I'm really love when an artist takes a piece of music that's been around for many decades or centuries and finds an interesting way to give it a new spin. I was wondering what everyone's favorite example of this is? It can even be classical music sampled in recent music. Anything where a very old song has had a facelift in something very recent.

The bigger the gap between when the song was originally created and then covered, the better!

I'm wondering what everyone's favorite chicken seasoning is to use when cooking on the Blackstone that won't burn easily?

Probably not something too herbaceous or sugary obviously, but I'm curious what everyone's using.

I'm looking for something readily available in stores this go around.

I do love a good homemade seasoning but I'm looking to keep it super simple this time where I can just crack open a premixed bottle, throw some on the chicken and go.

Hey all!

To keep an extremely long story short. My old school Republican mom, is finally jumping off the Trump train. She's never been a staunch supporter but she's FINALLY disgusted with him (I know she's insanely late to the party I don't want to get into all of that please, I'm just happy she's finally arrived).

We had a great conversation on Saturday and she asked me for some recommendations about places where I get information. I've been sending her bits and pieces that she's found interesting. I really think she'd find the humor and knowledge combo of LWT engaging so I'd love to send her a few videos if possible.

Can you all help me with some recommendations that will help "deprogram" her a bit. Maybe some things that really show some of the disinformation that exists. Anything where we're being forced apart more and more.

Also, I'd love a rec or two that may not be super politically motivated but still talks about the struggle of the middle class and is well researched and humorous if possible.

Honestly feel free to send me anything off the top of your head and I'll dig into it all and make the determination of what makes the most sense to send to her. There's just SO many videos out there from this incredible show it's tough to try and narrow it all down, lol.

I've got an LG OLED TV that just died on me.

Thankfully it's in a room that's not too heavily used so it's not that big of a deal but since it is such a nice TV I'd like to see if there are any businesses out there that might want to buy it off me for cheap, swap out whatever capacitor or fuse that blew, and then sell it so they can make a pretty penny off of it.

I'm just trying to avoid it sitting in some landfill if possible and I don't know of any business that does this and my googling hasn't turned up any useful results.

I'm on my first read through and really loving the books! I'm at >! the beginning of the seige of Gondor !< so no spoilers beyond that please.

I'm struggling to understand Denethor's character a bit and am trying to see him as more than just a dickhead, lol.

Tolkien has written so many INCREDIBLE deep, many dimensional, characters and I'm sure Denethor is one of them but every time the dude talks I kinda just want to headbutt him.

From what I can gather, he favored Boromir and doesn't like how much Faramir seems to idolize Gandalf. Because of that he is just an ass?

I am POSITIVE I'm missing something deeper here and am hoping the community can help me understand this character better and maybe sympathize with him more.

Or maybe the answer is simply, "Read on, it'll make more sense later," OR "Nope, he's just kind of a dick. Sometimes stories need grumpy old men," and that'd be fine too.

Either way, just hoping for a little help here so I can stop my internal monologue trying to "diagnose" this dude every time he's around, lol.

So I'm technically listening to the audiobooks so I guess it's not a read-through per se, but Gimli's love of >!Galadriel!< is hilarious to me.

Dude goes from basically bad mouthing her, himself to switching up so hard that if anyone so much as thinks a negative thought about her or blinks too many times in her general direction AXE IN YOUR SKULL!
