“ESIDARS Sunrise” by GodzillaLouise (OC)

  • ESIDARS Sunrise: A singular large spacecraft originating from the Novacruiser Family of ESIDARS mobile bases, the ESIDARS sunrise served as the primary mobile base of the Japanese Branch of ESIDARS (Elite Scientific Defense And Research Squadron), a major branch of the USCDF (the United Star Colonial Defense Front), from 9611 to 9718 CE. It relied on five distinct types of non-weaponizable stellar-energy-scale power generators and a main propulsion system utilizing 214 quantum resonance-integrated magneto-nanoparticle plasma thrusters distributed across the wings for power and thrust, alongside a static levitation system derived from gravitational repulsion mechanisms for maintaining stable planetary orbit when needed. It was primarily armed with a forward main cannon capable of firing the ESIDARS-JP Hyper Maxima Sun-Blast, a plasma beam capable of producing its own atmosphere in vacuum in sub-femtosecond timespans fueled by a trinity of named weaponizable stellar-energy power generator components, which were supplemented by immense exterior plasma-based autocannons and millions of on-board autonomously-piloted combat drones. The Sunrise had a hull length of approximately 640 meters and a hull height of 180 meters, making it the second smallest mobile base used by ESIDARS. Furthermore, towards the latter end of its career, it was equipped with an experimental Beam Weapon Power Supply Transfer System capable of transferring the main beam cannon's energy to other ESIDARS vessels capable of withstanding it, even across vast distances, effectively compounding the maximum total power output to devastating levels during synchronized fleet assaults or enabling smaller vessels to strike with uncharacteristic force.

“AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha-1 and Alpha-2” by GodzillaLouise (OC)

  • AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha: An advanced model of heavy modular anti-kaiju strike jet in service from 2014 to 2053, used by the HYPER-AKTSDC, an international branch of the SSATDF. Similar to the UIRN's UIRN Space Chimera's nature as a composite three-part spacecraft, the AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha was comprised of two independently-capable component aircraft, the AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha-1 and the AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha-2, which were capable of docking together in midair through a synchronized ventral locking assembly to form a singular, larger combat vehicle with substantially greater power output as well as higher total thrust capacity and weapons-feed efficiency than either component could achieve independently. They relied on the paired high-energy plasma conversion reactors of their component jets for power and thrust, particularly utilizing a shared synchronization system to achieve higher efficiency. They were primarily armed with a forward ventral-mounted high-intensity plasma beam cannon derived from the synchronized power supply of both component jets, as well as the combined armaments of the Alpha-1 and Alpha-2. They had a combined crew requirement of 3, a maximum crew of 5, and a maximum carrying capacity of 9. Furthermore, like many earlier SSATDF combat vehicles, they were typically painted in varying combinations of bright colors for two major purposes; to enable an easier rescue for downed pilots when a craft is downed by a kaiju and to allow for better unit identification in multi-aircraft operations.
    • AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha-1: An advanced model of heavy modular anti-kaiju strike jet in service from 2014 to 2053, used by the HYPER-AKTSDC, an international branch of the SSATDF. Serving as the forward half of the AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha, the AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha-1 housed the primary anti-kaiju strike systems. They relied on a high-yield plasma conversion reactor for power and thrust. They were primarily armed with forward plasma projection emitters, compact ventral-side concealed rotary cannon mounts, and a limited but precise target-locking missile load-out. They had a crew requirement of 2, a maximum crew of 3, and a maximum carrying capacity of 5. Furthermore, like many earlier SSATDF combat vehicles, they were typically painted in varying combinations of bright colors for two major purposes; to enable an easier rescue for downed pilots when a craft is downed by a kaiju and to allow for better unit identification in multi-aircraft operations.
    • AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha-2: An advanced model of modular anti-kaiju arsenal-booster jet in service from 2014 to 2053, used by the HYPER-AKTSDC, an international branch of the SSATDF. Serving as the rear half of the AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha, the AKTSDC Crusader-Jet Alpha-2 functioned independently as a support-strike aircraft but was secondarily designed to serve as the combined craft’s armored propulsion block and combat-endurance module upon docking with the Alpha-1. They relied on a high-output plasma conversion reactor for power and thrust. They were primarily armed with target-locking missiles and forward plasma projection emitters. They had a crew requirement of 1, a maximum crew of 2, and a maximum carrying capacity of 4. Furthermore, like many earlier SSATDF combat vehicles, they were typically painted in varying combinations of bright colors for two major purposes; to enable an easier rescue for downed pilots when a craft is downed by a kaiju and to allow for better unit identification in multi-aircraft operations.

