Henry mag tube modification?

Does anyone know if you could convert the loadable mag tube to a “capped off” tube like a Marlin or Winchester? The only reason I would even consider it would be if I could squeeze an extra round in there. I LOVE my Henry’s, I just wish they didn’t have one round less capacity vs Marlin in comparable barrel lengths.

Long Ranger .308 Cycling

Anyone had issues with their Long Ranger not picking up the next round when running the lever? Yes, I’m running the lever like a man. It’s consistently not picking up the 3rd round in the mag. Hopefully just a magazine issue

Cerberus Bags

Hey all! Started with a 125lb Freedom Strength bag, filled to 100. Over two months I went up to a full bag, and then was ready for 150. I decided to get the Strong man sack from Cerberus. I filled it according to the instructions, however after about a week and a half I noticed the bag looked misshaped, like the inner liner was rotating inside the main red bag. I opened it after my workout and noticed the two zip ties were still in place on the inner liner, but it’s already starting to come apart at the top and leak a little sand. This is disappointing and I don’t really want to wait several weeks for shipping from the UK again.

Are there any other durable brands that can be filled within a larger range (150-200) or am I better off ponying up and getting Freedom Strength in increments of 25? I can tell those bags are tough as hell.

A sad day for my new Long Ranger

I have a new (within the last 2 years) lever gun addiction! I’ve got a Marlin 44 and 45-70. A Henry 22, 30-30 and just picked up a Long Ranger in 308. Shot a mag or two through it with the irons while waiting for my picatinny rail.

Well, the other day like an idiot I leaned the Long Ranger against my open safe door while I was doing something. I know better. Of course it slid and landed on the concrete floor. No visible dings, but unfortunately the hammer kind of hangs up now when cocking it manually (vs running the lever). And I won’t fire it with ammo till it’s fixed but dry fire the hammer seems to drop all but the last few mm until I push it forward with my thumb. Sigh. I will put in a ticket with Henry soon to ship it in. I’m sure the warranty doesn’t cover dumbassery but I guess we’ll see how it goes. How’s your experiences been with Henry customer service?

Remlin 1894

I was recently gifted a new in box Remington made Marlin 1894 in .44mag. I have a 30-30 and 45-70, I wanted a .44 but probably wouldn’t have bought one anytime soon so that was so awesome. I put a few rounds through it and ordered a skinner rear peep and safety delete. I’ve noticed the lever is a little sharp around the edges. What’s a good way to soften those up without making it look like crap?

First bag, loving it! Shouldering question.

I previously worked out with kettlebells, and mostly preferred them over barbell. I used brute force “athlete” bags years ago too and liked them, but that was like 75lb and higher rep stuff with movements akin to barbell. Had a few little dumb injuries until recently, now I decided to try “strongman” style bags!

I just got a freedom strength 125lb bag and it’s the perfect weight for me to start. Been doing Stone Circle’s program (forget the name), 3x a week where each day is 10 mins of rows followed by 30 min AMRAP of carry, shouldering, or box squats depending on the day. The carry is humbling and lighting up my core in ways I never imagined, and are hooking me in!! The squats are great too.

Sorry, finally the question - I’ve noticed some irritation in the back of both of my shoulders when doing shouldering, or carrying with the bag on a shoulder. Like a dull ache maybe 3 inches below the bony top of my shoulder in the back. Not sure if rear delt, rotator cuff, whatever. The fact that it’s both sides tells me it’s likely a positive thing and means those muscles just aren’t used to the movement or position. Has anyone else experienced this? It lasts a few hrs to a day after a lift session. I don’t want to turn pain into injury and advice for progressing forward would be appreciated greatly!! Cheers.

I came into possession of this interesting knife. I’d be curious to know if anyone knows anything about it and the engravings, and what it might be worth.
