The Burnham Question.

The Burnham Question.

Jimmy (who is fantastic) and a supporter of the Greens has argued that it’s advantageous for the Greens to stand aside in Makerfield but on the condition that if Burnham becomes PM, he delivers proportional representation and possibly some form a wealth tax.

He argues that if Andy gets in and he lies, then the Greens can damage Labour further by calling them liars (which would be correct).
If Andy delivers, the Greens will tangibly benefit in 2029 with a lot more seats.
Standing down will also open up more money and energy for the Greater Manchester Mayoralty should he win.

I am a Labour member (who abhors Starmer) so I don’t want to sound like I’m talking down to another smaller party. I just think it’s mutually beneficial for both our parties for the Greens to not run in Makerfield, although I think it’s too late now.

How powerful is Luke Akehurst?

I’ve heard a lot about this man, and I saw his Owen Jones interview. I’ve know he’s on the NEC and I’ve heard he’s terrorised Young Labour people.

I’ve also heard that he enjoys making spreadsheets like a BTEC CIA agent.

How much influence does he currently have and how much influence will he have on the party going forward?

Cambridge August Reconsideration Pool Feelings?

How do those of us who ended up in the ARP feel about our chances?

I’ve personally acted and behaved as if i’m going to my firm choice on UCAS instead of Cambridge, but if it opened up, I would take it without second thought.

I know that chances aren’t that strong, but by my calculations, it’s roughly as strong as the original application.

I’ve been aiming for at least A*A*A*A and I hope there are spaces in HSPS for me to take a place.

What brings me reason to smile is knowing someone cheering on the 28th January is going to be shedding tears while someone who was disappointed that day will be cheering taking their place. That brings me much happiness.

‘Leaked’ Papers

The only thing I see on this sub are papers people alleged are leaked. Holy fuck man just study and revise ffs

Too many people look for shortcuts. I don’t want to sound like Dhar Mann but just it’s just getting ridiculous atp

It’s just working hard to be lazy. It’s so pathetic. It’s 10 year old thinking. Grow uo and study and stop chasing shortcuts. And the dictators of this sub need to crack down on this.

What is Havering’s obsession with leaving London?

I’m from WF and I hear a lot of talk about Havering wanting to be in Essex, still considering themselves Essex (WF joined GL at the same time btw).

If they really wanted to leave Greater London, surely we should take away their toys. Remove their bus routes, take them out of the London fare zone, invest less there etc.

I don’t get why this is a thing when you can get from Stratford to Romford in 10 minutes.
