Maximizing weight relief for a fat wide neck Squier Stagemaster V1 project?

Hi everyone,

I am currently ordering a custom neck for a Squier Stagemaster V1 project. The guitar features a Jackson JT-590 tremolo, and I am going with a very thick, wide neck profile.

To prevent neck dive and keep the guitar as light as possible - while maintaining enough strength to handle high string tension - I chose roasted maple for both the shaft and the fretboard. I also selected a Vortex-style headstock to reduce mass there.

Are there any other upgrades or hardware choices I can make to reduce weight while staying on a budget?

Thanks for your help!

Looking for a thick & wide replacement neck in the EU (Budget-friendly)

Hi everyone,

I'm EU-based and looking for a thick and wide replacement neck to put onto a comfortably shaped body, like a Squier Sonic Strat.

So far, the thickest and widest non-custom neck I have found is the Allparts SRO-W:

  • Nut Width: 1-11/16" (~42.86 mm)
  • 1st Fret Thickness: 0.85" (~21.59 mm)
  • 12th Fret Thickness: 0.96" (~24.38 mm)
  • Price: Around 220 € (unfinished)

Does anybody know of a thicker and wider option that won't break the bank?

Hi all,

the ST-80FR has a nut width of 43 mm (1.65"), as does the sold-out DC-600 VI.

Are there any other models with similar specs?