“AKTSDC Defender-Jet” by GodzillaLouise (OC)

  • AKTSDC Defender-Jet: An advanced model of SVTOL fighter jet in service from 1970 to 1998, used by the AKTSDC, an international branch of the SSATDF. They relied on a high-energy plasma conversion reactor for power and thrust that is retrospectively believed to have been humanity's first technological model to consistently produce interactions with the Varsanik field, even if only accidentally and with heavy misunderstandings, hence the oftentimes anomalous for the period performance of the AKTSDC Defender-Jet's engines. These jets were primarily armed with dual concealable heavy rotary cannons utilizing high-yield impact-detonating solid rounds, but were also armed with a high-intensity plasma beam cannon on the ventral side of the fuselage as a last resort and could be additionally equipped with various models of missile armaments, including, but not limited to, early high-velocity target-locking drill-missiles designed for fluid injection and early low-velocity target-locking impact-detonating high-yield warhead-bearing missiles. They had a crew requirement of 2, a maximum of 4 seats, and a maximum carrying capacity of 6. Furthermore, they were typically painted in varying combinations of bright colors for two major purposes; to enable an easier rescue for downed pilots when a craft is downed by a kaiju and to allow for better unit identification in multi-aircraft operations.

AKTSDC Defender-Jet [Credit: “GodzillaLouise” (Myself)]

Just to preface this, this is meant to be a purely hypothetical aircraft design from a highly fictionalized version of real world history wherein various fundamental quantum fields aside from the Higgs field exist and enable the existence of Kaiju. It’s design is intentionally enabled by physical scientific fields and effects that do not exist in our world, hence the unusual design.

Designing Zenithwoman Sothis

  • Zenithscepter Osiris (ジーニトセプター・オサイリス): A divine Zenith Warrior who is less a living organism than a living representation of a mystical force of nature, Osiris is the God of Zenithhood and a powerful entity aligned to the Electrophotonic Powers of Light and Chaos. Once deformed, can only be reformed by the reunion of Sothis and Orion.
    • Zenithman Orion (ジーニトマン・オライオン): The masculine personification of Osiris, specifically embodying the orderly side of the force of nature that Zenithscepter Osiris represents, Zenithman Orion is a highly powerful, highly tactical Zenithman who, despite his immense age, has only ever used a handful of humanoid forms across the millennia. He commands a fiery light energy and is a powerful demigod of the night sky, winter, the hunt, and the weight of age.
      • Zenithman the’Olden (ジーニトマン・ザ・オールデン): The devolved form of Zenithman Orion.
    • Zenithwoman Sothis (ジーニトウーマン・ソティス): The feminine personification of the chaotic side of Osiris, specifically embodying the force of nature that Zenithscepter Osiris represents, Zenithwoman Sothis is a highly powerful, highly chaotic Zenithwoman who over the millennia has taken thousands of humanoid disguises across dozens of species. She commands a fiery light energy and is a powerful demigoddess of daybreak, the summer, solar fire, and new beginnings.
      • Zenithwoman the'Spark (ジーニトウーマン・ザ・スパーク): The devolved form of Zenithwoman Sothis.

Unless I randomly decide to design Zenithscepter Osiris myself, Sothis will probably be the last Zenith Hero design I do myself (assuming that the character designers I have on my team currently stay on board).

I’ve got a casting call on CCC for a joint series project between “Zenithman M/L/V” and “Zenithman Tachyon: The Adventures of Knightblitz”. Anyone interested can audition at the provided link.

Inspired primarily by Kyodai Hero / Tokusatsu icons such as Ultraman, Godzilla, Gamera, etc., and Western Superhero media, the Zenithman brand is intended to be an original, zero-to-low / uncompensated-budget, animated, amateur film franchise, and will begin production with two separate, but deeply-interconnected, original series:

  • Zenithman M/L/V is a spacefaring adventure series about a ragtag team of Zenith Warriors finding their way in a rapidly-changing cosmos while attempting to stop an oncoming universe-scale disaster.
  • Zenithman Tachyon: The Adventures of Knightblitz is a detective noir superhero drama series about a man with a fragmented sense of identity living a triple life as the CEO of a major corporation, an often-vilified vigilante-coded superhero known as Knightblitz, and a beloved speedster-coded Zenith Warrior known as Zenithman Tachyon.

