Things that we take for granted on Earth, but are exceedingly rare throughout the Universe

I saw a post on FB about a month ago that I can't quit thinking about but it said something like..

"We tend to put more value on things that are sparcely available to a majority of people, like natural diamonds, gold, gemstones etc. But something like a piece of wood is basically valueless and in fact we have been using it as a heat source for hundreds of thousands of years. Just burning it up.. Have you ever stopped and thought about how exceedingly rare something like a wooden toothpick is amongst the entire universe? Especially when compared to gold, which is pretty much everywhere.."

What other things do we take for granted here on Earth that a theoretical extraterestrial civilization would find exotically rare and possibly valuable due to it's scarcity?
