learned never to order from Taco Bell.

trying not to be ethnocentric!

I’ve notice in Argentina (in the towns and cities I’ve been) people feel free to listen to their phones on speaker and no one around seems bothered by it.

So, curious, if I’m in quiet coffee shop in a small town (like now) and one person is listening to their music on speaker, can I ask them to turn it off or would that be considered rude (my country listening to speaker is rude so we can tell people to turn it off but it could be something that is not done ever in Argentina, so Ive been leaving if it annoys me too much vs in my country where I can ask them to be quiet and they usually will)

(not asking for solutions as I know I can leave or wear headphones etc but just curious about the cultural norms).

edit to say I really appreciate the feedback! In my country if you tell someone they may get mad but they will turn it down. I think you are all right and unless I’m going to dig in myself it may not be worth it. But perhaps the next 3 hour flight will take a Chance

Can anyone recommend a taxi or shuttle from El Cheltan to Rio Electrico Bridge for tomorrow May 2? (I know it’s last minute and low season)

my hostel recommended a private taxi for 60,000 pesos which seems steep (although if that’s the rate that’s the rate - I did try to negotiate with cash vs card)so wondering if anyone else knows of another last minute option that might be more economical. happy to do any group options / shared taxis as well!

(I’ve messaged every single company on WhatsApp and others found on reddit but given it’s no longer busy I’m not sure they’ll answer)

Overthinking alert!

Hiking Fitz Roy on Saturday (last minute)

Planned on renting poles in El Chalten on Friday, but the place with good reviews (Viento Oeste) is closed due to holiday

So, do I rent poles in El Calafate at a well reviewed place or the poorly reviewed places in El Chaltén?

El Calafate pros: well rated shop, open, can get snacks for hikes as well. Cons: will add at Least 2 hours into my day and will not get to El Chaltén until 20:30ish

El Chaltén pros: easier to rent, can settle In sooner. Cons: open shops are not well rated (BajoZero and Camping World)

let me know if you think the el chaltén places are fine for a weekend or if I should show up with poles from El Calafate (or if there is a better option that online research did not show)

thanks!
