Ministry of Foreign Affairs: We call on the Russian Federation to cease the illegal occupation of Georgian territories and actions aimed at their de facto annexation.

The Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality pays tribute to the memory of the heroes, fighters, and civilians who died in the 2008 Russo-Georgian War in the struggle for Georgia's territorial integrity, and expresses its deep condolences to their families, loved ones, and all of Georgia.
In gross violation of international obligations, the Russian Federation continues to this day its illegal occupation of Georgian regions, the strengthening of illegal control on the ground, and the expansion of the process of creating a joint military, political, and socio-economic space. Among other objectives, this is directed against the growing ties, confidence-building, and reconciliation process between people living on both sides of the dividing line. Severe violations of the local population's fundamental rights persist, including ethnic discrimination, strict restrictions on free movement, prohibition of education in their native language, and limited access to property and livelihoods. Hundreds of thousands of refugees and internally displaced persons are still deprived of the opportunity to return to their homes safely and with dignity. Furthermore, the individuals involved in taking the lives of Georgian citizens-Davit Basharuli, Giga Otkhozoria, Archil Tatunashvili, Irakli Kvaratskhelia, and Tamaz Ginturi-remain unpunished. The European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) is still denied the ability to fully execute its mandate and conduct monitoring in the occupied regions.
In accordance with numerous decisions of international courts, the Russian Federation bears full responsibility for the situation in the Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions and the illegal acts committed there.
Using all available levers and mechanisms, the Government of Georgia is executing a unified effort to address the severe consequences of the occupation and steadfastly pursues a principled and consistent policy of peaceful conflict resolution. Alongside efforts aimed at the de-occupation of the country, this policy seeks to build trust among members of an artificially divided society, promote cooperation and dialogue around shared interests, care for the population affected by the conflict, and build a better future for them.
The Office of the State Minister highly appreciates the international community's unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, as well as the role of international partners in the peaceful resolution of the conflict, including the process of reconciliation and confidence-building.

Georgia’s State Security Service has launched a sabotage investigation into a dangerous, foreign-controlled disinformation campaign designed to harm the country's national interests.

The investigation centers on a network of fake bot accounts registered and managed from abroad, with support from inside Georgia, that are intentionally spreading harmful content across social media platforms. The main objective of this coordinated campaign is to damage Georgia's economy by creating a false impression that the country has become an unwelcome and unsafe environment for Russian tourists. Security officials emphasized that they are actively working to detect and prevent such fake news operations, warning that any actions-whether driven by internal or external forces-that aim to destabilize state institutions, undermine constitutional order, or threaten national security will face strict legal consequences.
