Why is everyone gravely injured?!
I swear these idiots trip on a rock and on the return screen they drop and say that they are out for another month! Is there a way to NOT have my soldiers spend half of the war in the med bay?!

(Added NSFW just in case. Warning: There will be handling of organs.)
This is the first autopsy on an entity encountered in the field by the Department of Unnatural Research and Containment. After the failure of the Particle Accelerator that was supposed to be the key for the first fully functional FTL Engine reports began coming in about people seeing things in their yards across the nation so the government created DURC as a way to appease people.
When the men were sent out to investigate what we thought were the ramblings of yet another sleep deprived security guard only to be shocked that there really was something and not just one but multiple entities that the men called “Goblins”.
The goblins, upon noticing our agents, turned hostile causing our agents to fire their guns in retaliation which now brings us to the specimen lying before me. The subject is about 120 centimeters tall or close to 4 feet, it has green skin which is currently pale due to its recent expiration and from the injuries it can be observed that it has red blood similar to a human.
*sounds of medical cutting*
Making the first incision I can already see a frightening amount of similarities with human anatomy but at the same time the structure looks almost like a compacted and streamlined version of human anatomy, possibly hinting at a lifestyle that requires the subject to maintain activity.
*more medical cutting noises*
Looking at its muscular structure it is densely tightened allowing it to lift objects that a human of this size would struggle with, this matches with the testimony given by the agents in the field. The limits of said strength cannot be determined at this moment and would require either the capture of a live specimen or to have one of our agents experience said strength first hand in combat.

This is the second autopsy on an entity encountered in the field by the Department of Unnatural Research and Containment. Subject designated as a Redcap.
Field agents were sent out to investigate a strange noise complaint coming from the depths of a sewer as they encountered more Goblins including what looked like their leader and the specimen before me. It is dressed in the similar rags of other Goblins although much less tattered and most importantly a large hat made with red cloth that according to our agents, gave the Goblin a position of authority as the leader of the Goblins.
*sounds of medical incisions*
The internal structure of the specimen is the same as the other Goblin specimens I’ve analysed before.

This is the third autopsy on an entity encountered in the field by the Department of Unnatural Research and Containment, this time on the subject designated as Goblin Shaman.
*sounds of anatomization*
This is a much more dangerous specimen than the previous ones encountered in the field. While its insides have the same structures as previous specimens, its organs seem to almost glow with a blue tinge under the light of my operating room as well as testimonies from agents in the field that it was able to cast magic.
If such entities truly exist out there then we must be careful as to not let our guard down, and perhaps give our agents better weaponry other than their handguns.

This is the… Fourth autopsy on an entity encountered in the field and-- Oh forget about procedure let’s get to the point.
Last week a team of four of our most experienced agents were dispatched to do site recon and investigation of a town in Colorado due to an influx in missing persons reports. The investigation was going well and began to uncover evidence of another entity until the mayor suddenly began trying to interfere in the investigation, leading to our squad following him into an abandoned mine and inside they witnessed the “Rifts” that have allowed previous entities to appear in our world.
It was revealed that the mayor was conspiring with something from the other side to bring it to our world, realizing the mayor was a willing cooperator, the order was given and lethal force was applied and what was brought back to me at unholy hours of the night is riddled with holes from their handguns.
Actually doing my job I can see from just the wounds alone that the body seems to be suffering decomposition dating back to almost one month which makes no sense because the agents shot him less than four hours ago, or it wouldn’t if his skull didn’t pop open like a watermelon full of firecrackers as a smaller entity, that was unfortunately reduced to ground beef and brought to me in a jar, had emerged from the mayor’s head.
According to the testimonies from the agents the creature looked like a brain with clawed legs and because the local nerd who makes the names for these freaks is still asleep I am dubbing these two as Bodyjacker and Body Puppet.
If you want a better analysis get me a specimen that has a more solid consistency than spaghetti sauce!

I saw a few playthroughs and realized that there’s a lot of rankings for what kind of Robert you play as so I wanted to post mine and see what others got. Also fun fact: my Punch-Up succeeded in every single dispatch to the point his hero power didn’t kick in until Episode 8.
Allow me to explain, so I let the Avatar Project run a bit too long and I hadn’t built Resistance Comms so I couldn’t reach the facility. Sounds easy enough, just clear some debris and build the station. Alright, I’ll do a quick mission and get some Supplies and hire an engineer and oops Viper King’s encounter. It’s alright he’s on his last legs and none of my soldiers are in range, no problem just a little bit of careful positioning and he just bodied my Sharpshooter, no problem I’ve got another one and he also got squeezed and is now unconscious and he just teleported away. So my A Team is in med bay for the next month and one is dead, no problem just a little bit of scanning and a few backup soldiers are ready for the field. Here’s an escort mission, B Team goes in and now the Berserker Queen just enters the story through a wall like the Kool Aid Man, mind you I haven’t even encountered a Berserker yet. Okay, just try to stay outside of her field of attack and that was my last soldier in the XCOM turn so a Muton drops a grenade on my VIP who is now unconscious and my first attempt to move results in Berserker Queen body slamming two guys leaving a severally outstretched squad that only has two useful members and the body carrier. You can imagine how this went.
So my squadron is dead, the others are crippled I only have two rookies available and the Avatar Project is one blip away from completion. Any tips for the next playthrough?
So I took a trip by the mod list for DD for cool class mods when I got curious and WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S ALMOST 300 PAGES OF TITTY MODS?! What exactly makes this community so horny? Is it the artstyle? Is it the setting? Is it the eldritch madness of staring at horrors beyond comprehension? Someone please explain??
Holy crap this so stressfully fun! But god do I feel like research takes forever. Okay, so I got the XCOM 2 collection and decided to start with vanilla XCOM 2 with Shen's Last Gift and Alien Hunters DLC on and I have used save scumming because boy are the jokes about "Easy mode being hard" painfully real! Also I've gotten "That's XCOM baby!" a few times, my favorite being when I missed an 86% shot against an enemy (A Faceless if I remember correctly) that was two spaces away only for the enemy to also miss point blank and I then laughed like an idiot. Also, tips on getting more engineers and scientist so that it doesn't take me 15 real life days to do anything other than autopsies? And is it normal for me to get so many missions and pop ups when I want to grab some boxes of Supplies?
By the way, I feel like cataloging the references to sci-fi media I detect in XCOM and I'd be more than interested in getting any input to what I might have missed.
