Closer to my bio hairs color and density… but able to behave in a way my hair could never!!

Now I finally get to experience having “good” hair! Who cares if I bought it! 😅

Haus of Gloi Tackle Box

I love a good organization solution so thought I’d show off this $1 container and how perfectly it holds my H.O.G collection. These need to be sorted but in theory will hold the four seasons plus my full sized. (And im forbidding myself from purchasing any more as I’m clearly at capacity!)

Prairie Fire Stan in the making over here.

This is my second Prairie Fire wig and my first new purchase and I’m THRILLED with this company. I feel like I’m finally getting comfortable wearing wigs after a crash course from sudden hair loss and I can’t say enough about how much of a difference having a quality product like this makes. The urge to gatekeep is STRONG but y’all have been so wonderful and supportive so I had to share. 💗

Today’s new treatment plan 🫩

At my yearly exam today I did make slight progress in talking about HRT (was completely shut down last year). I think the practitioner was a bit more empathetic since I’m now wearing a wig as my hair has fallen out (and I’m sure lack of hormones have played their role in this)

However it’s still a firm “no” to transition to HRT from BCP since in her words I’m still having periods. I gently pushed back that I’m having a withdrawal bleed from the blanks in the birth control pack, but that I don’t always do so, and occasionally will spot at other times. I reminded her this isn’t a true period and that I had gone over 2 years in my late 20s before being placed on birth control for my low estrogen. Also reminded her that I have a prolactinoma which is further suppressing my estrogen.

The offered treatment plan is to stop my birth control and wait the full year for me to technically reach menopause and THEN I might get a transdermal patch! I told her this was a hard sell to have to give up estrogen for over a year to “earn” the privilege to be given some. She said she understood but held firm to this being the only option other than to continue as is.

I’m exhausted, yall.

Physical Assessments

Just wanted to see what other facilities expectations are for physical assessments. I attended a meeting today about new charting requirements and the expectations are wildly out of line with what I feel I’m able to achieve. I start with 13 patients but often will have up to 17-18 over the course of a day with transfers and new admissions.. and they really expect that I can listen to heart/lungs/breath/bowels on everyone. This feels over the top to me but wanted to see what others thought.

A completely different style for me! (Feeling like I’m on the right track)

I purchased a used Prairie Fire wig wanting to check out their craftsmanship and see what a difference a correct fitting cap and lower density made. This is not my usual choice of color and I’ve never had my hair this short but.. I’m kinda digging it?! I need to play around with it more but did a side swept Margot Tenenbaum thing and for the first time got excited about the possibilities of changing my look frequently. I’ve been spiraling about my hair loss recently and experiencing lots of feelings of hopelessness but hope has been renewed that this company is serious quality and that I’ll find what I’m looking for. Lesson learned about cap size and density! Off to start my new indie band with my new lewk!

Hiding hairline for first attempt to wear in public.. a solution or another misstep? 🤔

I cut the lace of my practice wig from amazon. I lack the knowledge to know how badly I’ve messed it up, but the sparseness of the front feels too obvious. Gonna practice wearing it in public for the first time (to the glamorous locale of Costco) but panicked and threw on a headband to hide it. Is this a quality issue from the wig or poor application from my end? Should I add some more scar tape or will that make it more obvious? On a 1-10 scale how bad is the headband solution? 😂

Having a hard time dealing with my hair loss. First time trying wigs. Would love some support 🥺💗

This is a 25 dollar Amazon wig, just to get me used to wearing one. I also ordered a hair vivi one but feel so intimidated by the lace front. This is hard, yall. I’ve always had baby fine hair that kind of sucked so while I’m not mourning losing a beautiful head of hair, I just feel so.. strange. Maybe having volume for the first time in my life is throwing me off? 😂
