I built a free browser-based gaming platform with a collection of instant-play HTML5 games!

Hi everyone!

I'm a solo developer, and I recently created a web-based gaming platform called Lokayantra.

My goal was to build a clean, fast-loading, and responsive arcade platform where players can instantly jump into games directly through their browser without needing any downloads, sign-ups, or installations.

The platform features a variety of HTML5 games across different genres (like action, puzzles, and casual arcade games) that work smoothly on both PC and mobile browsers.

I would love for you all to check it out, play a few games, and let me know what you think about the performance, UI, or game selection! Your feedback would mean a lot to me.

I built LokaYantra — a free browser gaming platform for instant-play games

I've been working on a project called LokaYantra, a browser gaming platform focused on making online games easier to discover and play.

The idea is simple: open the website, find something interesting and start playing directly in the browser.

I'm trying to make the experience feel more like a gaming platform rather than just a random collection of game links.

I'm working on categories, search, game pages, responsive design and improving the overall browsing experience.

There are currently games across multiple genres including action, puzzle, racing, sports, arcade and more.

The project is still growing, but the basic version is live.

I'd love to hear what you think about the overall concept and website experience.

Technical challenges I faced while building a custom browser-based HTML5 game platform as a solo developer

Hi everyone,

I recently finished developing a web-based HTML5 games platform as a solo dev, and I wanted to share some of the core technical hurdles I encountered during the process. Since web performance is critical, I had to solve a few tricky engineering problems:

Optimizing Iframe and Asset Loading:

Embedding multiple HTML5 games from various sources caused memory bloat and slow initial page loads. I had to implement lazy loading for game frames and optimize asset delivery so the platform remains snappy even on low-end devices.

Responsive UI & CSS Grid Management:

Designing a clean, clutter-free dashboard that adapts seamlessly across both mobile and desktop browsers was harder than expected. Managing CSS grid layouts to prevent UI overlapping during screen resizing required a lot of custom media queries and lightweight styling.

State Management & Browser Caching:

Handling user sessions and game states without backend lag was challenging. I utilized local storage optimization to manage user preferences smoothly without overloading the browser.

If any of you have built web-based gaming portals or optimized iframe-heavy sites, how did you handle memory management and asset caching? Would love to hear your thoughts!
