Las Vegas Luxor elevator?

Does anyone have any photos of the hoist way and or machine room of the Luxor elevators in Las Vegas? Always wanted to see how they were set up.

New non-supported obsolete parts?

So in a lot of industries not just the elevator industry I hear people threading about boards and controllers that are no longer supported. I've always wondered how many of these boards use off the shelf parts? As long as there are no custom integrated circuits I don't see why you can't just have a new PCB manufactured. Seems like it would be a great business opportunity.

Anybody have any cool elevators or dumbwaiters in their facility?

Title says it all I was wondering if anybody else has any unique or antique elevators or those old hand-powered dumbwaiters at the workplace.

HELP can't figure this out.

Need help figuring this out

I have this dumbwaiter pulley system, the smaller is where the cable for the dumbwaiter car goes over and then goes to the counterweight. When the small pulley is turned it rests on a threaded rod which causes it to press against the gear and ratchet that locks it up and prevents it from turning further. If you turn the big pulley (this would be where the loop of rope is attached that you pull to raise and lower the dumbwaiter) it unscrews the smaller pulley pulling it away from the ratchet wheel and allowing it to turn. The problem with this is this mechanism only locks up in one direction if I try turning the smaller pulley and the other direction the whole thing spins freely. The pulley would need to lock up in both directions either to hold everything stationary when the dumb- waiter wants to drift down when loaded or when the dumbwaiter car is empty and the heavier counterweight wants to pull it up. Here is a video I made

I can't seem to find any patents from the energy elevator company addressing how the system is supposed to work the closest one I found was this but I don't know if it works the same.

https://patents.google.com/patent/US950828A/en?q=(Dumbwaiter)&num=25&oq=Dumbwaiter&sort=old&page=7 I still can't figure out how it locks up when not utilizing the ratchet wheel.

Train elevator

So apparently Amtrak had a ditch getting double decker cars because if they did it would require an elevator and no company wanted to do that. Just for fun I tried to come up with a way to fit a elevator in a train car that takes up as little space as possible and being as simple as possible. No I'm no mechanical engineer nor do I play one on TV but I was bored at work and decided to have fun figuring this out. For simplicity I went with a ACME screw and had it placed by the back rear corner of the hoist way. The other corner would hold the guide assembly which could be a rigid mounted pole that go through the sling assembly with nylon pads. The screw would be geared directly to a three-phase brake motor. I don't know do I have mechanical engineering in my future 😂

Mechanical mystery

So I have this pulley system from an Energy Elevator Company hand powered dumbwaiter. I decided to make a video explaining my problem here

https://youtu.be/nYzFT2y67IQ?si=JlUj0IeSZdqJS6ZN

I'm thinking it might be this patent

https://patents.google.com/patent/US950828A/en?q=(Dumbwaiter)&num=25&oq=Dumbwaiter&sort=old&page=7 but I'm having trouble understanding it.

The company is long since gone and so is any information and I'm at my wit's end.

What advertisement was this

Man and woman in the house man was at a computer and the woman was talking about different places they could move. Every time she mentioned a location the guy pulled up information about the local sports team on his computer. At the end she finally mentioned some Miami. And the man repeats back "Miami" in a very meem worthy way while nodding his head in. approval

Anyone good with woodworking and want to help build an educational display? I want to get a frame built for this electric motor roter and and be able to slide in and out magnets to show how it works. The top image is the kind of thing I'm talking about the picture on the bottom is of the actual rotor I have.
