Viaggio in Lapponia (Rovaniemi o simili)

Meglio ripiegare su un alloggio in città e rinunciare all'auto?
  3. Attività: l'husky safari vale la spesa? Meglio motoslitta? Quali avete trovato sopravvalutate?

Grazie a chiunque risponda.

Best beach sandals/slides for long walks if you're prone to blisters?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a pair of sandals/slides that I can use both at the beach and for walking long distances (several kilometers while on vacation, like when looking for a place to eat or just move around town).

The problem is that with regular rubber slides, I tend to get blisters underneath my toes if I walk too much. On the other hand, with flip-flops I usually get blisters between my big toe and second toe because of the thong strap.

Has anyone with the same issue found a pair that's actually comfortable? I'm looking for something that's suitable for both the beach and long walks, with good support and minimal rubbing.

Any brands or specific models you'd recommend? (I've seen names like OOFOS, Birkenstock EVA, Crocs, Havaianas, Teva, etc., but I'm open to any suggestions.)

I come from my 8yo Adidas Adilette (first model).

Thanks!

Best way to reach Balos beach by boat? Recommendations on cruise companies or alternatives

Hi everyone! I'm planning a trip to Crete and I really want to visit Balos lagoon. I've read that reaching it by boat is one of the best options, but I'd love some first-hand advice.

A few questions:

  • Which company would you recommend for the boat cruise to Balos? (I've seen names like Cretan Daily Cruises departing from Kissamos, are there better/alternative options?)
  • Is it better to book the cruise in advance online, or can I just show up at the port?
  • Do most cruises also stop at Gramvousa island/the shipwreck, or is that a separate trip?
  • Roughly how long do you get to spend at the lagoon itself?
  • Any tips on avoiding the crowds, best day of the week or time to go?
  • For those who've done both: is the boat really better than reaching Balos by car + the hike down? Or by bus, because assurance doesn't cover that location.

Any advice or personal experiences would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

About to buy Meta AI Glasses - which Transitions lens makes sense for vacation/travel?

#Help #Discussion

I’m about to pull the trigger on my first pair of Meta AI Glasses (glossy black frame, non-RX) and I’m stuck on the lens choice. I haven’t bought anything yet, so I can still spec them however I want.

My use will be almost entirely vacation/travel/leisure - city breaks, beach days, occasional road trips. Not office work.

What I care about:

  • Don’t want to look like my brother - he wants has the Graphite Green Transitions (Rayban Wayfarer), so I’m avoiding that.
  • I use Face ID on iPhone constantly, so I need lenses that still work with it.
  • I’d love a true “one pair does everything” setup, but I drive maybe 2-3h on vacation days with strong sun. I know the standard Transitions don’t darken in a car because windshields block UV.
  • I already own a great pair of Persol with polarized cat.3 lenses for when I want proper sun protection, so the Metas don’t need to be my only sunglasses - but I’d prefer not to carry two pairs all the time.

The 3 options my optician quoted:

  1. Transitions GEN S - standard Meta option. 8 colors (Gray, Brown, Sapphire, etc). Fully clear indoors, fastest to fade. Does NOT tint in car.
  2. Transitions XTRActive - tints in car, slightly darker outdoors, but keeps a ∼10% indoor tint and is slower to clear. Gray/Brown/Green only.
  3. Transitions XTRActive Polarized - same as XTRActive + dynamic polarization up to 90% outdoors. Only Gray.

My leaning right now is GEN S Gray or Brown, or maybe Sapphire for a vacation vibe - but I’m worried I’ll regret not having car tinting on long sunny drives.

For those who own Meta glasses (or any Transitions):

  • Is driving with GEN S really that bad, or do you just deal with it?
  • Does the XTRActive indoor tint annoy you day-to-day, and does it mess with Face ID?
  • For travel content, is polarized actually worth it?
  • On a glossy black frame, what color feels most versatile but not boring?

Trying to avoid buying the wrong spec and then paying again for a lens swap. Thanks for any real-world advice!

N3DSXL Digitizer problem

Hi everyone. After installing a chinese digitizer, from Ali, I’m having problems with stylus inputs on my touchscreen as per images/videos.

The right part of the screen can’t get inputs, and got worse in few hours (I did many calibration attempts, but know I can’t anymore because I can’t reach the calibration menu [R button is not working too])

Is it a bad installation (I think I did a precise work btw) or a bad quality digitizer?

Getting back into MH4U after years. What is the definitive endgame Longsword meta set?

Hey everyone.

I’m a Longsword main and I'm looking to optimize my endgame build.
I'd like a definitive, top-tier craftable mixed set to get my mechanics back in order, because I got back in the game after years.

Can anyone drop the current optimal mixed set templates? I remember the standard Honed Blade templates used pieces like Garuga Mail X and Furious Rajang (Grand Divine Ire Obi), but I'm a bit rusty on the exact chest/waist/legs combos and Torso Up setups.

For context, I am currently at about HR 69.

Thanks in advance for the help!

“Glow” effect on the top screen when using an acrylic cover

Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed a strange glow/haze effect appearing on the upper screen of my console, but only when I install the acrylic protective cover on the top half.

Without the cover, the screen looks perfectly normal. As soon as I attach the acrylic shell, I can see a noticeable glow around bright areas of the display, especially on dark backgrounds.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Could it be caused by pressure from the shell? If yes, which shell do you suggest? Could it be caused by anything else?

I’ve attached a photo for reference.
Thanks!
