I recently got a QNAP TR-004 and two 6tb Ironwolfs (in RAID1). I have to admit it's noisier than I expected/hoped. It's for a bedroom setup and I need it to be DAS so that my Backblaze 1-computer subscription will include it in the backups.

I know there's no quiet solution here. The TR-004 doesn't appear to be dampened at all internally and the Ironwolfs have quite a loud read/write. I've read WD Red Plus are bit quieter but I'm hesitant to change everything out unless it's a noticeable difference.

I would appreciate some advice how to find the best option for my mother's treatment for colon cancer.

It's a long story, but the short version is that the two local consultants will not offer the required surgery due to fears over her ability to recover. This is due to her general level of health because of long term M.E. The main consultant has however offered a referral for a 3rd opinion outside of the primary care trust. A 'fresh set of eyes' as he put it.

We're based near Manchester and he offered Salford. This may well be a very good option but I don't know how to research this further to verify this. I would like to explore all options as this is very much the last chance for mum.

What is the best way to find out more information on hospitals which specialise in this area? I have of course googled but I am getting conflicting information.

I'm sure you may be thinking that if two surgeons have concerns over her having surgery then there is good cause for that. And yes that is true. The two main issues are mum's low activity/energy level and her AF (Atrial Fibrillation). 

Mum doesn't have the same activity level of an average 78 year old with regards to mobility etc. But she can still walk around the house, walk to appointments from the car, prepare meals and other things. She wasn't able to complete the request CPET test due to her health and this was the main stumbling block for the surgeons. But, we have gotten the distinct impression that they don't fully understand M.E and are conflating low energy with frailty. She is not frail in the traditional sense. She does have a recently diagnosed Atrial Fibrillation but whilst they have some concerns over that it doesn't seem to be the main issue. 

Another reason we feel it's worth pursuing further is that we know of other M.E patients (some worse than my mum) who have undergone similarly serious operations and come out the other side of it. Admittedly, all examples I could find were younger but some had much more severity of illness.

I choose 'Keep the game updated automatically' but there all these listed under the extra tab. I'm presuming these patches will be automatically installed but I wanted to check.

I'm trying to build this in Bedrock, but I think the reason it's not working is some difference between Java and Bedrock.

The redstone torch with the blue arrow is not pulsing when the sticky piston retracts. Probably quasi related? but I don't know how to get the dropper on the right side to send the item back to the other dropper that it's facing, whilst also keeping this build one block wide.

My mum wants to make a will as a 'just in case', as she's due to undergo risky surgery soon. Dad died 3 years ago and I'm her only child. She just wants everything to pass to me but she wants to make that is as easy as possible so that I don't have any future legal/admin headaches.

When dad died, he didn't have a will but everything automatically passed to mum once a death certificate was provided. So my first question is, is a will needed when I'm the only next of kin?

If a will is needed, is there an easy option where can just she state 'I wish all my possessions etc to go to my son' and that's all that's needed? Or is it more complex? I'm guessing it's no doubt more complicated than that but I wanted to ask before I go down the road of using some sort of website that will charge for the service.

She recently had a colonoscopy and there was a suspicious area in her transcolon. Around 8 biopsies were taken. The result was pre-cancerous cells. The consultant is saying that there's no way of knowing if it's cancerous underneath without surgery to remove it and resection the bowel. In his words it looks 'suspicious' from the photos but he was non-committal beyond that.

My mother is 78 and has fairly severe ME/CFS (mostly housebound). The consultant was very negative about her chances of recovery due to how intensive the surgery is and the possible complications. He also said that there were no non-surgical options such a chemo as it wouldn't affect this area/this type of issue).

My question is: Is there really no way of further determining the state of the bowel in that area without full surgery to remove it? It's a huge risk for my mum to undergo this when it's not clear if it's absolutely necessary. I know the pre-cancerous cells would likely turn cancerous at some point but it's also possible she'd die from something else long before that became a concern.

I'm have no experience with buying fossils and so I wanted to ask you guys for advice before proceeding. I'd like to buy my mum a piece of amber with a spider (or possibly other insect). I'm based in the UK. After googling, it seems fossils-uk.com are a legitimate company but I wanted to see if there were others that are recommended?

Something around 2cm or larger but my budget is limited, so would have to be under £100.
