I've unfortunately watched every dub it feels, anything else that might give me lil heart flutters?

I like to watch anime while doing something else at the same time with picture in picture, so I've been mostly hitting the dubbed romance. Let me tell you my favorites and give you an idea of what I've seen.

Favorites are easily - I want to end this love game, more than a married couple but not Lovers, ramparts of ice, Tomo is a girl, uzaki wants to hang out, and maybe a tossup between masamunes revenge (it's genuinely ass for most of the run time but a couple of the characters are really well written) or bottom tier tomozaki.

I've seen all the big ones like polar opposites, second prettiest girl, fragrant flower, lvl999 Yamada, wotakoi, toradora, tonikawa, Angel next door, MDUD, lovely complex, gals can't love otaku.

I'm starting to spread out into sub only stuff now with half my time, but it would be really nice to have a few more shows I can check out while I'm doing something mindless on a different monitor.

I've already tried asking copilot gpt and other AI for suggestions a few times and it's getting worse and worse at recommending things now lol. I've also browsed through some top posts here and hit the sticky.

Also if it isn't clear from my favorites, I'm fine with a bit of ecchi/fan service

I really appreciate it! 😁

[spoiler discussion] somewhat worried about the story after arc 6 as a new reader. Give me a little spoilers regarding theme, vibe, and character growth pleaseee

Hey! So Ive been going on a kind of insane run with re zero. I started watching the anime after years and years of the marketing/general way people talked about it making me think it was just typical wish fulfillment isekai slop (no offense).

So in the last month or so I've watched and rewatched everything available in total probably 4 times. Started reading the light novel (just finished arc 6), and have spoiled myself slightly on general viiiibes of some of the future arcs/ifs by doing a little wiki crawling. So I know arc 7 and 8 at least take place outside of l'goonica.

I'm worried that the witch cult, archbishops, Emilias story and history, and the "core" characters (Emilia camp, camps of the Royal selection, and witch cult characters) are being put on the back burner.

This doesn't completely scare me if true. But only if the addition of an entire new country worth of New characters actually feels relevant to the "main" plot of figuring out Emilias nature, fixing the wrongs done by the witch cult, everything with satella.

I could see it falling into the kind of 'slog' of wheel of time books 7-10 if you're familiar with the series.

So far, Tappei has earned my trust as a writer. The way he handles, subverts, and utilizes common tropes is incredible. The way he writes character dynamics. And his ability to foreshadow and use parallels to make resounding emotional points is beautiful. So I feel confident in his writing abilities.

I just wanted to check in that this stuff isn't getting forgotten basically, and that the same emotional lows and highs are present.

▲ 40 r/ReZero

I was so wrong about Re Zero

I first heard about this property when it started making waves online when the anime first came out and pics of Rem and Ram were everywhere. I googled it and read a short description. Guy gets transported to another world full of cute anime girls in maid outfits. It's everything that annoys me about anime and makes things impossible to recommend to people.

I didn't want to watch a show with jiggly anime girls delivering fan service on some no-life loser.

And yeah, okay, there's some of that still. For whatever reason artists in Japan refuse to let their work stand on it's own legs without leaning on the crutch of pretty anime girls to draw in some amount of views.

Which is super strange because this is easily the most CONFIDENTLY written anime I've ever seen. With so many stories that fall apart after a season or two because the writer has created too many threads to be able to draw them together to hit different emotional points. There are breadcrumbs in the first episodes that have real answers later on the series.

Somehow every season gets more interesting, the answers are satisfying and the new questions getting raised are equally enthralling. It's honestly surprising to see the level of care and meticulous planning tappei has put into this. The characters feel genuinely alive, and even the side characters have legitimate development that makes sense.

I know I'm just glazing. But it's really just so refreshing, and complete whiplash, to go from expecting this to be some silly lowest common denominator slice of life. Even something that's complete wish fulfillment fan service for the kind of goobers I imagined this show was for like the first lap-rest scene in episode 8 is so emotionally impactful and allows some really powerful character development for 3 characters.

I'm so bummed that the anime likely won't be finished for like 10 years or something lol. But I'm absolutely going to dive into the web novel or LN right now. I wish someone had told me to just give it a try despite how the show initially comes across. They got something special here and I hope this writer continues working once he's wrapped up Zero.

Hey I'm wondering if Venice has good long term memory and context?

I use AI to escape writers block with erotica stories on occasion and I'd like to be able to feed an AI a story in working on, character descriptions and histories as well as previous scenes in the same story.

Then be able to have it write hypothetical passages based on the context of the story that I've fed it. Some of these passages will include sexually explicit material.

If paid Venice is not capable of this, what should I look into? I'm not seeking to do character roleplay I specifically like that this model is capable of writing erotica passages, and especially that it can write "tasteful" smut with sexually explicit descriptions.
