Follow-Up on Angela's U.S. Customs Issue

Sharing a short follow-up on post on the custom's situation from a month ago or so. Thanks to everyone who chimed in on my original post. Hopefully this provides some color to all the user who kindly reached out after being in the same shoes.

Angela finally refunded me on September 24, about a month after the incident.

A couple things worth mentioning:

  • The refund was sent through PayPal G&S, so I ended up receiving less than what I originally paid because of G&S fees.
  • Angela eventually ended up admitting I should have provided the requested info to customs to have the package released, as “other customers cooperated and their shipments were released without issue” – despite denying it multiple times on the original post and on my chat with her.

What could have been a simple shipping issue turned into a month-long back and forth, and I ultimately had to take a loss on the refund because of the PayPal fees.

Just sharing the final outcome for anyone considering ordering from her. At the end of the day, I guess this is simply a risk each buyer has to be comfortable with. For me though, this experience was enough for me not to order from Angela again.

Angela: U.S. Customs Question

Has anyone had Angela requesting you (the buyer / importer) to fill out a U.S. Customs document? She shipped the watch via FedEx and the document is essentially a worksheet containing a value breakdown of each watch’s component.

I’ve always had the seller (both TDs and non-TDs) fill this out (in those instances where the package was declared as a watch). Attaching pictures for reference. Any guidance from this community is highly appreciated. Thank you!

Thorn T023 V3.1 — C3 vs. BGW9

Newly released Thorn T023 V3.1 in both C3 (left) and BGW9 (right) versions. Both feature the upgraded tool-less bracelet, as well as the non-Frogmantle dial.

Despite the slight lume mismatch between the hands and hour markers, I still prefer the BGW9’s eggshell color and slightly different dial text layout.

VSF Datejust 41 – Azzuro Blue, Fluted Bezel and Jubilee Bracelet

Always appreciative of this community and the second set of eyes.

  10. Bezel: Not sure whether my eyes are deceiving me, but bezel looks just a tad bit larger, especially when compared to the other 5-6 VSF DJ 41s I’ve owned in the past.

  13. Anything else you notice: Here’s what’s bothering me and I hope it’s simply the angle of the pictures: The rehaut looks too deep, especially on the first three pictures.
