Job Booking Notification

For those of you who booked jobs, how did you know that you booked one? Did you get notified from the AimHigh app or did your recruiter just call you? Has anyone been booked a job this month?

1n4x1 tech school

Has anyone here recently graduated 1n4x1 tech school? What is the timeline and locations? I’ve heard on here that it’s 6 months in Corry Station then 2 months at Goodfellow but other sources say you either go to Corry Station or Goodfellow and the timeline is totally different. Can someone help clarify who recently went through it?

Pulled over for fix-it ticket

Currently in DEP. I got pulled over last week for expired state inspection and not displaying a front license plate. I didn’t know my state required a front plate, when I bought my car there wasn’t even a place to mount the plate in front. I’ve since mounted the plate and passed the inspection. I’m hoping to show proof of this to a judge and get it dismissed. Is this going to cause me any hiccups with being in DEP? How do I proceed besides telling my recruiter?

Has anyone here gone through targeting analyst tech school recently? How long was your tech school? Was it long enough to where you can bring your spouse with you? If so, why was that process like?

Breaking into IT/Cyber through Air Force guard or reserves

Has anyone here broken into a career in IT or cyber by getting a cyber ops or cyber intel job through the guard or reserves? I’m debating between going guard or reserves but want to hear some individual experience from both sides. I’m planning on being in the Nashville area after training if I get selected for a cyber role.

Doing AFROTC after a bachelors degree

Does anyone know if it’s possible to join afrotc after getting a bachelors degree? I know you usually have to do 3 years of rotc classes and I would need to do a year of prerequisites before a masters so that’s 3 years. I know that this is unusual but I’ve also heard of it being possible. I’ve considered enlisted in the guard in the meantime to help pay for that schooling with the ultimate goal of commissioning. Is this a legitimate option?

Where to go next?

29M with wife and kid. I’m ready for a career transition but am not sure where to go to find my dream career. I had sales jobs before and during college in which I performed really well but didn’t love the treadmill nature of it. I got my degree in history planning to be a teacher which I did but realized soon that I couldn’t support a family with it and there is liability as a male teacher. My wife and I had a real estate photography business that did well but we moved and with the time it takes to make sustainable money starting over again wasn’t an option. I know, lesson learned. I’m now a property maintenance manager which I enjoy but has capped earning potential that will never allow me to save enough to buy a house. I want a job with serious earning potential and one in which I feel I’m making a difference. I really enjoy working with people. I’m a work horse and have always performed well at whatever job I’ve had.

What I’m thinking of doing:

  1. Get an MBA and try to get a job in operations (I like making organizations better)
  2. Join the military (something I’ve thought about for a long time and the benefits are great)
  3. Move closer to family for support to try something entrepreneurial
  4. You have an idea I don’t - impart your wisdom!

Trying to figure out what AFSCs are available at Nashville location of Air National Guard

Does anyone know how to see what AFSCs are being recruited for in the Nashville location of the TN ANG? I’ve seen available jobs for other states but haven’t found a resource for TN yet. Also if there are any members of the TN ANG here I’d love to connect.

Deployments for contracting personnel

Do enlisted personnel in contracting deploy often? I’ve heard officers do but is it different for them since they have more responsibility for the contracts?
