A lot of people complain about gay apps, but what do you actually want instead?
Hey, a couple of months ago, I deleted all the dating apps for the god knows how manyth time and decided to meet people only in real life. With so many AI content flooding the internet, I feel like meeting people in real life is the only way to be sure that someone is real, at least physically.
But I quickly realized it is not that easy to find what is actually out there.
As a software engineer, I decided to build a gay map and event platform that puts everything gay in one place. I built it for myself, but hopefully it can be useful for the gay community as well.
The core idea is to help people discover gay venues and events effortlessly, but also to make it easy for anyone to start and list their own events on the platform, whether that is a local gay movie night, brunch, reading club, running club, or anything else people want to do with other gay people.
There are already some events hosted by gay venues and individual people in Berlin (where I live), and the site is getting steady users from social media and Google search.
But before I build more features and before it reaches more people, I’d like to pause and hear from you guys.
Would something like this be useful to you too?
If not, what would make it useful instead of just another app?
If yes, what else should be included in the platform?
Honest feedback, ideas, and contributions are all very welcome.
Thanks :)