That said, these are not planned to be necessarily an end point: other series will be produced later, if possible.

If anyone is interested enough to audition, please click here.

#ultraman60thanniversary | My Tribute to the Franchise - Part 1

Yeah, I’m planning for a separate tribute after this I’m considering as a “part 2“ to this one that will MAYBE be done by Ultraman Day if I’m lucky, but will likely be done a few days later. Though, to be fair, the reason this one was made so early was because I had already started on the “part 2” one a day before this one, and realized that it was going to be an absolutely grueling process to produce in time, so I just decided to cut losses and make a shorter one to hold over.

What mainstream Ultraman Series started horrid, ended horrid?

I’m using my own 5x5 version of the media quality alignment chart because I felt the 3x3 is too small, just to be clear.

So, assuming “Horrid” is reserved for the worst of the worst and “Great“ is reserved for utter masterpieces, what mainstream Ultraman Series started horrid, ended horrid?

Btw, I’m posting this here because the mods over at r/ultraman didn’t want me posting a 5x5 version there.

  • Keep it to Ultraman.

▲ 40 r/SWORDS

Once again, ‘curious what y’all think of these fantasy sword designs, all of which I’ve hand-picked from my world’s Ozarvis 32 setting, specifically from a standpoint of combative effectiveness / martial validity. Also, how well/poorly have I done distinguishing between these two cultures’ swords?

Btw, yes, I’m aware I already asked about most of the swords on the Ligyunil culture’s half of the equation fairly recently, but it’s been over 2 weeks, plus there have been two (arguably 3) additional swords added onto the Ligyunil culture‘s arsenal since last time. That said, this will absolutely be the last time I ask this question (or at least for quite a long while).

Anyway, here’s some sword descriptions:

