My issue with my offices hygienists and front desk and everyone actually

There’s a lot of drama going on in my office and I’m the only assistant and we have two hygienists, one hygienist got a few days off because she couldn’t get fully booked by front desk, so the second hygienist got mad and she took 3 weeks off I guess she was going through something but idk why she was mad at the other hygienist

Now the other hygienist got sick and she took 2 days off and ALL her patients got moved to me and my dentist, because of how many cancellations we’ve had and because the hygienists keep taking days off the office is low on funds I guess?

So the next best solution was to have me and the dentist fully booked for 9 hours straight tomorrow…
NO BREAKS besides 2 ten minute slots to catchup on things in case we run behind.

Like are you kidding? I have to be in at 7:30 and out at 5 without a single break. And I can’t even get overtime because I work 4 days at this clinic and 1 day at another 😭 mind you we don’t even get breaks on 2 other days but they’re 7 hour days so it’s ok I guess, but 9???? ☹️

If I say anything they’ll just be annoyed because I already asked for breaks on the days we don’t have them and they’re throwing in 20 minutes to literally just catchup on steri 💀

Looking for an affordable apartment

I know this probably gets asked a lot, but I’m in desperate need of housing I just got cheated on, and living with my ex is not an option so I’m couch hopping at my friends place, no parents to support me and I am at my wits end I feel guilty for taking up her couch space.

I know the answer will be to find a room mate but I’m going through a severe depressive episode and need my own space to be in for a while for my own sanity.

My friend has helped me find a place called Walkley square and they seem to have insanely cheap rates, I’ll be applying there but I would like to know what others have to suggest in a similar price range (800-1300)

I would love to live closer to Nepean since that’s where I work but beggars can’t be choosers so please throw suggestions my way.

M22 and F21 still in love but feeling too young to commit, any chance we could reconnect in the future?

My ex and I broke up last week because I found him messaging another woman. I was furious and I ended things on the spot but I still have a lot of feelings for him, we went through a lot to stay together like my family forcing us apart because of religious differences, so I moved in with him.

We dated for a year and lived together for 8 months before we started to realize living together was difficult as both of us have never experienced living alone beforehand, so the difference in living situation was definitely dividing us however we still pushed through and we tried to fix our faults whenever it is mentioned. Towards the end of the relationship, I’d say 2 months ago I noticed that he was getting more distant, using his phone more, but we still talked and loved each other the same we even travelled for a week and that helped our relationship a lot more but the next week after we came back I went through his instagram and found some messages between him and a woman older than him and I ended things then and there

When we talked about it a bit more he told me he felt like he was way too young to be settling and thinking about marriage and kids, and he just wanted to live his life whereas I was more focused on family and takked about marriage often and what name our kids could have. Looking back at it yeah we’re both very young however we were both each others first loves so breaking up is very difficult for us both.

I know the answer will be to go no contact and avoid him at all costs but we both admit we still love each other a lot and were in different stages in our life and should figure everything out before settling. He will keep seeing this lady friend, and I guess I will see where life will take me but we’re both hoping to end up together again in the future when we have it figured out and heal.

Any advice for this? Anyone reconnect with someone they loved years later? Maybe the wound is still fresh and if i close it I’ll be ok but I loved this man with all my heart, flaws and all.

Never thought I’d post here but here I am

Common law partner, I left my family for him at 20 thinking stupidly that he’d love me and he’d hold up on his promises. 2.5 years down the drain he was texting an older lady with 3 kids and she promised me she had no idea but it’s become clear to me she’s known about us because I still have access to his insta and they’re still talking.

We had it all, except it was all me. I paid the rent I paid for his motorcycle I paid for bills and insurances. I was holding the house together while he goes out on his bike to who knows where doing who knows what while I cooked for him. I am so stupid I was just babysitting this grown ass man he refused to find another job after he got fired cuz he was waiting to get employment insurance. Not just that he casually takes out money from my accnt whenever he needs it without asking. I am done being exploited and as sad as I am I’m glad I found out, better now than never.

I feel like I found freedom. I feel free and that financial issues will never weigh me down again. I found myself as a person. I said I didn’t gain anything from this but I think I gained personal growth and self respect.

Idk why I stayed with him I was so delusional. I just gotta heal now I know I’ll find someone better.

