"tripletaco?" more like triple threat. AI, creepy implications of who they are pandering to with that statement, and intentionally copping the appearance of a story i love.

I've never been able to make a Kick account. What could be the issue?

I only follow one streamer, but id like to be involved in the chat. Every time i try to sign up, i get this "Unknown error. Please try again." message.

What could be the issue? It has to be something on my end, but ive used different emails and usernames. Ive never had a Kick account and ive been trying to make one for a year.

Anyone know of a good app to edit file details in bulk so i can organize music files easily?

Im building an organized music library with an emphasis on organized. However, the Details of the file which label Album, Artist, Genre, ext, are all messed up. Music players will organize one artist into a bunch of different groups if the Artist field isnt identical, albums are split almost down to each song for the same reason, so on.
Editing these individually is terrible; i have thousands of songs.

Is there an app where i can bulk edit the fields? Like, i could select 13 files/songs and change just the album field, or highlight 110 files/songs and change just the Artist field, so on?

Has any of the crew mentioned Fallen Angels before?

Probably one of the most gorgeously shot movies ive seen. Real simple handheld cams with wide angle lenses pushed right into everyone's face, but the cinematography is 100% in every shot for the whole duration. Every frame a painting, but not in some artificially crafted way.

Its a Hong Kong movie from 1995 and i know they dont do foreign movies, but this one is so iconic and influential. I was wondering if RLM has brought it up before as a source of comparison or potential inspiration when discussing other movies

Thinking back to our dating-era, did you guys formally ask each other out or did you just hang out until the relationship was implied?

I did the latter 100% of the time. I dont think i even knew a couple that formally asked each other out. Everyone just hung out or hooked up until they just considered a couple, and then they would look back to see around when did it start. Not sure if thats a millennial thing, but it makes the Asking Out scenario of movies/shows kinda un-relatable for me.

Theres an uncanny element to a new Disney trailer that is getting talked about. Might be the beginning of a weird trend; too early for RLM to talk about it but interesting from a film making and industry angle.

Hexed is a new movie from Disney. Looks standard and uninspired, but the content of the movie isnt really the interesting part.

As the trailer goes on, it starts to feel uncanny. I 100% do not believe AI is involved; i dont think Disney is ready to take that plunge in their movies (i know they have AI bumpers on Disney+ but movies are a different game).

The issue is that the focal point of every shot is the center of the screen. Each cut is rather quick, and every cut just has the focal point in the center. No wide-shots where characters are on either end, no rule-of-thirds shots, so on. It seems to be a deliberate choice. Theres another trailer that

So whats up with this one having the dead center focus? Some people say its so it can be viewed vertically on a phone without losing any relevant material; theres an edit that crops it this way floating around twitter and yea it almost seems like it was made specifically for that format. I assume there are other reasons.

edit: this isnt about animation. This is more about how the big scenes or clip-able moments seem to be made with vertical cropping in mind. Most people think its so clips can be easily shared on phone platforms. If this becomes a trend going forward, a lot of movies might have their important scenes or dialog take place within that cropped frame. Its the kinda thing we'd start to notice over time.

Twitch app for vods is such a frustrating experience. Every unavoidable ad is followed by it jumping back to the beginning of the vod. Trying to skip to a certain part either summons an ad or jumps it back to the beginning.

i usually catch streams i missed the following morning on my 2+ hour commute but trying to deal with the app while driving is terrible.

  • No matter what phone i use, or whether its fully updated, the ads run a good 50/50 chance of jumping back to the beginning.
  • blips in reception that cause buffering makes the vod jump back to the beginning.
  • Interacting with the app either causes an ad to appear or jump back to the beginning.
  • Im not looking at the time code as i watch, so trying to find where i was at in a 4 hour stream every few minutes is balls
  • It could play ads for a few minutes, jump back to the beginning, and before i could find my place again, theres another ad

just venting about how dog ass the app is. biggest company on earth owns this and its shit. i hear the kick app is worse..

I would rather watch it on youtube but it can take weeks to get there. i would pay just to have youtube uploads within 12 hours of the steam

What tripod do you use and whats your review of it?

I got a $20 cheap thing on amazon. I wouldnt extend the legs beyond the first set really; very flimsy. If its aiming perfectly straight with pretty much just the camera body its fine, but with just about any lens longer than 2" or if you angle the camera at all, itll sink all the way down; no grip at all. Theres a few times where its useful but not versatile at all.

My friend is asking for advice on getting a camera but his price range is below anything im familiar with. His cap is only $200.

He primarily wants it to do video, but he also wants to take pics of models he builds (macro and regular i assume) and general nature/town/people photos.

i mostly look at mid and upper-end cameras so i am completely unfamiliar with anything <$200. I think a small kit 18-55 lens would be fun for him; i dont think he'll go off an Automatic setting for a long time but if it can do more that would be great. He has 0 experience; even with phone cameras, but he's really fixated on using a pro camera and not a phone even if its rather cheap.

He already dropped 200 on a camera off Facebook Marketplace; it ended up being a busted old film camera that would not be good for him. I dont live near him so i cant vet anything someone tries to sell him, and he wont know what it is by himself. I think it would be better if he got something new from a store so at least i know he isnt getting scammed by someone.

Any advice is appreciated

(1) Budget, country, and currency: $200 USD, USA

(2) What equipment, if any, you have now and why is it no longer meeting your needs? New person with 0 current equipment

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot? Miniatures, nature, people

(4) Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both? Both

I have a lot of jeans with holes on the knee. I can only wear new looking jeans to my job, so i have no use for these. A lot of new denims are often distressed worse than this so i would imagine they are still useful to some people. Is there a location that would accept jeans that have holes on the knees?
