PREDATORS 40,000

This has been in the works in my little friend group for at least a year now (as far as the stats are concerned, and over three years for the concept): we borrowed the concept from the 2010 film, between one TEMPESTUS SCION, one ODST, one REPUBLIC COMMANDO, a.k.a "THE DISPLACED", and three Yautja PREDATORS. We will be having our own private games, but we decided to share the concept and Predator stats (Yes, we're proud of the fact that the Predator abilities and rules are just quotes from the original 1987 film. hehe) here for everybody to enjoy.

Scenario: BOOM~MAGIC! WARP STORM! Suddenly, three elite soldiers from three separate universes find themselves plummeting onto an alien Deathworld. They are equipped with enough ammo and supplies for an extended long-ranged patrol and the ODST is equipped with bioform to function as the group's adhoc medic. We're not allowing any drama, so the three automatically get along. Starting six hours after their alien parachutes deposit them safely on the ground, the Predators begin their hunt.

How do the Displaced fare?

Take My Shorts, Not My Jeans

Found this in the wild internet. Thought it was rather interesting considering all the Human-Eldar simping going on lol I'm not a geneticist so I don't know how accurate this actually is but it was worth a share.

Really brings into focus how complex the subject is, if you're into that sort of thing.

The Oblivion Class Battleship (Ver. 3)

I have finally reached the point where I am satisfied with the ship. It has been quite a road, but I am happy to (re)present the Oblivion Class Battleship. Thanks to all the comments and critiques from the previous post. They were very insightful and helped a lot in finalizing the design. Next step will be field testing the vessel in mock combat.

Unfortunately, the only other person in my area who dabbles in BFG Tabletop only has an Aeldari squadron and this homebrew ship is not exactly ideal for that and would not be a good first test (although we will do it anyway) lol I will have to go ahead and start building up a Necron fleet soon (my second fav faction).

For the HD version.

HUEG AND HUEGERER

I actually agree with the meme.

As a fan of both, personally, I have always thought they were closer to power armored Assassinorum agents than Space Marines. I mean, half the Spartans' history is still classified under the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI).

The Oblivion Class Battleship (Profile and 3D printed)

Battlefleet Gothic has been a love of mine since about 2007, but the models have always been out of my reach, they were either too pricey or extremely rare to come by, especially the Apocalypse Class Battleship to which I obsessed over for a good few months back in the day. After a while, and with adulting stuff to do, I let my obsession fade and defaulted to the infantry tabletop to get my fix (I didn't even know about the 2010 compendium that came out).

Now, with a little more gray in my hair and with access to widespread third-party 3D-printing, I find my love for BFG reigniting. And what better way to come back to the wartorn stars than with my own personally designed ships, the OBLIVION CLASS. A variant of the Oberon Class that is designed around decommissioned Apocalypse Class hulls; it is essentially a suped-up Dominion Class with torpedoes and a Nova Cannon. Yes, it has a bit of a range deficiency, but it makes up for it with speed and extra shielding (yes, I calculated the points using the Smotherman formula).

The second image is the 3D printed result. It is blocky and far from perfect, but I'm just happy to actually have a real model after all these years. For now, I just primed it and gave it a thick silver base coat. Still trying to decide what colors to give it.

Anyway... Lord Admirals and Shipmasters, I present to thee, the Oblivion Class Battleship! (For HD image)

BATTLEFLEET GOTHIC TABLETOP CROSSOVER: STARCRAFT TERRAN BATTLECRUISER

I've been on a bit of Battlefleet Gothic binge for the past month, and recently I have started trying to render ships from other Sci-Fi franchises into BFG stat blocks.

How me and a couple of my friends solved Warhammer 40k Crossover power scaling: Act as if you were a Black Library Author. So our philosophy in crossovers is not to simply port in the character from its native universe to 40k. That leads to long hours of neckbeard debates and nerdrage. Instead, we wrote the character in (in this case, a ship class) under the eyes of how a Black Library Author would write the character from just five seconds of looking at it and going off from that.

