Engineering students of UoB, how does the learning and revision experience look like?

hello fellow engineer students, I am a first year pharmacy student and to say the least am regretful of picking pharmacy, one of the options i wanted to try and switch to is engineering however i always hear on the media that engineering can be pure hell, how would you describe the experience? and what skills are needed to actually pass in engineering?

the reason im not fond of pharmacy is that I was always good at maths and found physics fun during highschool, however it was the fact that parents who are engineers will try to keep you away from it and instead wanted me to enter a healthcare subject. which I am absolutely not doing well at for the moment due to the sheer amount of 95% of what we take is to be memorised and is almost entirely lectures. is engineering actually less memorisation and more about applying principles and mathematical formulas? or is it more heavy on the memorisation side?
