Listen to your body

I was LUCKY, We caught it early (Non-small cell, lung), I had it removed, and no trace left.

BEST advice I can give - LISTEN to your body - and if you need to ARGUE with your doctor DO IT!!!!!! I had a mole on the opposite side that did not feel right - I went back 3 times saying "something is wrong" - They FINALLY scheduled me for a CT and found the cancer at stage 1.

I have to go back for a "follow up" with my "primary" - She and my secondary - are both "out" for the month. Fine I will see the nurse - THEN I am changing doctors

Positive Thoughts from Negative results.

I just had a wedge resection (last week) and I got the results back. ( any advice on how to fckn sleep with this pain I would appreciate it!)

They got it ALL, it was non small cell, The margins were clean and The lymph nodes were lean also. This was the best birthday present I could have gotten.

I feel that FOR ME, having it removed instead of biopsy then removal was the best option. Have a friend who went the radiation route 1st, he just had another biopsy done, and we are waiting for his results ( I wish he would stop smoking cigarettes ( but I will NOT say anything)).

Need to vent

I (F 60’s) newly diagnosed with lung cancer – will be going in for surgery in a few weeks. Petrified and actually very angry.

How it was diagnosed was, I “just did not feel right” and had phantom pain, Kept going to the dr over and over. They listened to my lungs and they sounded fine … Finally they had me do a ct for a “study” and they found a nodule. And the PETCT found it suspicious.

It is still small… but what if I did not keep complaining? To many younger people, my age is OLD, but I still have many goals, mastering Tai Chi for one.

I am hoping to find some people to chat with (here) that have gone through this.

Finding fellow Witches

I have a fairly new set of friends. I know they are very earthy (strong botany work). I met a new person and it was mentioned before hand that she was a Wiccan(?). After the party, my friend mentioned that, this lady knows a lot about witchy things. I am sure she would be a green witch, and that is what I am interested in.

I kind of know the "rules", Should I flat out ask if my friend practices? I would love to learn more and have some guidance on the journey. I did make general comments about loving to learn. I would be SO excited to find a coven of people to share this.

I do not want to offend anyone ( my fear).

I do NOT understand jar candle collections.

I am NOT judging. But I don't understand these 100's -1000's of dollars in candle collections. I get candles to burn and enjoy ( OK I make them but that is a different story). These collections are going to end up being old, unscented or off scented, crappy burning candles in a few years. Candles degrade with time if not stored correctly (cool, dry, dark, airtight seal). Is it just wanting a collection/ bragging rights?

I do not want to insult - I just really do NOT understand

Positive affirmations are a form of brainwashing

I Have been told yes, BUT it is good brain washing. OK, So is going to a mega church and listening to their sermons. You feel good after - so what is the problem with them?

I fight and hate propaganda and always have been told that brainwashing is bad. So the positive affirmations I am supposed to be telling myself (lies in my mind), and I am supposed to at one point finally believe them? That is brainwashing - is this just preparing us for more of the same? What are we supposed to tell ourselves next "one of us - one of us"?

I understand life is a series of brainwashing - education in the usa " swallow these facts and regurgitate them on command". I never really learned much till AFTER school ( I was an b- student (hated homework, aced all tests)) TV commercials - propaganda ( much of it false) etc. I am tired of being told " be yourself - but tell yourself this is who you are"

I have wanted to look for some graves of people who were not ALLOWED to be buried in the church graveyard. It may sound strange to some, but I want to honor them. Does anyone have any idea's if they have been mostly moved to public cemeteries? Also, is it disrespectful to ask the office where the oldest sites are?
