Cloud Gaming Options

I'm just researching cloud gaming options at the moment.

I've got two main use cases:
(EDIT one use case - Old School Lan party, 2 goals, windows/mac clients)

  • Me: Windows gaming PC. I can already stream from my own machine using Sunshine/Moonlight, or potentially Steam Remote Play over Tailscale.
  • My friend: Mac M5 / ARM, so compatibility with older Windows games is the bigger problem.

For my friend, the main options I've found so far are:

  • Shadow PC – seems like the obvious option for older Windows games, especially things like heavily modded Total Annihilation or Rome II.
  • Vagon.io – historically not heavily marketed for gaming, but they seem to have added/improved gaming support recently.

I'm mainly wondering what other options are out there worth exploring.

I'm planning to do some testing later this weekend.
The end goal is basically to set up a little virtual LAN with family/friends so we can play older titles together, and potentially some newer games as well.

Ombudsman sided with me - Success Story

Has anyone had a successful outcome with the Energy Ombudsman? EDF complaint upheld on all 4 issues

I’ve just had an Energy Ombudsman case against EDF upheld on all four issues and wondered how other people’s cases actually ended after the decision.

My gas smart meter stopped communicating and EDF effectively stopped billing me for gas for around six months.

I continued paying my Direct Debit throughout, and after EDF eventually fixed the meter/account issue they produced a £437.55 catch-up balance.

I agreed to increase my Direct Debit to £165 a month to clear this over roughly 12 months.

What I didn’t agree to was EDF creating a separate formal payment arrangement for the balance.

I wasn’t told they had done this, and crucially I wasn’t told it would be reported to the credit reference agencies as an “arrangement to pay”.

That marker significantly damaged my creditworthiness and I subsequently had credit limits reduced.

It put me in a genuinely financially vulnerable position despite me never missing the agreed payments and continuing to pay EDF throughout.

When I complained, EDF repeatedly insisted the reporting was correct but couldn’t provide evidence that I had agreed to the separate arrangement or been warned about the credit-file consequences.

I also had promised callbacks that never happened, emails that didn’t answer the actual complaint, and my initial Subject Access Request wasn’t actioned.

The Ombudsman has now ruled that EDF should not have reported the payment arrangement and specifically referenced the industry rules around catch-up bills/bill shock.

EDF has been ordered to remove the payment-arrangement information from my credit file.

The Ombudsman also upheld my complaints about billing delays, misinformation and the overall quality of EDF’s customer service, including the significant impact this had over several months.

The whole experience has caused a huge amount of unnecessary stress, affected me financially and taken a ridiculous amount of time to resolve.

For anyone who has been through something similar: did the supplier actually correct your credit files properly after the Ombudsman decision, and did you receive meaningful compensation for the impact?

What’s the current YouTube app meta in July 2026?

What’s the current YouTube app meta in 2026?

Hey all, I’m trying to understand the current YouTube app landscape because it feels like a bit of a minefield.

My rough understanding is:

  • YouTube Vanced was discontinued.
  • ReVanced became the main successor.
  • ReVanced Extended, or RVX, forked ReVanced and added more patches.
  • The original RVX project was discontinued, but it appears to have been continued through the anddea/revanced-patches fork.
  • Morphe is another newer option that is now being mentioned regularly.

"Vanced to"  seems to be the "best" home page of options showing all the options.

Other alternatives include some aimed at Android TV
Found TizenTube/TizenTube Cobalt the best

What is everyone currently using, and what is considered the safest and most reliable option?

Workspace Organisation

I seem to have slowly ended up using AI for everything from work ideas and fixing emails, to random house questions, planning things, researching products, and general life admin.

The useful bits are now spread across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and probably a few browser tabs I have forgotten about.

I do not need to archive every conversation, but I would like a sensible way to keep useful chats, ideas and decisions, Gemini folders is okish. Chatgpt can't nest.

Has anyone found a setup that actually works long term? Folders, tags, browser extensions.

I have seen some tools charging $100+ for sync and cross-platform history. Is that genuinely the normal going rate, and is any of it worth paying for?

Web Filtering not enforcing on endpoint - ChromeOS Flex Managed Guest

Hey everyone,

I'm currently doing some pre-POC testing, so I have limited support at the moment, but I wanted to see if anyone here has run into this issue before. I'm trying to get this resolved ASAP.

I'm setting up a proof of concept using ChromeOS Flex and trying to get Web Filtering working natively on Managed Guest Sessions (MGS). I've taken a few passes through the configuration, and everything looks flawless in the Admin Console, but the traffic is still not being blocked on the actual endpoint.

Here is my current setup checklist:

  • Managed Guest Session (MGS) Scope: Configured correctly. The test device is placed in the correct testing Organizational Unit, and the Data Protection rule is scoped exactly to that OU.
  • Data Protection Rule Details: Configured correctly. URL categories (e.g., Gambling, Alcoholic Beverages) are defined, and the action is successfully set to block traffic.
  • Chrome Enterprise Connectors: Configured correctly. "Real-time URL check" is locally applied and set to Chrome Enterprise Premium for the target OU. This should be enabling the browser to enforce the rule.

Is there some other hidden background dependency I might be missing for these Premium connector instructions to successfully apply to an MGS endpoint?

Any insights or sanity checks would be hugely appreciated!

Best resources for DSP tips/info? Discord, guides, etc.

Hi all,

I’ve just started playing DSP and I’m really enjoying it so far.
I’m fairly new to this style of base-building/factory game.

I’m just taking it chill at the moment, playing alone and following a couple of Let’s Plays on YouTube.

Reddit seems useful, but are there any good Discord servers, beginner guides, wikis, YouTube channels, or other resources people recommend for learning the game properly? Any beginner-friendly advice would be appreciated.

My top tip for anyone new at the moment, it to take 10 mins to remap the buttons to something better ( Razer Software Profile )
