So I guess I’m going from lit rpg and progression to just progression. Maybe it’s because I’m strictly an audiobook listener, but I just can’t stand anymore status screens and just several minutes at a time of just numbers.

Maybe I’m weird, and it would be different if I read instead of listened.

On that note, stuff like Cradle, Bastion and Mark of the Fool are my jam. What do you guys recommend in that area? Finished series would be great but I’m aware that’s a fairly short list, so if there’s at least a decent amount to dive into I’ll take it.

Just curious if others didn’t really care for it like I did. I found it tried a bit too hard to have some of the quirkiness value of DCC without having any real plot to hook me. Plus some stuff just didn’t really line up, like the dude lusting over other girls while literally the day before being upset he’ll never see his fiance again.

I wanna know, what words or phrases do you read/hear in books that just make you eyeroll? Generally things that are repeated across multiple books all the time?

I’m curious if you guys like music and sound effects in incremental games. Personally, the first thing I do whenever I start one is immediately go in and turn off all sound.

I’m a big fan of magic research and have some ideas to try to make something similar.

I’m not sure how to get started though. What program or coding is used to make games like that?

AI disclosure: I did not use AI to ask you guys where to start on making games… because that’s a thing we apparently have to say.

I’m curious as to how well someone who has literally never touched EverQuest would enjoy the game. Is it enjoyable for someone who has zero nostalgia? Personally I love a good mob grind, and it sounds like this game does it, but wondering if it would be overwhelming for a non-EQ veteran. Especially since there’s no trial or demo.

Other than the two big boys (WoW/FfXIV), what MMOs think has the best/most rewarding/fun endgame? Something more than just the continuous RNG roll for slightly better gear.

I played a lot of Wow and some FFXIV, but have never touched FFXI. The people who talk about it seem to think it’s the best thing ever.

I’ve literally never seen it, so again my question: Is it viable/worth it to play completely fresh?

I’m looking to get back into a 2D semi-simple mmo. I was a big fan of NexusTk for a while, but it’s pointless to get into now. I know there’s a couple private servers but I’ve seen them shut down in the past so no point investing in those.

Any recommendations?
