Work allowance

Hi folks, I'm currently in receipt of UC and LCWRA. For about a year I've been doing a little side hustle of which they are aware (I'm down as not gainfully self-employed) and every month declare my income. My question is regarding what would happen if I were to earn enough from my side hustle to effectively zero my UC for that month?

The work I'm doing is hit or miss, some months I might have zero deductions from my UC as my earnings are below the permitted work allowance and other months I might go significantly over and the 55% tapering begins.

Only on one occasion so far I actually stopped doing anymore work because I was getting close to zeroing my UC so I stopped.

So that's my question - what would happen if that occurred? My understanding is that it would be ok and I'd get my UC as normal the following month but I keep reading conflicting info on good old Google. At what point would they close my claim?

It's all just hypothetical of course but my anxiety is getting the better of me.

Thanks in advance

£110.90 one person, one month (roughly) (£15 off voucher and £5 delivery)

Included a £15 off voucher and I'll need to top up fruit and veg Uber the month. I grow in my garden salads so I get them for free. I'm on my own and don't eat a whole lot and mostly do one meal a day and as close to keto as possible. Irn bru zero is my guilty pleasure. Again, it doesn't look like a lot of fruit and veg there but i'm lucky enough to have my own garden where I can go and pick my own salads daily.

At least half of the eggs I will pickle for snacks.

The lemons I use as a daily shot combined with some olive oil, ACV and cayenne pepper, it gets my metabolism going (not interested if anyone thinks that's pseudoscience, it works for me).

I also during the day will consume homemade kombucha and kefir and that brings calories and nutrients up.

Hope that answers any and all questions I anticipate.

Personally thought it was quite expensive for one person given I had a £15 off voucher and will need to top up a little over the month.

What say you all?

I fixed my unhappy friendship in 24 hours

The title pretty much says it all. All I did was decide that the old story about the friendship I had been ruminating on was no longer true. I spent the best part of a day saying nope every time an old feeling and story came up. I said nope, that was how I felt before and I recognise you and I feel you and I know this is coming from a place of fearing loss and rejection, but that's not us anymore, today we own this, today we are the operant power and I affirmed ...

I am the best, I deserve the best and I only ever get the very best. I also affirmed specifically for things related to my friend such as... I'm a great friend, always have been and she knows it, now she chooses to prioritise me coz she knows that's the least I deserve.

I also wrote a letter to myself as if I was my friend writing it to me and wrote everything I wanted her to say to me.

Woke up the next day and after months of torturing myself and feeling anxiety and helplessness, I had a message from her basically parroting back to me everything I had affirmed. I'm not ashamed to say I cried tears of happines... And mostly relief.

What we all planning to ask Prolific during their AMA on Tuesday?

For me it would be to simply ask why they have onboarded such a huge number of new participants without increasing the available work.

How many of you want to keep using Prolific as a bank for your earnings?

This poster obviously/probably/maybe deserved it BUT for all those who claim it's safe to let all your hard earned money build up on Prolific because they always let you access it.... Get it up yeez...just kidding lol. In all seriousness, ppl are daft to leave any funds to build up on what is ultimately an unstable platform. Cash out daily or at very most weekly, my dears 😉

Everyone is shitting on Prolific right now, what would you do if you were Prolific Chief exec?

Non serious post and just wondering… prolific have always marketed themselves as an academic research site which made them stand out amongst competitors. But recently they’ve obviously taken the AI coin and gone against their own morals. They’re screwing long time, trusted workers in order to have quantity over quality, I don’t think that can be argued.

So my question is what would you guys do if you owned the company?

Personally, if I started a company based on the morals and ethics that prolific claimed it was started on, I’d bail the minute I made a personal fortune of let’s say 4 million lol.

What about you guys?
