For Da Emprah
Test model for an admittedly silly army concept. An appropriately ultra-elite army just seems like an excellent opportunity for some fun Ogryn* conversions.

A few folks asked for a rundown on this army scheme.
The colors are Screamer Pink base/prime > Carroburg Crimson wash > The Fang > Temple Guard Blue > Baharroth Blue > Blue Horror > Very subtle highlight of pure white. All the blue/white colors were dabbed on with a makeup sponge (The Fang again with an eyeshadow applicator). Then, just Soulstone Red over Stormhost Silver for the gems.
Each color of blue (and white) is applied with a progressively lighter touch after dabbing away more and more paint.
As pictured, some of the imperfections of the old, metal models show through a little, made more visible as a result of the texture-centric process. However, that wouldn't be a concern for more modern, clean minis. I also didn't bother fully stripping the used models, underestimating how much the previous paint would impact the final result.
I banged out another 500 points of Craftworld Spongepaint yesterday then got my arse kicked in my first Eldar 11th Ed game today. Learned a good bit though!
Now, to summon the energy to glue together metal Swooping Hawks…
Gotta decide between some Flawless Blades or another round of Tormentors next…
Onward to the (much dreaded) Defiler next
As my Leviathan stuff is still laying around and I really dig the vibe of Nids, I thought I would experiment with a potential speedpaint scheme to get them to a battle-ready state. This would take maybe an hour at most per squad, if not much less if doing them in batches. Every white-ish color after the primer + Blood for the Blood God was applied with a makeup sponge, then just a pop of Iyanden Yellow for the eyes.
Got my second Cerastus chassis Knight (on the left) ready to roll for 11th! I'll add weapon effects if I and when I bring it to an event, but that's good enough for the display shelf for now.
Onto a second Destrier.

Verification:
The new detachment motivated me to finish a few knights. Then, this lad almost carried me to a 3-0 finish at my last RTT of 10th, but the Defilers’ 5++ saves had other ideas.
Onward to 11th!
I enjoyed this kit quite a bit, leg assembly notwithstanding (grumble grumble)
