Super happy I able to track down Moon Knight #1 raw as the hunt continues, but felt I had to share this beauty I also got my hands on from the same seller!
Somewhat of a newer comics reader in general and have been going after Batman titles. I have read year 1, TDKR, Killing Joke, Court of Owls, and just finished Death of the Family last night (which I loved). Read them in that order as well.
Is it common to hop around different writers and story arcs, or is it advisable to stay with the same writer/arc and finish runs before moving on? I am really enjoying this Snyder run, but am interested in checking out Morrisons Batman titles next. I’m not sure there is a right answer for this, but does it matter in the end if I do or don’t?
Need a marvel character to collect. I’ve decided Marc Spector will be that guy. Decent start from the LCS today
Absolutely loved Jason Blood/Etrigan in Saga of the Swamp Thing. Probably will get that Absolute Demon when it releases. Had to snag these 3 volumes when I saw this series was a thing. Honestly, I’m not sure the verdict in general as a newbie, but after reading Batman Court of Owls this past week, I am certainly interested in going down the New 52 rabbit hole some more and happy to check this smaller series with the demon out.
Also, a Spidey slab. The collection slowly builds.
At the risk of sounding like an aging lunatic who has discovered the fountain of youth.. Long story short, I made a post here not much more than a week ago asking for suggestions and Reddit was very helpful. Well I went ahead and made a pretty expensive order with IST for 4 absolute and deluxe edition books. Flash forward a few days later.. and I cancelled the order (they were very cool about it thankfully) and went with one select absolute edition Batman book.
There are so many amazing looking stories and characters, and my eyes are bigger than my wallet. Is it always so hard to stick with a story or theme when being new to acquiring and reading? I truly love reading comics in my short experience with them. I also purchased a few busts and statues immediately. Also a graded TDKR title (my favorite book so far) which already arrived. I feel like this is a deadly game without a concrete direction.
Help?
I received a gift recently for the Absolute Edition of Mister Miracle by Tom King and loved it. Not only did I love the story/art, but I am beyond smitten with the hardcover, absolute format. I’m not made of money but am looking to get another absolute edition here and was curious which more veteran comic readers than myself might consider to be “worth it”.
I’m semi over the hill age wise, but am newer to comics. Besides that Mister Miracle miniseries, I have really only read The Dark Knight Returns, Killing Joke, Batman Year 1, Saga of Swamp Thing, Watchmen, and V for Vendetta over the last few months. Regarding available absolute editions and even maybe deluxe hardcovers, which would be a worthwhile purchase for myself next? Kind of sticking with DC at the moment and I am strongly considering Court Of Owls, Kingdom Come, and Superman Red Son. I am open to any suggestions from more seasoned readers/fans. Thanks in advance.
