Are the Mixing Starion gain metres the same as an old analogue board? As in you get the metre to be peaking into the yellow. Where most digital mixers now want you well below that sort of level.

I recently tired a Laney VC30 1x12 and really like it. I was running it on the clean channel, edge of break up and then using pedals. Sounded great.

Unfortunately for me, it has a parallel effects loop, and doesn’t work well with my pedal set up, which is quite integral to the sound of the band I play in.

So I guess what I’m asking is, could you guys recommend a similar sounding amp that has a series effects loop?

I use a line 6 HX Effect in 4 Cable Method with my Orange Rockerverb, Blackstar HT40. Both these amps have serial effects loops. I’ve recently been trying a Laney VC30 which I really like, but it has a parallel effects loop which behaves very differently to the effects loops I’m used to.

The effects I use mainly in the loop are reverb, delay and occasionally a harmoniser. Is there a specific way I should be setting my effects in the Line 6 to suit the parallel effects loop? The amp has an effects level knob to control the amount of the effects in the loop as well.

I’ve recently been listening to DP’s Who Do We Think We Are. And although it’s largely considered to be the weakest of the MKii studio albums, I think the production is the best out of all of them.

Each of the MKii albums had a different sound, but this albums got a fatter low end than the other albums, and just has a punchier sound overall.

It might just be the system I’m listening to it on, but has anybody else noticed this?

I’ve been listening to Deep Purples new album Splat, and just listened to Tony Iommi’s new song World Alone. Although the songs are good and the playings great etc, I always find that modern production doesn’t suit them. There just seems to be something about the sound of those 70’s and 80’s records that sounded so much better.

Purple, Zeppelin and Sabbath and plenty of other bands from that era had a unique sound to their albums. Now, nearly all rock production tends to sound the same to my ears. Is it just me?

Only problem I’ve come across is, the orange and red settings on the overdrive channel squeal like there’s no tomorrow. Green setting is fine.

After looking online, I’ve noticed a few others noting this but some of the replies are saying maybe a tube is going or the amp could be defective in some way.

So I suppose my question is, is this a common thing with JVMs? And if so, what’s the best way round it?

I just wondered if any of you with or without your gallbladder take Vitamin D supplements?

I have gallbladder polyps, and I’m on referral to see gastro. I have symptoms like fatigue, shoulder pain, gallbladder attacks, bloating and burping, etc.

In the mean time, I’ve been told to supplement vitamin D at a high dose by my doctor, because my levels are so low, but it makes me feel ill almost straight away. I have pain throughout my body whenever I take it. And as Vitamin D is a fat soluble supplement, I’m wondering if my gallbladder maybe why this is happening.

My Dad has his own personal Facebook page and he has another facebook page for his band, but it’s linked to his personal account. Is there a way to separate the band page from his personal one so it can have its own password and the other band members can access it?

I’m trying to use my Line 6 HXFX to control my Marshall JVM215c which I recently bought used. I’m having a bit of trouble setting the midi channel on the JVM.

I’m going midi out of my HX to the midi in on the JVM. I believe the JVM as default is set to midi channel 1, but I need to change this as I have another midi pedal running in that channel.

Can anyone advise on the best way to do this?

I’m an admitted Deep Purple fanatic, but only really the 1969/70 to 76 era. But does anyone else find Blackmores solos on Perfect Strangers, and his solos during the 80’s more generally, a bit aimless and messy? His tone also seemed to take on a more hifi sound.

Don’t get me wrong, he still pulls out some great lead work on the odd track here and there, whether Rainbow or Purple, but compared to his playing during the 70’s, there appears to be quite a drastic difference.

I was diagnosed with a brain tumour 5 years ago. I was a self employed painter and decorator. Since my diagnosis they took my licence away for two years due to seizures, and I was put on Universal Credit, and I moved back in with my parents.

I now have my licence back and have gradually been trying to get back to work, but I still have trouble trying to work, particularly fatigue, memory issues, left sided numbness. Some days or even weeks I'm fine, but then all of sudden I'll have a bad day, and I have to leave a job and come home and I'm wiped for a week. Basically I just can't rely on my health atm.

Friends have said to I should have applied for PIP straight away and shouldn't be on Universal Credit, but I'm just not to up on this stuff, and just wondered if you guys could give me any advise?

I use a Line 6 HX Effects with my Orange Rockerverb to change channels, and I’m looking to get a Gain Baby as a backup to my Rockerverb. Does anyone know if the channel switching is the same on the two amps? Like the Rockerverb dirty is Ring 2/ clean is Tip 2. I bought a Super Crush as a backup, but when trying to change channels with my Line 6 the Super Crush is the reverse of the Orange Rockerverb.