Disturbing dreams about my dad for the last few weeks

Hi all, a little background about me I “ran away” from home last year at the age of 20 due to being forced into religion and not being allowed to move out despite being an adult and ever since then Ive carried a guilt in my heart since I left behind my siblings I was able to reconnect with my mom for a bit until she ultimately decided to cut me off for good up until 3 weeks ago and I haven’t seen my dad for a long time since he was always the biggest reason why I left.

These dreams that I’ve started getting I feel like are related to the fact my mom has cut me off which in result isolated me from the rest of my family including my father and siblings.

I’ve always been afraid of my dad, he used to have a tendency to lash out all of a sudden or get physically violent or start making some outrageous threats towards me

The last few dreams I’ve had included him getting in a rage and beating me or getting in a rage and kicking me out or getting in a rage and taking a knife and hammering me with it all over my body (I could literally feel all the pain of that, it was by far the worst dream) and just now I took a nap and had a dream where he tried to get violent with me again but I attacked him back and i felt guilty.

I don’t know why these dreams have been flooding my mind it’s not like he’s gone to that extent of stabbing me before but I always thought he would. Another dream that stood out to me was him going in a rage and yelling and my Mom looking at me and looking back at him and deciding right then and there she wants to divorce him. I guess I always wanted her to divorce him because she always did the things that she did, like basically disowning me, because of him and because she wants to look like a good wife to him.

I think I’m carrying a lot of guilt still about leaving, and because I’ve been living without trauma for the last few months in a way my body has began to relive those moments because it feels abnormal how long I’ve gone without it, because with my dad his fits of rage would occur in a regular pattern which is about every 3 months, where either he breaks things, says really hurtful things and makes my mom cry or he would beat us without a reason, because our rooms were messy or because us siblings were having a quarrel and he’d basically take it as liberty to join and make things worse except he was bigger and the fight could’ve easily been resolved without him adding the unnecessary physical violence to it.

Every time I wake up im traumatized by my dreams, they were on and off a few weeks ago but these last 4-5 days have all just been the same type of dreams of my dad, I’m sick of having these dreams I want them to stop I have no reason to dream like that and slow down my healing process which already took too long, I’m mentally exhausted from it all

Steri tech in a big office, how is it?

I’m working as a DA for a family dental clinic as the only DA but we do have a steri tech and I found I enjoyed steri more than assisting when I end up doing it on the days the tech isn’t there, the workload of being the only DA is overwhelming, and it’s effecting my body and I’m only 21, I constantly have a sore butt from sitting hours through procedures which literally makes it hard to walk.

I decided to look for steri positions and I found a huge office in my city, applied and got an interview confirmation literally the next day, I’m going to the interview on Monday and I’m really nervous.

It’s an office with 4 floors, but the position has a lot of benefits that I don’t currently have and it’s 5 days a week compared to the 4 that my office runs, which makes me live almost pay cheque to pay cheque by about 100 dollars left in my accnt 🥲 (office also closes 1 week ever 3 months and we’re only paid stat holiday for the week so I end up using my vacation pay for bills which SUCKSSS)

I feel like to is a HUGE opportunity for me but I wanted to see what others have to say about it, has anyone here worked in a massive office as a steri tech? Do you start with everyone or a bit later?

Any insight helps ☺️🫶

How is the Architectural Technology program?

I finished Dental Assisting in 2025, and while the job pays well right off the bat (started at 23, currently making 28 dollars working 30 hrs a week) there is no benefits, and I will max out making roughly 32 dollars with no benefits for literally the rest of my life unless I decide to temp or work as a teacher which pays 33 an hr with benefits. Adding to that, it’s a VERY stressful job, my nervous system is in shambles after every shift.

I want to do a program that has more growth in it, that won’t wreck my body and something that will be stable and will have benefits. I took a peek at architectural technology and honestly find that it looks good from all areas, after 10 years in the field many people make 75k to 90k with health benefits and more.

But I am curious what people who have recently graduated or are still in the program have to say about it? What does the schedule look like? Are you able to work while studying? And how is co op?

I think in general, tell me what you would’ve wanted to tell yourself before you started the program, and any other things you’d like to comment on related to it. Thanks!
