Hoping to get a pacman frog but I’m confused about feeding

I’ve owned snakes and chinchillas so this is my first frog and insect eater. I’ve set up the enclosure already and plan on buying one from Josh Frog’s but before I pull the trigger, I want to get more information on feeding. I’ve heard some very conflicting information so far.

when I was at the pet store to buy leaf litter, the employee told me to just buy this pacman specific powdered food for them and mix water with it. when i googled it, every source said this is terrible for them (this the the same store who said I can keep my corn snake in a 20 gallon so I was taking it with salt anyway) I heard that you can give them things like crickets and roaches but then some people said their exoskeletons were too hard, some said you can feed just nightcrawlers but others said they need a varied diet. Some sources say dust during every meal, some say not at all or every few days.

im so confused! the frogs im interested in are about 8-12 weeks old and I know juvenile diets are different as well. What and how should I feed them? are nightcrawlers and crickets ok? I also have Zoo Med Reptile vitamins without D3 and Fluler’s reptile vitamins with Beta Caratene. Are these ok for dusting?

Reminder that you can’t pretend to love animals while having/supporting outdoor cats

there is so. much. evidence on why it’s terrible to have an outdoor cats, and all these studies are at your fingertips. I genuinely cannot comprehend while people in this day and age support outdoor cats

It’s getting hot out! That means lake and bootie season, but also the season for people thinking you’re a terrible dog owner for bringing my B out in the heat

In typical B fashion, my boy LOVES the heat! we do take the proper precautions like booties, packing water and cooling off in bodies of water, however that still doesnt seem to stop the flow of passerbys who think it is abuse to bring a dog in temps over 80 F 😞 so many dirty looks and pointed question. He’s as happy as can be, I promise! anyone else have this issue???

I wish people realized there is a clear line between puppy blues and flat out hating your puppy or not being fit to have a dog

I commented on a post today where the OP was asking for help for their 10 week old puppy. The puppy was giving them extreme anxiety to the point where the Op couldn’t eat and lost 10 pounds, couldn’t sleep and had nausea and felt physically sick and the thought of interacting with the puppy made them overwhelmed and anxious. they also felt they could not bond with the puppy and did not love them

my comment was downvoted and blocked after saying she should just rehome the puppy!

A puppy shouldn’t have to deal with this. They are a living animal, they shouldn’t have to put up with breakdowns for you to finally start loving them. Puppy blues is a real thing, however I think there is a line between puppy blues and hating your puppy and just not being a compatible owner. SO many posts and people like this in general. Not gonna name names (I’m sure most of y’all can figure it out…) but there are so many subs on here that are full of people who blatantly hate their dogs and puppies but think they are God’s gift by keeping some poor puppy in an incompatible household

Dogs are sensitive to their owners emotions. If the owner is anxious, they get anxious. They can also tell who and who doesn’t like them and feel rejected.

If you are so stressed by a puppy and refuse to interact with them, you are stunting their development which will cause more issues down the road and is not fair to the puppy.

People need to realize there is much worse things than returning a dog to a breeder or rehoming. A dog deserves the best chance in life. Having to be with an owner who is not cut out for pet ownership isn’t good for either party. But for some reason, these people have some sort of savior complex and refuse to rehome a dog even though it is blatantly the best choice.

Anybody else have an off breed?

Here is my treeing and tracking dog! We are also training her for mushroom hunting. No, she’s not a poodle, she’s a havapoo (before you come at me, she’s a rescue!) when I adopted her I had no plans of making her a hunting dog. She is 37 percent havanese and 4 percent doodle and 58 percent poodle. She has zero interest in retrieving However, she has a super high prey drive, has amazing recall and tracking skills and knew how to tree naturally. She is certainly a miracle dog 😂 anyone else have an off breed?

For those still confused, this is the real difference between a ‘American’ and ‘European’ doberman

I see so many barrel chested, wide faced dobermans being marketed as european Dobermans when they are really just out of standard. the true differences are very slight. mostly just the cropping and docking and the stack. Europeans are slightly thicker and have a more ‘working’ stance while Americans are slightly thinner and have a more ‘elegance‘ stance

the only way you are going to get a ‘true’ European Doberman is if you are in europe or get an import. very few ethical European browsers will import their dobermans to America to begin with. don’t fall for byb scams!
