Would having a pinned/ highlighted thread for pack modifications be a good idea?

I was just thinking with a bunch of us receiving our Hasbro '84 packs, in addition to packs from HalloweenCostumes and Spirit as well as home-made packs, would it make sense to create an all-encompassing pinned/stickied thread for pack modifications/upgrades?

Instead of multiple threads being created asking the same questions, with the same resources being cited, we can have one big thread with links to part vendors, Etsy stores, etc as well as a place to ask questions and help each other out, share achievements.

Sorry if this has already been proposed and isn't allowed, I searched the sub before writing this an unless my search terms were way off, I couldn't find anything like what I'm suggesting. I also read the rules of the sub and unless I'm mistaken, I think something like this should be allowed.

Unless, this isn't allowed because sources would be third-party and not authorized like Sony, Hasbro, etc.

Just a thought I had.

Got my '84 pack and...

I can't believe I actually have it. I've wanted one since I was 5 years old. For years I contemplated saving up to buy one from a prop builder. Then when Spirit released theirs, I was saving to buy one of those.

Then Hasbro announced this pack and the decision of which pack I'd buy was made.

When I ordered it a year ago, I thought I'd be happy with it as it is. After all, it's going to be a display piece. I'm not a cosplayer, so it should be fine without any modifications. Just having one would be amazing, a life-long dream come true!

I was able to snag an '84 wand shortly after preordering the pack. I absolutely love the wand and didn't mind the orange tip at the time. I thought "Who cares about an orange tip when we have official props that are this accurate and detailed?" Kid me would be over the moon.

I received my pack this past Sunday. I've taken it out of the box and...and it's beautiful! I finally have a proton pack! That being said, I've only attached the hose and that's as far as I've gone because...

I can't believe I'm writing this but, while I absolutely love it, I'm actually thinking of doing some minor modifications. I don't like the straps that came with it and it does have the pre-drilled holes for an ALICE frame. So, I'm going to buy the brackets and a frame for it.

And now that I have both the pack and wand, that gosh darned orange tip sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm not confident enough to take the entire wand apart to replace the entire tube. I did come across a seller on Etsy who offers acrylic tips as a replacement. So I think I am going to do that.

And the decals that came with the pack. They're fine but for $20 I can buy foil ones that look far more movie accurate.

I'm also thinking of switching out the v-hook to make the wand easier to grab.

Gah! I swore to myself I was going to love it as it came and just be happy to have one. What happened?! LOL!

Anyone else?

Cartoons whose theme song/intro was the best part of the show.

A few days ago, I rediscovered the Dennis The Menace cartoon series from the 1980s on Tubi.

I watched a few episodes and while I remember loving it as a kid, I've gotta say, the intro sequence is/was my favorite part.

I'd also nominate Alvin And The Chipmunks

What other cartoons were just okay but the theme songs were absolute bangers?

This is awesome

Great news for all of us! He’s bringing back Pac-Man arcade games, the classic salad bar, the famous red cups, and family-style booths.

Sparks said his goal is simple: “I want to rebuild places for families to connect and put their phones down.” This is a refreshing move in a world dominated by fast-casual chains and screens.

TIL Garbage Pail Kids were created out of spite for Cabbage Patch Dolls

I'm watching a docuseries on Tubi called "The Toys That Built America" and there's an episode about Cabbage Patch Dolls.

There's a segment about how at the height of the doll's popularity, Topps reached out to Xavier Roberts, who owned the copyright for CPD about producing Cabbage Patch Kid trading cards. Roberts found trading cards in general to be low brow and said no.

So out of spite, Topps artist Art Spiegelman created Garbage Pail Kids to lampoon Cabbage Patch Dolls.

Unrelated but Spiegelman is also the author of the excellent graphic novel Maus.

TIL

EDIT: Garbage Pail Kids being a parody of Cabbage Patch Dolls wasn't the point. That was always obvious. I thought it was interesting that GPK were only created out of spite because they were turned down for a license.
