Anxiety

5w0d pregnant today with my first FET after a 2 year battle with Ashermans post a 22W TFMR. My first beta on 7dpt was 90 and second beta on 10DPT was 345. I have my first ultrasound later this week at 5w5d. Today my pregnancy symptoms are gone and I have light tan discharge.
Anyone have a similar experience? Do strong betas usually predict success? My anxiety is so bad today I can hardly eat.

Cancelled FET/Changing Protocols

I was taking estrogen (pills orally & vaginally + double patches) to prep for a medicated FET. I have a history of Asherman’s syndrome but just had a clear hysterosocopy a month ago. My lining wouldn’t budge past 6.3mm and was not fully trilaminar. My estradiol blood levels were 1188 so I had plenty of estrogen in my system.

My doctor wants to switch me to a natural modified protocol using low-dose stims. Does anyone have a similar story that ended in success?

Fully Medicated FET

I know this gets brought up often but I’m just hoping to hear some experiences of fully medicated FET success stories and whether or not you had any issues in your pregnancy.

I ovulate well on my own but my clinic is insisting on starting with a fully medicated protocol and said we can switch to modified natural (mini stims) if it doesn’t work for me.

I’ve recently been cleared of Asherman’s syndrome which puts me at a higher risk for placenta accreta. I was reading fully medicated also puts you at a higher risk for placental issues. However, I go to an amazing clinic and want to trust them. They said ultimately I could switch to a different protocol but it’s difficult to time and often results in cancelled cycles. I know I would be very disappointed in a cancelled cycle so I want to just proceed with what they are suggesting.

FET Prep?

Waiting on my period post ER then doing medicated FET. My doctor doesn’t even want to see me again until after I’m on estradiol pills and patches for 2 weeks which feels crazy to me! They didn’t give me any advice on things to avoid, supplements I can take, diet, etc. to prep for FET.

Any advice on FET prep?! I felt like I prepped really well for months for our retrieval cycle but am really in the dark for transfer!

Unusual Attrition

Is this odd or does it imply anything good or bad about the quality of our embryos?
22 mature eggs
18 fertilized (ICSI with TESA)
One arrested on day 2
All 17 made it to day 5
6 blasts frozen on day 5 (6AA, 5AA, 5AB, 5BB, 5BB, 5BB)
5 blasts frozen on day 6 (5BC, 5BB, 5AB, 5BC, 6BB)
Remaining 6 embryos arrested on day 6

I have been reading most attrition happens between days 3-5. For us all of the attrition happened at the very end. Does that mean anything?

Positive Experience

Just want to share my positive (thus far) experience with IVF because I have read every horror story imaginable on the internet. The good stories helped me get through so I want to share!

I am 33F, my AMH is 5.07ng/mL, I do not have PCOS.

I conceived naturally 2 years ago and it ended in a TFMR for a de novo mutation and have not been able to conceive since (although I did also get Ashermans from my TFMR and have had that removed 5x now).
Earlier this year we did a SA on my husband and everything was great except 0% morphology, which prompted a DNA fragmentation test. DFI came back at 33%. Urologist recommended doing IVF with testicular sperm. I was worried this was a bit aggressive but he told me this would be my best shot at only needing 1 round of IVF.
I did luteal suppression with estradiol patches the cycle before stims. For stims I did the antagonist protocol and stimmed for 9 days, then dual trigger and egg retrieval 36 hours later.
My original AFC was 28 then during stims it went up to 40. They thought they would maybe retrieve 24 in maturity range.

Final numbers are:
31 Retrieved
22 Mature
18 Fertilized (ICSI with fresh TESA sperm)
17 made it to day 3
All 17 made it to day 5
Froze 6 blasts on day 5
Froze 5 blasts on day 6
6 remaining embryos arrested at the end on day 6

Total frozen blasts: 11!!!!

We are waiting on PGT testing now but we are very happy with these results.

Stims was a breeze for me. Other than some fatigue and bloating I didn’t really have any symptoms. I didn’t even bruise from the needles. I was able to keep my normal work schedule all through stims.

Egg retrieval recovery was rougher than I was expecting. Definitely think I had at least mild OHSS but I think that’s to be expected with the amount of follicles I had + I am very petite so the fluid accumulation afterwards was painful. I had my retrieval on a Monday and was able to go back to work by Friday. Totally worth it in the end though!

I know we still have hurdles ahead of us but I am very pleased with how things have turned out thus far and nothing has been anywhere near as bad as I was expecting!! ❤️

Embryoscope Photos Day 3

Anyone know what the color coding on embryoscope photos mean? Maybe it is different for each clinic?
My doctor sent me photos today 2 hours after my day 3 update.
I had 22 mature eggs.
18 fertilized through ICSI
17 made it to day 3 and embryologists said “all of those 17 are at the cell stage where we expect them to me”

Then when my doctor sent me a photo I see: 14 blue embryos, 4 gray embryos, 2 reds, 2 yellows
Those numbers equal 22 but I can’t figure out what the rest means!

Stims Day 4

My doctor told me a lot of women love stims and feel great on it so that’s what I was expecting. I’m on an antagonist protocol and am just so so so tired. Already so bloated, gained 2 pounds. My AFC was 28 at baseline. I start antagonist (I forget the name of the med) in a couple days. Does this usually get better or worse?

Stims Anxiety

I started my first day of stims last night (menopur and Follistim). In the past I’ve suffered from panic attacks but things have been under control without the need for medication for the last 8 months. Did my first stims should last night, immediately had a bit of panic that we may have mixed the meds wrong, injected wrong, etc.

I had a really hard time sleeping last night (at this point I was no longer anxious - just tossing and turning all night) which is unusual for me.

Today I am very tired but my anxiety just came back. Unfortunately this manifests physically for me with shortness of breath/air hunger so then those symptoms freak me out more and the roller coaster ensues.

Could the anxiety and insomnia be a direct symptom of the medication already that I should expect to get worse?

Success Stories with MFI/DFI

Could anyone share their success stories with MFI? I would love to hear any stories similar to mine. I am about to go into my first round of IVF and have no idea what to expect. I know it’s different for everyone!

I am 33. My BMI is 21. My AMH is 5.07ng/mL. My AFC is between 24 and 29 depending on the cycle. PCOS has been ruled out. Because of these things, I feel like I *should* yield a good amount of eggs. I go to an amazing clinic and their success rates are the highest in my state. I am doing an antagonist protocol with a dual trigger. Starting estrace patches in my luteal phase 10ish days before I start stims. They will monitor me every 2 days during stims and adjust my protocol accordingly. They said they are not conservative when it comes to egg retrieval and will take everything they see.

My husband is 36. He has high sperm count and high motility but low morphology and 33% DNA Fragmentation. We are doing a TESA and using testicular sperm + ICSI. We will be doing PGT-A testing and doing a frozen embryo transfer after ER cycle.

Has anyone had similar parameters and willing to share how many embryos you ended up with?
My husband got me pregnant 2 years ago but it ended in TFMR for a de novo mutation. I have not even so much as had a chemical pregnancy since, but my TFMR caused Ashermans for me so it’s hard to tell if our problem was creating a healthy embryo or just implantation. I am kind of terrified that we won’t end up with any embryos because of the DFI!
