Met up with a random redditor in fort kochi today!! pretty wholesome sunday evening ☕✨

Sharing a nice little update from today.

so u/iII-Ad-6110 posted on the sub about exploring kochi solo since she was visiting. my friend and I saw it and just randomly messaged her to see if she wanted to catch up.

We ended up meeting at fort kochi and hung out at loafers cafe on princess street.. had some good tea and beverages and just talking about random stuff

It is honestly pretty cool how reddit can bring total strangers together like this. she is originally from the north and we are mallu techies. completely different backgrounds, but the vibe was surprisingly chill right from the start. we ended up chatting for hours as if we already knew each other. kochi has its ways of surprising you sometimes.

Anyway, it was a really pleasant evening and great making a new friend out of nowhere. cheers! 🥂

How do you guys even find apartments here? (No 'To Let' boards anywhere) Need a 2BHK

Just moved here and trying to find a place. Back in Bangalore, you could just walk through a street, see a lot of "To Let" boards, call the owner, and visit the place in a day.

Here in Kochi, I have been roaming around and there are literally zero boards anywhere.
How do people here find flats without trying to involve a broker?

What platforms or groups are good here?
Is there any specific FB groups or WhatsApp group , apps that aren't full of brokers?

Also, if anyone has any direct leads, please DM.

About us:

2 bachelors working IT/startup job. Full WFH, so we mostly just sit inside and mind our own business.

What we need: A decent, spacious 2BHK (since we work from home, need some space).

Furnishing: Need the basic beds, cupboards, table/chair, fridge, washing machine, and gas stove.

Budget: Around 15k.

Any shops in Kochi similar to Gulf Bazaar / Foreign Bazaar in Calicut? (Looking for foreign chocolates/cigarettes)

Are there any specific shops or spots in Kochi that sell imported foreign chocolates or foreign cigarettes?

I'm looking for something similar to what we have back in Calicut, like the Gulf Bazaar or Foreign Bazaar setups where you get a good variety of imported stuff.

Let me know if there are any reliable shops around edapally/Kochi areas where I can find these. Thanks in advance! 🤍

[M4F] 26M, South Indian – Govt IT guy looking for a genuine connection! ✨

Hey everyone, thought of writing a post here to see if I can find someone to vibe with. I’m a 26-year-old South Indian guy, pretty chill, and just looking for a meaningful connection. I am a Hindu and I do believe in God, but religion is not really a strict filter for me when it comes to finding a partner. I completely respect all religions and beliefs, so as long as our vibes match and we understand each other, we are good to go.
On the work front, my career is in the IT sector, but it’s a government job. So, it pretty much gives me the best of both worlds—working in tech but with good stability and a sorted work-life balance.
I’m 5’ 9” and take my health seriously. I work out regularly, so I've maintained a decent lean muscular build. Fitness is a big part of my routine, and apart from the gym, I am very much into sports. I'm always up for a good, high-energy game of badminton or table tennis.
When I am not working or playing, I really love traveling and checking out new places. If it's just a lazy weekend, my hobbies keep me busy—I enjoy painting, doing a bit of photography, and reading. Also, I know basic cooking and all. I can easily manage everyday meals and make some good snacks, so you definitely won't be starving if we hang out.
I am basically looking for someone who is easygoing, positive, and looking to build something genuine. If you feel like our wavelengths might match, just drop a DM with a little bit about yourself and let's see where it goes!

I have a small setup — just 3 email accounts on my own domain. Been using Google Workspace but it's $252/year now and honestly I'm barely using Drive or any of the extra stuff it bundles

All I really need is email hosting for a custom domain, just want proper  inboxes I can send/receive from.

Looked at Zoho Mail and Migadu but curious what others here are actually using. Anyone switched away from Google Workspace for just email? Was it worth it?

Hey everyone, following up on my post from a month ago where we gave away those unused notebooks!

this time we have a huge stack of academic textbooks and entrance exam guides. Just like last time, instead of letting them gather dust, we’d love for them to go to a student who can actually use them for their college studies or exam prep.

Here is the exact list of what’s available:

Entrance Exam Prep (CSIR-NET & IIT-JAM):
• Life Sciences: Fundamentals and Practice - Parts I & II (Pranav Kumar, Usha Mina)
• CSIR NET/JRF Life Sciences MCQ Practice Book (Catalyst)
• CSIR-UGC-NET General Aptitude Theory and Practice (Ram Mohan Pandey)
• IIT-JAM Biotechnology Previous Years' Solved Papers (R. Gupta's)

Core Subjects & Reference Books:
• Biochemistry - 5th Edition (U. Satyanarayana, U. Chakrapani)
• Cell Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Evolution and Ecology (P.S. Verma, V.K. Agarwal)
• Fundamentals of Ecology and Environment (Pranav Kumar, Usha Mina)
• Genetic Engineering and Cloning (B.D. Singh)
• Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering and Biophysics (B.D. Singh, Sanjeev Kumar)
• Biotechnology (V. Kumaresan)

Semester-Specific Textbooks:
• New College Biotechnology - Semester IV (Ravindra Nath)
• College Biochemistry - Semesters IV & VI (L. Indira, K. Nagaraju, Zameer Ahmed K.)
• Core Course Zoology: Biochemistry Molecular Biology (K.K. Bhaskaran)

Open University Books (Not Pictured):
• IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) B.Sc Zoology textbooks

Location: nearby Neeladri Nagar

If you're a Life Sciences, Biotech, or Zoology student preparing for exams and need these resources, they are yours. No catches, just want them to go to someone who will put them to good use. DM me to coordinate pickup!
