I wanted to share something?
What do you feel when you see this image? Do you feel a vacuum in your stomach? Do you find it hard ti breath? Do you want to cry and laugh seeing it? I do.
I have something to share: My top 5 series: AOT>(CSM:Reze movie, but not series)>Evangelion=Kaguya Sama>One Piece>Vinland Saga=Edgerunners=Devilman CrybabyΒ
My top 5 overall:
- AoT (Reze movie)
- I Want To Eat Your PancreasΒ
- 5 Centimetres per SecondΒ
- The Garden of Words
- Your Name/Weathering with You
Here, you can see, in the series, there is literally no serious influenced by nostalgia. But when it comes to overall, there are 4 ranks in top 5 taken by movies, with nostalgic visuals and audio. Will this count as nostalgia factor?
Whenever I remember these movies, I get happy and sad, and sometimes goosebumps. The feeling I get remembering my childhood memoriesβ I got that same feeling about 5 Centimetres per Second and other Shinkai movies, just after finishing them. Is this nostalgia? I have a strong preference for environmental emotionalism in anime, and if an anime can do that effectively, it can crack any well written or well animated (like JJK or Demon Slayer or Modern One Piece) in my ranking. I think it is emotional connection. I have been drawing ever since I was 4 years old, and anime-painting-style have been a source of melancholy for over a decade (I'm only 16 now). These drawings, the skies in Shinkai movies, the grey of concrete, the yellow of sunrise and sunset, the sound of the nature... These things when captured perfectly in an anime (not live action, I've never gotten emotional just by seeing a live action show/movie scenery), are a treat for me. I can't express it in words.
But why did I chose this specific photo? Other Shinkai movies have better visuals than this? Right? Because it has THAT type of environmental emotionalism that I once saw in my favourites, like Doraemon or other Japanese shows. I'm only 16. Barely anything to worry about. Barely anyone to look after. Barely any burdens to bear. But this doesn't change the fact that I had a dream, which is now long past. These arts remind me of the dream. My enthusiasm in art, my love for Doraemon, the actual dreams I saw...
This image is so appealing, I can't express it in words. I wonder how I was able to type this much. Thanks for reading this pointless, incoherent yapping, if you did.