  • Ligyunerrian Lanzarta (pl. Ligyunerrian Lanzartae, lit. “Ligyunerrian Longsword”): A hand-and-a-half to two-handed cruciform blade, the Ligyunil culture’s Lanzarta is effectively the Ligyunerrian equivalent to the European longsword in terms of societal significance (though not necessarily in terms of military significance). They tend to have a long, double-edged, acutely-pointed, symmetrical blade that is heavily optimized for thrusts, but far from inept at cutting, and often ground into with shallow, cross / crucifix-shaped fullers possessing a round 4-pointed star-shaped or “+” shape near the fuller’s end (about halfway along the blade’s length). Crossguards on Lanzartae, on the other hand, are typically fairly moderate to fairly wide in their proportional width compared to the overall length of the blade.
    • Ligyunerrian Rejzarta (pl. Ligyunerrian Rejzartae, lit. “Ligyunerrian Imperial Sword”): A specialized, highly-adorned form of the Ligyunerrian Lanzartae, Ligyunerrian Rejzartae are distinguished mainly by size and the presence of heraldic influences and adornment by Ligyunil Empire symbolism. This symbolism typically includes stylized carvings of ravens (which can sometimes resemble phoenixes in pure silhouette) and embedded gemstones, but can include other decorative elements.
  • Ligyunerrian Livzarta (pl. Ligyunerrian Livzartae, lit. “Ligyunerian Crudesword“): A single-edged hand-and-a-half sword with a prominent hook-shaped thrusting tip, Livzartae are a brute force chopping oriented sword designed for mass-manufacturing in a pre-industrial era of Ozarvis 32’s history. The Livzarta is effectively the Ligyunerrian equivalent to the European longsword in terms of military significance (though not necessarily in terms of societal significance) and remained in use for extremely vast swaths of time (from ~610 BCE to 2091 CE in Earth years), albeit not without significant changes in form and with later evolutions of the design remaining in use for longer.
    • Ligyunerrian Haulovzarda (pl. Ligyunerrian Haulozardae, lit. “Ligyunerrian Hooked Crudesword”: A two-handed version of the Livzarta that has a more robust, less hook-like thrusting tip and bears the addition of a polearm beak-like hook on its spine. It is primarily a dueling weapon and thus not intended for battlefield use, and was designed with the intention to emulate the parrying efficiency of a sword-and-dagger dual-wielding setup albeit in one-hand, though it does not quite succeed in that intent. Unlike its ancestor, the Livzarta, the Haulovzarda only remained in use for a few centuries (from ~220 BCE to ~890 CE in Earth years).
      • Ligyunerrian Valfet-Haulovzarda (pl. Ligyunerrian Valfet-Haulozardae, lit. “Ligyunerrian Hafted Hooked Crudesword”): A short polearm variant of the Haulovzarda. It features a nearly identical blade and edge profile, but possesses a handle ranging from 2.25 to 3 feet in length. The Valfet-Haulovzarda remained in use for vast swaths of time (from ~760 CE to ~2110 in Earth Years) and was a highly favored weapon by duelists and soldiers.
    • Ligyunerrian Reilovzarda (pl. Ligyunerrian Reilovzardae, lit. “Ligyunerrian Greater Crudesword”): A two-and-a-half-handed, greatsword-sized variant of the Livzarta, Reilovzardae share roughly the same profile but enlarged and are primarily a guardsmen’s weapon.
  • Eldyuldinian Lyuntzvar (pl. Eldyuldinian Lyuntzvara, lit. “Eldyuldinian Crescent Moon Swords”): A moderately-sized yet dedicated shipboarding weapon with a crescent-shaped silhouette. The Lyuntzvar consists of a large, heavily elongated concave edge that end in a prominent hook (which functions similarly to a Thracian Falx), a series of two large hooks on the opposite end of the macro-curve of the weapon’s crescent silhouette, and an improvised guard section with dual handholds, one larger than other, inside a section of the blade itself. Lyuntzvara were highly valued by naval soldiers for their usefulness in shipboarding and ship maintenance for centuries.
  • Eldyuldinian Lodtzvar (pl. Eldyuldinian Lodtzvara, lit. “Eldyuldinian Longswords”): A two-handed, leaf-bladed, longsword-like cruciform sword. They are typically made with an intricately-carved double fuller that curves in line with the hourglass-shape of the blade before converging/intersecting, forming a single fuller for the remainder of the fuller’s length near the blade’s tip. They typically fall between 100 and 140 centimeters in length, though there are later evolutions of the Eldyuldinian Lodtzvar that are often larger. Furthermore, they are a later evolution of Eldyuldinian Voshtzvara (Eldyuldinian Bastard Swords). The first record of their use on Ozarvis is nebulous, however most examples fall between the years of 940 and 1025 CE.
    • Eldyuldinian Sohltzvar (pl. Eldyuldinian Sohltzvara, lit. “Eldyuldinian Warswords”): A later evolution of the Eldyuldinian Longsword, Sohltzvara maintain the design of their earlier forms and are notable for their large size, ranging from about 130 to 160 centimeters from pommel to tip. They came into common use on Ozarvis sometime between the years 1070 and 1090 CE.
      • Eldyuldinian Raaldzvar (pl. Eldyuldinian Raaldzvara, lit. “Eldyuldinian Greatswords”): A later evolution of Eldyuldinian Longsword that builds off the foundations of Eldyuldinian Sohltzvara, Raaldzvara are even more notable for their large size, ranging from about 150 to 200 centimeters from pommel to tip. They came into common use on Ozarvis sometime between the years 1100 and 1135 CE.

‘Curious what y’all think of these fantasy sword designs, from a martial / combative standpoint.

P.s. I’m the guy who made that post about the fantasy “Eldyuldinian Sword“ designs about a month and a half ago.

P.s.s. At least to a basic level, I have thought through what these weapons are and why they exist: The Crudesword family (or ‘Livzarta family’) as a whole is basically an attempt at pre-industrial mass-production by the Ligyunil people of my fictional world, albeit with lesser, more generally-unrefined quality control; the Livzarta is, within that family, essentially just a relatively standard design for a one-handed to one-and-a-half-handed, single-edged chopping blade; the Reilovzarda is an equivalent to swords like the German Zweihander or the Scottish Claymore; and the Haulovzarda is essentially an attempt at taking the principles of sword-and-dagger dual-wielding to create a blade that can do both the parrying and the attacking.
