Protecting other faiths - Historical fact

The Covenants of Prophet Muhammad: Protecting Other Faiths
Historically, Prophet Muhammad did not just speak about religious tolerance; he codified it into law through legal treaties. The most famous of these is the Aovenant of the Prophet Muhammad with the Christians of the World (often preserved at St. Catherine’s Monastery in Mount Sinai).
The Text of the Covenant: In this document, signed and stamped by the Prophet, he wrote: "No bishop shall be removed from his bishopric, no monk from his monastery, no priest from his house of worship, and no pilgrim shall be detoured from his pilgrimage. Neither shall any of their churches be destroyed or ruined... Whosoever does not adhere to this, he is a violator of God’s covenant."

The day of Judgement

The Quran details the Day of Judgment and final accountability with vivid descriptions of absolute justice, the weighing of deeds, and individual responsibility.

The accompanying angels and the witnesses:

“And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness."

According to traditional Quranic commentary (Tafsir), as the horn is blown for resurrection, two angels are assigned to accompany every human being to the place of gathering:

The Saa'iq (The Driver): An angel who drives and guides the soul forward to the divine court, ensuring no one can turn back, flee, or escape the gathering.

The Shaheed (The Witness): An angel who stands as a witness, carrying the exact, unalterable book of deeds recorded during that person's earthly life to testify to what they did.

Bodily Testimony Surah Yaseen verse
36:65
"That Day We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn."

Absolute Justice and Record of Deeds

*
Surah Al-Zalzalah 99:7-8 "So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it."

Surah Al-Kahf 18:49 "And the record \[of deeds\] will be placed \[open\]... They will say, 'Oh, woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it?' And they will find what they did present \[before them\]. And your Lord does not injustice to anyone."

Surah Al-Jathiyah 45:28 "And you will see every nation kneeling \[from fear\]. Every nation will be called to its record. \[It will be said\], 'Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do.'"

Individual Responsibility:
Surah Al-Isra 17:13-14\] "And \[for\] every person We have fastened his destiny to his neck, and We will bring forth for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will find wide open. \[It will be said\], 'Read your record. Sufficient is yourself against yourself this Day as accountant.”

Surah Luqman 31:33 "...and fear a Day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth...".

The Weighing of Deeds (The Scales)
Surah Al-Anbiya 21:47 "And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is \[even\] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant."

Surah Al-Qari'ah 101:6-9 "Then as for one whose scales are heavy \[with good deeds\], He will be in a pleasant life. But as for one whose scales are light, His refuge will be an abyss."

The ruins of past civilizations

The Quran contains multiple verses that command people to travel through the earth specifically to observe the ruins of past civilizations and learn from their downfall.

Key Quranic Verses
1). Surah Al-An'am 6:11
"Say, 'Travel through the land; then observe how was the end of the deniers.'"

2). Surah Yusuf 12:109
"Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them?..."

3). Surah Al-Hajj 22:46
"So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not the eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts."

4). Surah Ar-Rum 30:9
"Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? They were greater than them in power, and they plowed the earth and built it up more than they have built it up..."

5). Surah Ghafir 40:82
"Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than them and mightier in strength and in impressions on the land..."

Purpose of These Commands
The Arabic phrase used for this concept is "Seer fil-Ardh" (Travel through the earth). The Quran frames these journeys not just for leisure, but for deep spiritual and moral reflection:

Trinity

The primary verses in the Quran that address and explicitly condemn the doctrine of the Trinity include:

Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:73:
"Those who say, 'Allah is one in a Trinity,' have certainly fallen into disbelief. There is only One God. If they do not stop saying this, those who disbelieve among them will be afflicted with a painful punishment"

Surah An-Nisa 4:171: "O People of the Book! Do not go to extremes regarding your faith; say nothing about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was no more than a messenger of Allah... believe in Allah and His messengers and do not say, 'Trinity.' Stop! —for your own good. Allah is only One God".

Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:75: States that “Jesus and his mother, Mary (Maryam), were both human beings who "ate food," further refuting any divine or co-equal status”.

Lying under duress

The primary verse in the Quran that addresses lying or renouncing faith under extreme duress or physical threat is Surah An-Nahl 16:106.
"Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief - except for one who is forced while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment."

The Exception for Duress: This verse was revealed regarding companions of the Prophet who were subjected to severe torture by persecutors in Mecca and forced to verbally renounce their faith. The Quran recognizes that when a person's life or safety is under imminent threat, speaking words of disbelief—or denying the truth—is forgivable, provided their heart remains firm in faith.”

Other religions:
“When looking globally at how major religions approach lying under duress, a fascinating spectrum emerges. Religions generally fall into two categories: Rule-Based Faiths (which must find clever theological workarounds because lying is inherently forbidden) and Consequence-Based Faiths (which prioritize the protection of life as the ultimate truth).”

Modern Law:
In modern secular legal systems, the ancient religious question of "lying under duress" has been translated into highly structured statutory defenses. Modern law does not grant a general permission to lie, but it recognizes that extreme external pressure can destroy a person's free will.
Depending on the context—whether you are committing a crime under a threat, or being forced to sign a contract—modern law protects you through three primary legal doctrines.”

Religion and Science

Why do we have to go deeper into science to understand religion? How many of us have scientific knowledge to understand even a basic daily routine of sleeping and waking up?
A true Muslim is well defined in the very beginning on page 2 of Quran verses 2:3-5.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:3)

Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them,

(2:4)
And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

(2:5)
Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.

Further, In Islamic theology, sleep and death both involve the departure of the soul (nafs or ruh). The primary difference is that in sleep, the connection between the soul and body is maintained and the soul is returned upon waking. In death, the soul is retained by Allah permanently until the Day of Judgment.

  1. Surah Az-Zumar (39:42)

"It is Allah Who calls back the souls upon their death as well as [the souls] of the living during their sleep. Then He keeps those for whom He has ordained death, and releases the others until an appointed time. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect."
Also
Surah Al-An'am (6:60)

"It is He Who takes your souls by night and knows what you do by day. Then He raises you up therein so that a specified term may be fulfilled. Then to Him will be your return; then He will inform you of what you used to do."
And
Surah Al-Furqan (25:47)

"And it is He who has made the night for you as a covering and sleep [as a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection."

Leave it there and don’t get confused or confuse others!
🤔😇

Delays in acceptance of Duas

We do a lot of planning & preparation before appearing for any exam. But we never know what the results will be. Some times all our efforts are wasted and we fail miserably! The most probable reason is that we did not prepare in the right way!

Similarly there are certain conditions that we have to follow to be answered for our Duas!

• Are we following the guidance from the Creator in our every day life?

• Do we trust the Creator’s judgement?

• Are we selfish is asking and ignoring the rights of others?

• Are our food, clothes and all other needs meet from halal source?

• Are we grateful to Him for being able to survive?

• Are we seeking a quick response without knowing its repercussions? Does it involves sin or harm to

• Let not our Duas distracted us from our obligatory duties! 🤔😇🤲🏻
