Used a calligraphy pen on a mixed media sketchbook !!
So far; Notes From an Underground, White Nights, Christmas Tree, Crime and Punishment, (now) The Idiot are all read! I think I have Demons, Brothers and 1 short story left. Set a goal to be done all his works by the end of this year and am very happy with my schedule :-)
Peep the book cover for Demons (last slide)
Side note, The Idiot is far more enjoyable to read than Crime and Punishment. Likewise the same for
Notes of an Underground to White Nights
Finished reading The Time Machine just now and it was both very unique (in an enjoyable to read way -- plus a break from Russian classics) but also not at all what I had expected. Was wondering if anyone else felt the same (call me crazy; expected more cyberpunk vibes given someone said this would be a perfect read for someone into said genre). Rip Weena
Already half way through The Time Machine and am enjoying it so far. I’m on part four (less than like, 250 pages left) of The Idiot by Fyodor so I got Demons to read afterwards — set a goal to finish all his books by the end of the year and am hella ahead schedule :-)
Ft. My Yugioh Young LA sweater on 2nd slide
Went from formerly powerlifting @ 200 lbs (500 squat, 445 deadlift and 300 bench) to calisthenics / hiit style lifts for a couple years now. Got tendonitis in (no joke) nearly my entire left side (dominant side) from a second job. Took time off and switched training style to calisthenics with some bodybuilding principles included (likewise for my hiit workouts). Tendonitis is now just concentrated to a couple areas — big win. Weight is down to 140 if I’m strict with the diet (doesn’t feel good tho) and around 150-155lbs on avg days !
18x24 Caligraphy pen on mixed media sketchbook
I put the flair as merch since the first photo is the hoodie but the other 5 are card pulls !
Working on a challenge of mine which is creating my human abstract figures to have both movement as well as still some realism within it. Using my Caligraphy pen on this piece, really been enjoying the pen as of late — and my sketchbook is a biggie mixed media one (don’t remember the dimensions / have the sketchbook on hand). I find using 3d shape outlines (like cubes, rectangles, cylinders) as well as just random sketch lines for guidelines, to then build the body from there helps a ton!
Introducing, my man-robot. Thought of a cool concept for this sketch as it progressed: the idea of superficial self-growth causing this machine-like existence and uncanny resemblance of the self !
It’s not included here, but (written by an Iranian author) there is a book called The Blind Owl. It’s 10/10 my all-time favourite book, wishing for more alike / more classics by Iranian authors. Expanding a bit out of English and Russian into some Japanese classics too! First time posting here so hiya
Trying landscape sketches :)
So, I am playing with infinite money just to explore creatively and freely with guides, then some point try a save without infinite money.
I really want to gradually expand, fix and update sections and am going by land slot at a time (might combine them all later but for now am treating them as sep. cities).
The goal is to have this city divided into eventually 5 sections (at 3 right now). Each section has their own bus stop and routes, police/fire/medical, its own heavily dense shopping area and most importantly: dense living areas. I want those sections to feel packed in terms of living, but outside have plenty of things to do/see.
Ideally, if each sector can manage with relatively minimal issues, I can connect more routes between each — and they’ll act as mini communities, forming one major one.
I think the road system is my biggest op atm and power — but power I have plans to fix.
Still debating about submitting it for grading
Bottom two are mine and the top one is my partner’s !
Lil’ book haul! I was going to get The Blind Owl since my local book shop had one copy (rare to find and my all-time favourite book) but I passed for the sake of savings — and I already have a copy (but twoooooo!!!)
My Shrek colour themed GBA SP and some games of mineee !!
First two are work in progresses so far