Requirements for being a Black Library Author:

  1. Not knowing what a ruler is; numbers work the way the author feels they should work.
  2. Make this the most OP version of itself because pedestrian concepts like "Balance" and "Fair" are for non-40k people.
  3. Profit!

Boom (mic drop) -- Power scaling solved FOREVER. You can apply this for any crossover character. Go forth and be fruitful and deliciously imbalanced.

-----------------------------

Anyway, we ended up with the Behemoth Class Battlecruiser. It's the size of a Frigate, it uses Light Cruiser stats, but we still call it a battlecruiser because, again, numbers work the way the author feels they should work.

Battlecruiser to Battleship?

So what does the Community think of the Artemis-Class Battlecruisers from the Sins of the Prophets Mod in Sins of a Solar Empire?

Personally, I think it should be made official canon, but with some modifications; increasing its size from 1,250 meters to 3,500 meters and upgunning it a bit. The UNSC has no recognized full-fledged Battleships. The only ships that come close are the Vindication-Class Light Battleship and the Valiant-Class Superheavy Cruiser.

I propose Halo Studios take this thing and make it the first full Battleship. Take its two (2) Series-6 Heavy MACs and give it two (2) Series-8 Super MACs (the same types that are on the UNSC Infinity), replace its four (4) Twin-Barrelled Mark 33 Spitfire 647mm Naval Coilguns with four (4) Helios capital-scale high-energy lasers (the same types that are mounted on the Anlace-Class Light Frigate), triple its Archer missiles pods from 8 to 24, double its quad M870 Rampart 50mm/50 cal point-defence guns from 12 to 24, and give it powerful energy shields.

Finally, rename them the UNSC Reach-Class Battleships.

LEGION STRONG

SCENARIO:

  1. The Great Crusade is at its peak, all the Primarchs and their Legions, God-Emperor himself leads, while Malcador rules and handles logistics on Terra. No in-fighting between the brothers, though healthy competition is allowed.
  2. No Third Parties. For this scenario, this is a relatively empty galaxy. No Aeldari, No T'au, No Orks, No Necrons, very limited Chaos presence. Only minor alien civilizations exist, and the Leagues of Votann. Yes, the dwarves are here, since they're technically human anyway.
  3. The Tyranids vanguard don't come separately by the millennia. Behemoth, Kraken, Leviathan, Gorgon, etc, THEY ARE ALL COMING AT ONCE, AND ROUGHLY AT THE SAME TIME WITHIN A DECADE PERIOD.

Can the Imperium hold the Galaxy?

Project Stealth Troopers

What it has going for it are two things:

  1. SPI Armor can be worn by regular humans without the risk of severe injury or death, unlike MJOLNIR.
  2. SPI Armor was designed to be cheaper and easier to mass produce. Plus, it is not like there are hundreds of thousands of ODST to equip.

So, what does the community think?

A task force I created for a story I'm writing.

------------------------

Stardare 65577.7 (July 2388)

When deep space listening posts and half-a-dozen remote research stations go dark in the Beta Quadrant, Starfleet sends a ship to investigate. That ship never reports back. When more listening posts go silent without cause, Starfleet sends small flotilla of three vessels. Only a garbled and corrupted incomplete transmission is received from the USS Nebula, the lead ship in the flotilla. The transmission hints of an extensive and all-consuming threat to the Federation.

Enter, Task Force Venger. The concept was first conceived at the end of the Dominion War, when starfleet realized that they needed to assemble a dedicated and elite hostile-missions task force instead of simply gathering what ships are in close vicinity to a quickly-growing conflict. Although it took almost fifteen years for the concept to push through the bureaucracy to become workable, the newly christened Task Force Venger has now been in operation for over a year, becoming more coordinated and experienced with each training exercise and minor mission. Now, with an unknown threat so close to Federation space, destroying Federation installations, and a death toll now in the thousands, Task Force Venger has been dispatched under the command of Commodore Maximilian "Max" Reed (great great great grandson of Malcolm Reed) on his flagship the USS Sarek.

Starfleet believes that a quick and overwhelming response should be sufficient to deal with the growing darkness spreading in the quadrant. Only time will tell if their gamble is successful.
